Chapter 35
Maris~~Azazel's dungeon.
"Help me, I need to get out of this place." Maris sobbed, tears trailing down her cheeks.
With her back against the bars, she slid down to the floor and hugged her knees to her chest.
"I just want everything to go back to normal, I want Logan." She wailed, earning a pitiful look from Lucy.
"I wish there was a way to help you, but my fate is even worse than yours." Lucy sighed, resting her head on the wall.
Maris sat up, remembering something her mother had told her when she was alive. She pulled off both her earrings and laid them in her palms. The earrings had the same symbol on her wrist and her mother's face flashed in her head.
"Whenever you're in trouble, cry to this or hold it and scream help." Her mother instructed, pinning the earrings to her ears. "And you'll be saved."
Maris snapped back to reality and began to cry, feeling the root of bitterness in the depths of her heart.
"Help me, I'm in danger." She cried, wetting the earrings with her tears.
"What are you doing?" Lucy asked with a confused look.
"Calling for help." Maris answered and continued. After doing this for twenty minutes, she gave up and sat back on the floor with a defeated demeanor. "Why did a demon have sex with me like you said earlier?"
"Well, that's just the demon feeding off on your sexual appetite." Lucy answered, eyes on the ceiling.
"I don't get." Maris blinked rapidly at Lucy, feeling dirtier than a gutter. "A demon feeds by having sex with me?"
"Yeah, like Incubus. But this one isn't an Incubus, it's what the devil needs to complete his ritual to rule the Earth and Hades."
"So it's the devil's entity that everyone has been haunting me for?" Maris questioned and Lucy nodded.
Abruptly, the door creaked open and Maris jerked, crawling away from the bars and stopped just beside Lucy.
"Who is that?" Maris shook, heart in her throat that she forcefully gulped a saliva to push the heart back.
"Might be his guards, coming to check on us or–"
"Logan?" Maris' eyes brightened then she moved towards the iron bars, but was meter away from it.
"You wish." Dracula slurred with a smirk dancing on his lips.
His fiery eyes fell on Lucy and his mien softened, but Lucy looked away, a scowl camping on her facade.
"My love." Dracula stretched his hand through the bar and yearned for her touch, but Lucy was pissed and irritated.
"Don't my love me." Lucy glowered, hands folded against her chest.
"Why?" Dracula held the bars with a confused look, "What have I done, I don't remember offending you?"
"Mistresses, do you remember having them?" Lucy asked, lips primed as she stared daggers at him.
Maris only stood with alertness in her eyes as she watched the two lovers argue. Dracula was a bastard for sure, he couldn't keep his member in his pants.
"If you did all these things to save me cause you love me then why sleep with other women?" Lucy asked, but weakly this time and Maris could sense a tear was going to slip out of her eye anytime soon.
"Because I don't know. I think it was the devil manipulating me. He can't be trusted." Dracula held his head and walked around the dungeon.
The door slowly creaked open and all three of their heads snapped to the direction. Linda strode in, swirling a bunch of keys in her index finger.
"I got them, let's leave." She threw the keys and Dracula caught them then opened the cage.
"Come with me, let's rule the world together." Dracula held out his hand to Lucy, but she grunted, refusing to place hers in his. "Lucy, c'mon. We don't have much time. We gotta go before Azazel finds out."
"I don't think I want to have anything to do with you. I rather die than be with someone that forces himself on my kind." Lucy glowered and Linda couldn't help the smile that was crawling up her face.
Maris didn't waste time, she took Linda's hand and was drawn out of the prison.
"Why are you saving me?" Maris asked Linda who was trying her best not to smile at the scene in front of her. "You care after all."
"No, I don't. I only care about my son and keeping you alive for the sake of the ritual." Linda muttered with an I don't care demeanor and Maris blinked rapidly, feeling her heart cramp.
"Lucy, please." Dracula begged, before she finally accepted.
They successfully slipped out of the cave and out in the cold night, which was only illuminated by the full moon.
Maris glanced at Linda who was unhappy the moment Lucy accepted.
"The journey to Ufeli forest begins!" Dracula yelled and his followers cheered. His arm was around Lucy's waist the whole time he gave his speech.
Maris leaned in to Linda the female Grinch and whispered, "Do you smell that?"
"What?" Linda scowled, face hard like a rock.
"Jealousy." Maris laughed and Linda sank her hand into Maris' hair and grabbed a fistful of it.
"You will not make jokes of me." Linda tightened her hold and Maris winced, clawing at her hand. "Get it?"
"Yes, let me go." Maris wailed and it caught Dracula's attention.
"Linda, let go of the demon host." He ordered and Linda grunted in response before pushing her violently to the ground.
Maris fell face flat on the floor and bruised her cheek. She yelled, feeling the pain shoot through her nose.
"Somebody save me," Maris cried. Linda grabbed her arm and pulled her up. The chain around her wrists didn't give her the chance to forget her fist on Linda's face. "And you have a child. You're heartless."
Linda chuckled darkly, before shoving Maris and asking her to move forward.
Dracula crouched and Lucy got on his back. Linda crouched and motioned for Maris to get on.
"No." Maris tried to act stubborn, but climbed the moment the vampires with pale skins showed her their fangs. Some were white and some, yellow.
In one insane second, Linda ran as fast as Sonic, passing bushes and causing the wind to slap Maris hard in the face.
"Stop!" Dracula yelled and they halted.
Maris' heart was beating violently by the time Linda dropped her harshly on the ground.
"I can smell something..." Dracula drawled, picking up the sand to sniff. "There are werewolves around."
These words made the joy in Maris to over flow like a river, she was certain Logan was searching for her. A smile made it's way to her lips and her stomach flipped as hope sprang in her heart.
"Turn around." He ordered and Maris was placed on Linda's back again.
The crickets chipped and owls hooted, making the place more creepier than it was. They stopped at another destination and the bushes snapped, followed by the thumping of feet.
Suddenly, a well built man stepped out of the bush, a blue crown resting on his head and a staff in his hand. He was shirtless and had great biceps that would have had Maris drooling if the situation wasn't serious. His eyes were shut and Maris glanced below his waist–he had on a mini material covering his groin like some kind of panties with a familiar symbol.
He pointed his staff at them and peeled his eyes open. Maris gasped at how breath taking his blue eyes were, even prettier than Logan's.
"Let the girl go." His voice was deep as he narrowed his eyes into crinkled slits.
