"Mom can you get me more painkillers on your way back?"
"Okay sweetie. Remember to rest!" My mom bellowed as she went through the front door. I've gotten so used to her being here, that I even forgot that this was temporary. She didn’t even seem like she was making an effort to try and get back to her husband.
But oddly I didn’t mind. I hated what had been going on in my life, especially with my dad, so a little house company wasn’t all that bad. She was a lot of help too. Her being here minimized the amount of work I had to do around the house like cleaning and cooking. So I wasn’t complaining.
I knew I had to let her go soon though. After my dad's trial, I knew I'd have to talk to her about both of us getting back to real life. But for now, I enjoyed the luxury.
I shoveled another handful of popcorn in my mouth as I ogled at the sexy men on the television. I had Prince snuggled against me as we watched TV together, and I would momentarily feed him popcorn too. He was such a great friend.
After the movie ended, I felt myself yawning from exhaustion. I checked my phone, seeing that it was only 9 in the evening. My mom always preferred night shopping, for some reason, but I never questioned it. I didn’t, however, feel like going to bed just yet.
Checking my messages, I saw that there were only two texts, one from Emily rambling about how sick she is of college, and one from Jessica, again, talking about college. I really need some working-class friends.
It then occurred to me that I hadn’t heard from Tristan, and I realized that Thursdays was his working late day.
"You think I should go pay Tristan a visit?" I asked Prince. I didn’t feel like staying in.
Prince huffed and snuggled more into my lap. He didn’t like Tristan very much. They were always fighting for my attention.
I giggled as I ran my hands through his fur. "It's okay bud. I'll bring you back a snack?"
He barked once at this, but he looked like he was still contemplating letting me go or not. I always wondered if they could actually understand what we were saying. I mean, they must understand to an extent right?
"I'll be back soon okay?" I quickly kissed his nozzle as I made a move to get up. He jumped from my lap, barking at me once as if telling me to remember his snack.
A chuckle escaped my lips as I made my way upstairs. I had a quick shower to get all the dog slobber and hair from my body, before pulling on some simple jeans and a t-shirt. There was a light drizzle outside too, so I pulled a sweater over my shoulders too.
I hadn’t driven myself anywhere since my accident a few weeks ago, but I was more than ready to get back behind the wheel. My wound was healing quite well. Even though sometimes I had pain in my lower back, Dr. Monroe said that it was healing nicely, and I could feel it too. However, Tristan always acted like the wound was the same size forever. He treated me like a baby, and even though sometimes it was sweet, it got too much at times.
Like last night, we had a small fight because I left his to go grab groceries for him. Apparently, I shouldn’t have been carrying that 'many bags' with my wound. Bear in mind, I only had two bags.
Nonetheless, I didn’t dwell on it too much. In fact, I woke up this morning with everything forgotten. I missed him though. He was my only source of peace.
I arrived at the station at around ten, and I ensured my surroundings were safe before coming out of my car. Luckily, I got past the officers at the front without question, as I made my way towards where I knew he was.
There he sat, in the very dark room with his hand on his cheek and a single table lamp lighting up his papers. There was really no obligation for him to work this late, he just always chose to on Thursdays.
A smile stretched on my lips as I gently knocked on the door, gaining his attention. The moment his eyes landed on me, he beamed as he pushed his chair back a bit. I closed the distance between us and brought my lips to his without a single minute of hesitation. I loved the way his lips always took control of mine.
"What are you doing here this late?" He mumbled against my lips as he pulled away. "Not that I'm complaining" I giggled a little.
"I missed you" I admitted. "Annddd..." I trailed as I revealed the meal I stopped to get him. "I think you might be hungry."
He smiled at me. "What would I do without you Cianna Leir?"
I shrugged playfully. "Starve to death on your late nights"
He chuckled lightly as he quickly pecked my lips and reclaimed his former seat. I plopped my bottom on his desk, pushing myself back so that my feet were hanging above the ground. I watched silently as he ate, though I was well aware of how creepy I might've looked.
"So how was your day?" He asked after taking a sip of his ice tea.
"It was boring. I called my boss and told him that I can work again. I work from home after all."
"And you say I'm a workaholic" He chuckled, and I surprisingly found myself joining in on the laughter.
"You are though. I mean, look at where we're at right now"
"You've got a point." He pointed out as he discarded the empty box. I knew he was hungry. He gazed up at me, and I could see nervousness in his eyes as he held my hand. "But if I had a beautiful woman like you coming home to everyday, maybe I would work less"
I caught onto what he was insinuating immediately. "Is this your way of asking me to move in with you?"
"Depends. Will you?" Oddly I didn’t feel uncomfortable with the question. I've already established that I was in love with him, and he was literally my safe haven. So why wouldn’t I want to move in with him? I stay with him all the time anyways.
"It's something we can consider," I concluded with a reassuring smile. "We can start by finishing up here and taking me home with you" I dragged my index finger over his chest suggestively with a teasing smirk. He growled in approval as he watched me with his bottom lip pulled between his teeth. Undeniable sexy.
"Just give me a minute to finish up here, and I'll be yours all night" He whispered in my ear, causing a familiar throb to begin in my little friend.
Instead of waiting like he suggested, I slid between him and under his table, positioning myself between his legs. He peered at me from above, and I loved the way he looked from this angle--especially with that look in his eyes.
