Chapter 26 We'll Be A Dream
Siam's POV
The next morning Anna and I made our way to the dining room, laughing and talking. And when we stepped inside, the room went quiet.
We looked up and saw the boys, Uncle Luke and Cam staring at us.
Aaron was the first to break the noise by dropping his toast back on his plate, upset.
“I told you not to make her wait.” He whined.
“What?” I asked.
“We understand why you didn’t accept Anna, Siam’s an idiot.” Jake added.
“What?” I asked again, this time offended.
“Why don’t you have your breakfast, and we’ll talk about it.” Cam added.
Eric and uncle Luke were just smiling and shaking there head.
“Can we talk now?” Anna asked.
“Oh, well, we’re still having break-“
I hear Anna shrug and raised her hand showing off her ring.
Cam gasped and ran to her, “OH MY GOD!!!” She looked at the ring. “Oh my god!”
Anna smiled and I wrapped my arms around her waist. “I told you boys last night that I’ll be doing this right.” I said, “No mating until after the wedding.”
“What?” Jake whined, “That’s boring.”
“It’s what’s right.” Cam snapped, then she hugged Anna, so I let go of her, “Oh, I’m so happy for you.”
Anna hugged her back, “Thanks Cam…”
The short time that we’ve been here, Cam had become a real good friend of ours. And good thing too, without Serenity here, I was scared that I have to leave Anna with the boys or the guards all the time. At least with Cam, she’ll have someone to talk with.
“Congratulations man.” I turned and saw Eric stretching out his hand.
I shook his hand, “I’m expecting that you’ll be up next?”
He chuckled, “One step at a time.”
I laughed and turned to Uncle Luke who was standing in front of me, “Your mom would be very proud of you.” He said shaking my hand, “She just loved that you were mated to Anna.”
I grinned, “I think she made a deal with the fates to make her my mate.” I glanced at Anna who was giving Eric a hug and whispered something to him making him laugh and nod. “As if I was crazy not to wish for the same thing.”
“She’s a great girl.” Uncle Luke says, putting one hand over my shoulder, “And I’m sure Liam will kill you if you hurt her. He is like his sister, you know. That makes her like my daughter.”
“There’s no need to remind me.” I said.
With that the boys walked up to me, and continued teasing me about not mating her last night but still congratulated me.
By afternoon, everyone had heard of the engagement and had come to congratulate us. A pack meeting along with the alphas had been called for tonight by Eric, being my beta, to announce it formally.
We were on our way to the meeting with the alphas and I was planning to make it fast. I didn’t want to see them again after this unless I have to.
“It’ll be chaotic today.” Aaron says, not happy about the meeting one bit.
“It’s bound to be.” Jake added, “We’re asking them to do what they don’t want to.”
“It’s there duty to answer to the need of the daughter.” I reminded them, “And she needs the shifters now more than ever.”
I heard Eric sigh beside me and slid his hand in his pocket.
“You ok?” I asked.
He forced a smile, “Yeah, I just want this to be over with and start the actual search.”
“Ditto.” Jake and Aaron said in unison.
“We will find her, with or without the help of the others.” I said, “Right now, I need them to believe that this isn’t just because of Serenity but for the safety of others shifters as well.” I remembered the list of names of shifters that Uncle Luke had shown us when we were going through dad’s files, they were the shifters who were killed by the hunters, murdered for there blood.
The guards outside the war room opened the door and Aaron and Jake gave the same orders I had yesterday. I didn’t think that anyone will betray us, but then again, if news of the plan went out into public, it will spread like wildfire. The only way it will reach the hunters is if they capture a shifter and torture the information out of him or her, which is very possible right now.
Eric and I walked up to the front of the room, Jake and Aaron were on our heels. I stood in front and they all stood up and bowed.
“Good day.” I greeted, not liking to be bowed at, but to voice it out would mean weakness to him and his authoritativeness.
“Good day your highness.” They all said.
“Please sit.” I said, they does as told.
Wonder what they’d do if you say dance. Aaron sent over out mind link.
They’d probably boogie there ass off. Jake added.
I grinned, and heard Eric clear his throat, obviously hiding his laughter as well.
We had joined Eric in our mind link seeing he is my beta, while he will be the one to send the message to his pack. I didn’t even know that it was possible to have a multiple mind link. It was probably because he had two wolves on him.
I frowned remembering Serenity.
“Well, I hope you all have made your decision of supporting our search for my sister.” I said going straight to the point.
Then I caught Eric’s uncle stand up, his hand over his heart, “The Crystal Falls is at your service, King Siam.”
“Thank you, alpha Marx.” I said. I knew they were doing this for Eric, seeing he is there alpha, making Serenity their alpha female. But I didn’t care, they were to help us, who was I to complain?
