A token of thanks
Aurora giggled, feeling a bit relieved with the nice doctor.
“I’ll also recommend you to drink this tea to remove the toxins and in a week you’ll be fine. You just have to stay bed rest for now.”
She nodded and Dra. Wong faced Reagan. “Now drive me home, I have a date with my boyfriend.”
Reagan glanced at Aurora, not wanting to leave her but he sighed, “Yeah yeah, as promised.”
“Thank you for having me here and trusting me. I’ll leave now. Goodnight!” Said Dra. Wong, bowing lightly before Reagan and her disappeared.
Lola Nanding stood up. “I’m glad and relieved it’s now settled. I’ll ask them to prepare the guest room and I’ll brew this tea for you.”
“Thank you, Lola Nanding.”
Lola Nanding just smiled and disappeared into the kitchen.
She appeared for a few minutes to give her the tea and Aurora diligently drank it.
“I prepared a room for you to sleep in now. Let's wait for Reagan to carry you upstairs.” She said and nodded.
“I prepared a room for you to sleep in now. Let's wait for Reagan to carry you upstairs.” She said and nodded.
The night continued as Lla Nanding turned on the television and put it on the news channel so she not get bored.
“The weather for today is not good, with rains coming up for the city of Gensan the whole night.” Said the news reporter.
Aurora gasped at that, worried if Reagan had brought an umbrella with him.
Aurora is still seated by the chair and peeking at the window outside. The sky was a bit calm earlier and now, thunderstorms were there and slowly, it started to rain.
Lola Nanding came to her and held her hand, “Don’t worry dear. My grandson is reliable, he won’t get sick with just a mere rain.”
It took half an hour for Reagan to appear later on, as his shirt was completely drenched in water and he was out of breath.
Lola Nanding came to give him some towels and made him drink some hot chocolate, “You didn’t bring an umbrella? I could have asked my people to come after you.”
Reagan’s body shuddered a bit as he sat by the other end of the sofa, and Aurora looked at him quietly, a bit guilty that she’s one of the reasons why he is like this. “I just drove faster so I could return fast enough. I didn’t know it would rain tonight, Lola.” He replied, now coming to her.
He put his hands to check on her neck and her forehead, “Dra. Wong advised me to check if you have some fever every night.”
She nodded, not wanting to argue with him. He had done so much for tonight and got drenched by the rain. Even though he was the one who was drenched and wet, he is still thinking about her… also, she remembered that he still hasn't had his dinner.
“I can check my own temperature with the thermometer. You’re freezing, Reagan. You should stop thinking about others and start caring for yourself.” She said, not wanting to appear as she cares but it's too late. “Just change your clothes first and have your dinner.” She said, not meeting his eyes.
Reagan noticed her sudden change of attitude, “What’s wrong? Are you alright?”
Reagan noticed her sudden change of attitude, “What’s wrong? Are you alright?”
“Nothing, your Lola Nanding is just worried for you.”
He nodded and gave her the thermometer. “Then I’ll go shower first. Stay here for a minute.”
He nodded and gave her the thermometer. “Then I’ll go shower first. Stay here for a minute.”
She put it in her underarm and let the thermometer stay to make sure her thermometer. After three minutes, it showed 36.5. Normal temperature…
Reagan checked for it for a few minutes and then go upstairs to shower and change his clothes. He returned a few minutes after, now with some dry clothes on as his blue shirt and black pants, and proceeded to go to the dining table with Lola Nanding heating up the food. His hair was still a bit wet and his clean muscular scent was there with his familiar musk perfume on.
As he finished eating, he went back to her and sat beside her. “You must be tired.”
She shook her head, “No, you must be tired. You’re the one who ran around here and there the whole night.”
“It’s nothing. I did it for you.”
He said and whispered, “Did you fall in love with me now?”
She chuckled, hitting him lightly, “You have the nerve to tease me after all that happened today.”
Reagan glanced at her wound and cleared his throat, “Today was hectic for us, I’ll get you to the guest room Lola Nanding prepared.”
Reagan glanced at her wound and cleared his throat, “Today was hectic for us, I’ll get you to the guest room Lola Nanding prepared.”
And with that, he carried her gently upstairs and walked towards the second room they passed by.
“This will be your room for the week in your stay here since Dra. Wong advised you to rest.” He said, pointing at it. He opened the door of the room and turned on the lights before putting her on the bed carefully.
Silence wrapped between them as Reagan leaned by the wall, staring at her. Aurora glanced at her to see him gazing at her quietly and she bit her lip.
Wanting to break the awkward silence, she cleared her throat, “Thank you for today.”
He blinked, not sure if he heard it right, and nodded, “You’re welcome. I guess my teasing would have to be put on hold for now.”
“Yeah, you better not.”
He smiled, ruffling her hair and saying, “Sleep tight, princess and have a rest.”
He smiled, ruffling her hair and saying, “Sleep tight, princess and have a rest.”
With that, he closed the door after him and left quietly.
He must be really feeling guilty about this. He was even proud of making a surprise for her yesterday and didn’t expect it would happen like this…
Aurora looked around the room. The room was simple and had a quite classical feel with the queen-sized bed she’s sitting at and the big cabinet of wardrobe to her right while a vanity mirror to her left. There was a door by the end so she’s guessing it was a bathroom.
She felt the effect of the tea she drank earlier starting to make her drowsy and she lay by the bed and closed her eyes.
From outside, she could hear some faint noises and she tried hard to make out the sounds.
“You bad boy. I’ll tell your parents about this.” She’s guessing the voice was from Lola Nanding.
“Come on Lola. Please? For me?” It was Reagan’s. Aurora continued closing her eyes, focusing her attention on their conversation. “Let us stay here without my parents knowing. I don't want them to worry.”
Silence soon followed and Aurora continued closing her eyes until she fell asleep on her own.