"Cianna.." He warned lowly as I ran my hand up his knee. My lips pulled into a wider smirk.
"Yes detective?" I coaxed in my seductive voice, something I knew drove him crazy. I unbuckled his belt slowly before fiddling with the button of his slacks. I purposely moved languid, making my hand brush over his member while I undid him.
"F**k Cianna" He cursed lowly when I gripped him in my arms.
My core throbbed at the very sight of him in my hands, large and pulsating as if he had already taken me. I smirked at him one last time as I slowly stroked him in my hands. He groaned, gripping my ponytail in his hands and leading my face towards him.
I took him fully into my mouth, and he yanked my hair as I played with him in my mouth. I took him in deeper and deeper, momentarily looking up to see his expression. I knew he wouldn’t last much longer, since I could feel just how stiff and pulsating he was on my tongue. To finish him off once and for all, I swirled my tongue against the tip of him, making sounds of my own to push him over the edge.
As expected, he spilled in my mouth within seconds, and I greedily drank all he offered to me, loving how he tasted sweet.
"You-you are something else woman" he accused lowly as he caught his breath. I giggled at him, wanting nothing more than to take him home and have him all night.
"Are you done working yet?"
"Oh f**k yes" He growled, quickly shoving papers in his drawers. I was still perched under his table on my knees. I was about to get out when I heard the door opening.
"Shit" I mumbled, knowing damn well I shouldn’t have been there.
"Tristan! So good I caught you" Sean's familiar voice filled the room, and luckily the desks in the room had a back covering. I didn’t want to make my presence known, so I simply stayed put. I didn’t bother covering him back up, and every time he tried to, I slapped his hand away.
"What's up?" He asked his partner. I could see that he was trying really hard to sound casual. In reality, he was all hot and bothered.
"So I think I found a way to end this case once and for all," Sean announced. I knew they had been working together for the past few weeks, which was good. I've come to realize that Sean wasn’t that bad after all, he just had an authoritative way about him sometimes.
However, they were having a hard time closing the case. Larry, my dad's lawyer, was good and we all knew that. He was the reason why my dad even got bail. There was no doubt behind my dad killing Mia, but they still needed more solid evidence to link it to Sheldon's murder. They had enough, that was for sure, but they wanted it solidified so that Larry couldn’t have any loopholes to push through.
I simply stayed out of it all. I didn’t need to be caught in the mix. I didn’t want to, not until the trial.
"Yea? wh-what is it?" Tristan threw me a quick glare when I ran my thumb over the tip of him in a teasing way, and he quickly tucked himself inside his pants, getting real sick of my teasing I'm sure.
I bit my lip to stifle a laugh as I teased him through his pants. I could be really annoying at times.
"Hello Cianna,"
I froze. That was Sean's voice. With a sheepish smile, I rose from underneath the table to look at him.
"Hey..."I trailed awkwardly. The situation was actually really funny, but I couldn’t laugh. "How did you know I was under there?"
Edward smirked at me, showing that he wasn’t annoyed by me being there. "I'm a cop. Of course I knew you were there"
"Oh."
"I'm actually glad I caught you too. I think I have the answer to all our problems" He stated proudly.
"You have five million dollars and a brand new car for me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. He simply chuckled.
"No, but I know how to close the case" Tristan and I perked at this. "You are the answer Cianna"
"Me?" I raised a confused brow at him. "No I'm staying out of it"
"But think about it. What is the one thing Renold cherishes more than his own freedom?"
I shrugged. “Me? Are you saying I should help?"
"Yes dear. If we tell him that you have been arrested again because of new evidence that came up, I guarantee that he will confess everything"
"So you want me to trick my dad into a confession? Can you even do that?" I asked, unsure.
"Maybe not, but with his confession, even after he learns that you weren’t arrested, he won't be able to come back out of this one"
I scratched my arms nervously. "I don’t know..."
"Hey you don’t have to give us an answer now. Just think about it okay?" I nodded, but said nothing else. "Oh and you have a little something there" He smirked as he brushed the corner of his lips.
My hand immediately flew to the corner of my lips in panic, but there was nothing there. His laughter followed behind him as he left, and I threw daggers at his retreating form. I turned to face Tristan, sending him a glare too when I saw him trying to hold back a laugh.
"Don’t even think about it" I growled as I gazed at him through slits. He raised his hands in mock surrender with a chuckle.
"So are you going to do it?" I was going to ask what 'it' means, but then I realized that he was referring to what Sean suggested.
I shrugged. "I don’t know. I’d literally be stabbing him in the back." I frowned at the thought. Mia's murder can send him away for life right? Does he need Sheldon’s charge too?
But then again, I had to be fair. Sheldon had friends and family who wanted to see this case closed. They will hate me, but they deserve closure.
"Just think about it," he said as he pulled me back to him. He brushed a lock of hair from my eyes and tucked it back into my ponytail as he smiled at me. "I'll support you either way"
"Thank you" I nuzzled my nose in his neck, appreciating everything about him. "Are we ready to go now?"
He pushed me back to flash me a smirk. "You were being such a little tease and expected me not to react?"
I smiled innocently at him, as I watched him walk over to the door to close it, and he returned to me after disabling the camera.
"No escape there you little tease."
My eyes grew wider with every step closer he took. I gulped, yelping as he grabbed me and spun me around on my stomach on his desk.
Right here right now? Okay Mr. Detective.