Besides, it looks like it had sparked a couple more of alphas and had offered there help.
Soon, there were ten alphas from America to help, the head alpha of Asia and Europe had also offered their help.
“Thank you so much.” I said, grateful. “I would keep in contact within the day to meet up with you again.”
They nodded with sincere smiles.
“To other matters that still concerns the hunters.” I said looking around. “My sister had made a deal that they are to not harm anyone, I want to make sure they keep the end of their deal, at least until my sister is with them. The moment they break their word,” I frowned, “we will counter attack.”
“That is-“
“Right now, I don’t care what you think, quite frankly.” I said, alpha tone was now present. “If my sister is paying for our safety with her life, I will not let it be wasted. Am I understood?”
I received a few glares and nods.
“I said am I clear?” I said again, this time they sat up and answered yes. “I have respected your decisions of not helping us, the least you can do is do your job to keep our kind safe.”
They all looked away as I stepped back from the podium. Eric, Jake and Aaron stood up as well and we walked toward the door, that’s when I heard it.
Strutting around without a proper crown.
“What was that?” Aaron snapped.
They all turned to us. It was obvious that my friends were angered by this.
“If you must know the late King Silver had handed the crown to his son even before he died,” Jake said with a growl.
I caught a few eyes widened, “I don’t know how some of you had become alphas, but judging on how you speak and think, you are unworthy of the position.” Eric said.
“Who are you to speak of who’s worthy if you aren’t even the proper alpha of Crescent Moon.”
“But he is a pure blood and alpha of Crystal Falls.” Alpha Marx says in his defense. “I believe he has more rights than any of us here.”
That shut them all up, for some reason.
“I am not here to get your approval of being your king. But let me tell you this.” They all turned to me, “I have no intention of handing it over so easily to any of you the one thing that reminds me of my father greatly.”
With that said I turned and left them.
I was in the kitchen, a glass of water in my hand, staring at the table top, thinking. I was so lost in my thought that I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Hey…” Anna took a step back and raised her hands up, “it’s just me.”
I sighed and reached out to her, “Sorry, babe, I’m just…”
She gave me a sad smile, “Hard day already?”
“You have no idea.” I said, pulling her in a half hug, she wrapped her arms around my waist, “Not that it’s a big deal but they didn’t even said congratulations.”
She blushed, “I don’t really care if they don’t, I don’t care if they give us there blessing, you can just go all ninja alpha.”
I laughed and gave her a proper hug, she rested her head on my shoulder and sighed.
“Did it go well?” she asked.
I frowned, “We got twelve alphas to help, mostly those who were quite close to dad.” She sighed again, “Its better than nothing.”
“I know.” She said, “Its just that, it proves what Uncle Luke said, don’t it? That we shifter aren’t as united as we are supposed to be.”
“I guess they’re just scared for their packs’ safety, I would be too.”
She then looked up at me worried, “Are you scared?”
“I am.” I admitted. “But I’m more scared of not having Serenity with us.”
She nodded and laid her head back, and let a comfortable silence take over.
After a few seconds I stifled a laugh and held her tighter beside me. “Thanks.”
“For what?” she asked.
“I needed to know that you didn’t care about them either.” I said, “Plus that I got your blessing to go alpha ninja on them.”
She laughed and then she looked up at me, “We haven’t told him.”
I didn’t need to ask her who, “You want to go now?” she gave me a nod. At the same moment Eric stepped into the kitchen with Uncle Luke. “You going to the hospital?”
“Yeah.” Uncle Luke smiled and gave Anna a knowing Luke, “You want to come?”
“Yup!” she said and slid out of my arms and hopped toward Uncle Luke who put an arm around her shoulder and they walked toward the door leading to the main hall.
“You telling Liam?” Eric asked as he pulled out a bottle of water from the fridge.
I grinned, “You know Anna, besides, it won’t be the same if I don’t tell him. He was the first person I told about being mated to Anna after all.”
Eric leaned on the fridge and grinned, “I’m betting he didn’t let you off the hook easily.”
I chuckled remembering the few weeks after I told him, “At first he kept nagging, then he stopped talking to me altogether, then I guess he just let it go.”
“Sounds just like Liam.” Eric says.
“Guys c’mon!” Anna shouted from the main hall.
“Jake and Aaron are already in the car.” Eric said, I nodded and went to follow my mate’s voice to the main hall.
At the end, the whole gang left for the hospital. Eric didn’t want cam out of his sight, and somehow, Jake agreed. Aaron did too, but just so he had someone to laugh and joke with, which was irritating Jake.
“Will you two shut up?” he snapped as we walk toward Liam’s room.
“What got your panties in a bunch?” Aaron says.
“You’re in a hospital.” Jake snaps, “People are asleep.”
