Chapter 34
Dracula
Dracula was before the king of darkness, bowing down and using his fist for support. Getting to his feet, they locked gazes and Azazel grinned a wicked one before sitting on his throne.
"Now that I've brought her to you, can you fulfil your own part of the deal?" Dracula asked impatiently, tapping his foot on the ground.
"What deal?" The devil stroked his chin and stared at the space between them as he pretended to be thinking about something.
"What do you mean by what deal?" Dracula glowered at the devil who reclined on his throne with his legs widely apart.
"Oh, to free the woman whom you've been cheating on with many women?" Azazel asked, resting his chin on his fist and looking away like he was bored to death.
"I am a man with hormones." Drac defended himself and the devil's eyes danced in silent laughter as he stared amusingly at his supposed best friend.
"Hormones?" Azazel sat up and popped his knuckles. "That's not an excuse for sinning against your wife. You're just like me... Cunning and selfish."
"No, I'm not." Dracula's lips turned upwards as he glared at Azazel.
Azazel was a handsome man, no doubt. His pointed nose was like it was molded by a being into perfection.
"Then how do you explain your promiscuous behavior?" The devil cocked up his brows before grabbing a glass of blood to sip it with a bendy straw.
"That's not what I'm here for. I owe you no explanations."
"But you owe Lucy some." An irritating laugh vibrated from the back of the devil's throat and Drac rolled his eyes skyward before settling the gaze back on Azazel's pointy horns.
"Can you set her free now and lift the curse?" Dracula asked and the devil chuckled darkly, his eyes turning a darker shade of black as he leaned forward and placed his elbows on his knees.
"What do people know me for?" Azazel asked, getting to his feet with a malevolent look.
"I just want Lucy back, don't play these games with me." Dracula seethed.
"What do people know me for, Drac?" Azazel asked again, but this time in a more dangerous tone.
"Deceit," answered Dracula. "Now, lift the curse so I can be free."
"Glad you said deceit. And no, I'm lifting no curse, neither am I setting your lover free. A punishment is a punishment!" Azazel tilted his head to the side, smiling like the Cheshire cat.
"I'll make you pay for this!" Dracula gnashed his teeth.
"Good luck then. Ciao!" Azazel let out a sultry laugh before spinning.
With that, the devil disappeared like a gust of wind and left Dracula fuming with anger.
Veins popped up on the sides of Dracula's head and a volcano erupted in him. Kneeling on the floor, Dracula exclaimed and banged his fists on the ground, shaking the place.
"Curse you, Azazel!" Dracula yelled, kicking stones and splitting the bigger ones in half. "Why did you do this to me?"
"Because I'm the king of deceit!" Azazel's voice reverberated through the walls and Dracula looked up. "And I owe no one explanations."
These words echoed in Dracula's head and he shouted, raking his fingers in his hair–he sank his nails deeper, bruising the sides of his head.
He climbed up Azazel's throne and kicked his throne, throwing things away and causing havoc.
He raised his middle fingers to the sky and screamed, "Fuck you!"

Dracula settled on the kitchen sto and fidgeted with the locket in between his fingers, thinking of a way to make the devil pay for what he had just done.
"Who does he think he is to go back on his promise? How could he do such a disheartening thing?" Dracula threw questions at Linda with a bottle of liquor in his hands. "How?!"
"This was the same way I felt after selling my soul to the devil and giving myself to you without getting Jeremy till today. Karma exists." Linda nonchalantly pointed out, stirring her cup of coffee with a table spoon.
"Don't you dare speak to me in such a manner." Dracula warned and she sipped from her cup, keeping quiet to avoid Dracula from transferring his aggression on her.
"Sorry." Linda mumbled.
"What I need now is a plan to make him pay. A plan to make him regret going back on his words."
"He's the king of darkness, how are you going to over power him?" Linda asked, eyeing him from the dinning table of the ancient house she had taken Maris to.
"I'm the king of vampires and his best friend. I know his weaknesses. Only a friend can kill you because an enemy knows nothing about you, but a friend knows a lot." Dracula pointed out.
"Do you really know his weaknesses?" Linda cocked up her brows and Dracula shrugged.
"No," dry toned Dracula. "But I have a master plan."
Dracula did a come hither motion with his index finger and she did as she was told. He sat her down on the kitchen stool next to him and leaned in so his lips could be a whisper away from her ear.
His lips moved and words slipped out of them. He filled her in on the perfect plan and her smile grew wider, she loved evil and she was going to support him no matter what. Hopefully, he'd ditch Lucy and marry her so they could rule the world in darkness together.
"Sweet." Linda muttered and got to her feet.
Just when she was about to go grab her boots, she froze and craned her neck.
"What about Jeremy?" She asked, sadness creeping into her heart.
"He's in safe hands. I'm the one keeping him not not Azazel." Drac pointed out. "We'll move at night before we're too late."
"I want to see my son." Linda chipped in.
Dracula granted her request and made her the happiest woman in the world. He might have poisoned her mind and turned her into a monster, but her son still made her dig out the soft spot in her heart. It wasn't entirely stone cold after all.
"Mom!" He exclaimed and ran into her warm embrace. "I've missed you."
His eyes were closed as he enjoyed the body warmth of his mother, while Dracula stood by the doorway and watched.
"What are you doing with this man?" Jeremy flinched when he caught sight of Dracula, hanging around.
"I work for him now. We make quite a good team." She caressed his cheeks and he pulled out of her hug.
"He's evil, mother. Can't you see that?" Jeremy asked, voice a little deeper than she remembered it to be.
"I just came to say I love you and I'll get you out of the place, I promise." She planted a kiss on Jeremy's forehead and he wiped it away, breaking her heart.
"If you work for him now why can't he release me?"
"I want you to be safe. The world out there isn't and we have big plans for tonight." She explained calmly.
"That might cause war!" Jeremy raised his hands up in frustration.
"Times up, we gotta go." Dracula gripped Linda's arm and pulled her away from Jeremy.
"I love you, baby." She blew Jeremy a kiss, but he looked away with his back turned to her.
Her heart sank for the umpteenth time today, but she had to do what Dracula ordered or perish in hell.
"Ready?" He asked Linda who nodded her head enthusiastically and they strode out of the underground house hand in hand.
Dracula and Linda went out that night, biting more people and adding to their followers. They journeyed to the dungeon and in no time, it was surrounded by vampires.
"I'm going to whisk Maris away from Azazel," Dracula said to himself, venom dripping from his voice and they crawled into the cave like thieves, the irony.