“Fine.” Aaron shrugged, not wanting to get Jake angrier.
“Kill joy.” Cam said under her breath, Jake groaned and walked ahead.
Eric and I smirked as he walk beside me. Uncle Luke was walking ahead of us with a skipping Anna beside him. who was giggling at something Uncle Luke said.
“You ok, lover boy?” I teased.
“Shut up.” he growled.
“I can see you are in such a good mood.” I said. “Maybe you should go see the babies at the maternity ward.”
Jake rolled his eyes and didn’t bother replying.
“Hey, chill bro.” Eric tapped him on the shoulder, “You’ll get use to it.”
“Get use to what exactly?” Jake asks.
“Having a mate.” We said in unison.
He groaned again, “You boys are delirious.” He said, “Maybe I should put you here with Liam. Get your heads check up?”
“Whatever.” I said when we finally reached the room.
Inside, Anna was sitting on Liam’s bed, and had her hand in front of him and talking to him as if he was awake.
“… just like you said. So, he kept his promise so you don’t need to go after him, you hear me Liam?” she said, he didn’t respond.
I frowned and stared at them, particularly at Liam who was still in coma. But that didn’t stop Anna on going crazy with details of what she and Liam had obviously talked about before.
I caught her staring at Liam, for a second her smile faltered, and tears were trying to escape. So I stepped behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist.
“You hear that Liam?” I repeated, “You can’t hurt me cause I kept my promise. So I need you to keep your promise too that you’ll be my beta until we hand it to our kids.”
He stayed motionless.
“But I hope you forgive me that I can’t wait for you to wake up for the wedding.” I said, “But I’ll be glad to do it all over again after you wake up, you cool with that buddy?”
Silence.
“I think he’d like that.” Uncle Luke said.
“As I hope you’d like to walk me down the aisle?” Anna asked, hopeful.
Uncle Luke smiled, “I’ll be offended if you didn’t ask me.”
Anna smiled then turned to me, “I hope Serenity wouldn’t mind. I mean, with your dad gone…”
I shook my head and kissed her on the temple, “I’m sure she’ll understand. Maybe Liam can walk her down the aisle.”
I glanced at Eric who just smiled. “They’d both like that.”
“I’m sure.”
“Man, I can’t believe you are still sleeping up to now.” Aaron said, acting with us. “Want me to bring a girl to keep you company?”
Cam hit him the head this time with Jake. “Ow!”
“Inappropriate.” Cam said.
“Idiot.” Jake says at the same time.
We all laughed.
“Well other than you asleep and Serenity missing, all else is good son.” Uncle Luke said.
Later that night we were in a luau that Cam prepared for us, in celebration of our engagement. We were walking around thanking everyone along the way.
Anna was with Cam at the moment while I was talking with the other male shifters, talking of news from the main city.
“The area had been cleaned and there had been no signs of hunters.” Jude says.
They turned to me, “Would we be going home soon, highness?” Gary asks.
“I don’t think so.” I said. “Father’s plan was to stay away from there for a year.”
“Then we’ll be going to the Royal Pack house at least?”
“No.” I said again, “We’ll be staying here until Serenity is found. This is her home,” I said smiling at Eric who gave me a thankful smile, “we will protect this place as if it was the Royal houses. At least until Serenity comes home.”
They all nodded. Then I caught Eric’s beta, Kirk, walking up to us, looking serious. Eric turned to him, frowning. Then he whispered something that not even my ears caught. Eric nodded and glanced at me., with just a look I understood.
“Excuse us boys, I just need to talk with someone.” I said.
Eric and I left them and walked toward the boys. I looked around and caught Anna’s eyes who frowned.
I’ll be right back. I said. I glanced at Uncle Luke who gave me a nod and he moved to where Anna and Cam were.
Along the way Jake and Aaron found there way toward us.
“What’s up?” Aaron asked, he’s on serious mode.
“A rogue was caught by the borders.” Kirk said.
“And?” Jake asked.
“Bears news regarding the hunters.”
“Has he spoken to anyone?” Eric asked.
“No.” Kirk said. “Apparently the news regarding the Daughter being abducted had spread, the alpha of the first town sent the rogue here escorted of course.”
“He must have some delicate news with him.”
“She.” Kirk says.
“She?”
“The rogue is a she.”
“A she?” Aaron asked.
Eric and I sighed, “is he marked?” I asked for both Eric and I.
“I’m not sure.” He said. “It’ll be hard to tell.”
“What do you mean you aren’t sure?” Jake snapped.
“See for yourself.” Kirk said as he opened the door and inside we saw a girl being healed by Mama Ellena.
We all stared at her, and I knew why Kirk can’t catch a scent.
A prostitute.
