Chapter 13 Cold blooded killers
Olivia's POV,
There was always that fear of guns that still existed in me. The sound of deafening gunshots brought back harsh memories of the night my parents were brutally murdered.
The agony which dwelled in me was something I couldn't control when Luciano tried to drag me away to safety. My killing instinct awakened as if someone had just poured a bucket of ice water on me, turning every part of my body to stiffen. I didn't understand why, so I took the vase from the nearby table and hit him with it.
He let go of me and slowly dropped to the ground holding his bleeding head, and without wasting time I took to my heels.
I didn't even know the men shouting for me to stop when I fled for my life. Maybe I wasn't ready for this. The bloody images still haunted me, and the need to escape to a place I could be alone was imperative.
The agonizing voices of my parents crying out for help as the guns fired deafened my ears such that I couldn't breathe anymore as my legs moved at a high degree, the heels slamming on the hard ground that I didn't realize I could run this fast in heels.
I didn't stop running until I took a turn at a hidden corner. Reaching my hand to my chest as my heart thumped violently. My eyes were watering from the wind which was blowing on my face and when I was fully calm. My head lifted, only to find myself in a place that wasn't so familiar. I wiped my face together with my eyes and lifted the Hem of my dress as I tried to look around for anything familiar.
“Where am I?” I muttered as I rested my hand on the wall and used it as support to walk. I didn't realize my legs had started paining again until I took a step. Feeling irritated with the sudden pain. I lowered down and kicked off my heels and when my feet hit the ground. The coldness rose in my legs, causing a shiver to rush me.
“I wonder where that man is, “I said, feeling irritated. How on Earth didn't Pedro tell me that such a massacre would happen here. I didn't even have a good time making Luciano miserable when that happened, unfortunately.
“Who do you think you are to double-cross me?” I heard a deep male voice say. Stopping in my tracks, I instantly glanced back hoping no one followed me because I knew how these dark alleys worked.
“Strange,” I said when I didn't see anyone or hear any footsteps approaching. I thought I was hearing things; hence I continued my journey, hoping to get to the main road when.
“Please don't do this… I'm begging you… please” this time it was another man begging. The voices were coming from the small road between the tall buildings. I stopped, not sure what to do, but when I heard a familiar voice, I was even more curious.
“You'll die like the pig you are…how dare you act smart, huh,” I wasn't wrong when I heard Pedro's? I slowly changed my direction to where the voices were coming from and when I reached there, I had to hide away but peeked out to see a man kneeling and another tall man dressed in all black standing away from him pointing a gun at the kneeling.
“Even if you kill me…it won't change anything”the man begging cried out, and I heard the one in the suit chuckle and wave his gun in the air.
My eyes narrowed hoping I could see the tall man's face, unfortunately, the little light coming from the building on top wasn't doing much but what I saw was he was wearing a black mask. His suit looked so familiar.
“I have no heart…my men are already at your house…your entire family will die miserably,” the tall man said in a dark tone that even my back hair rose just hearing his voice. Was he the man responsible for the shoot-out earlier? Who was he? All I did was stand there as I heard all the death threats against the man begging and soon another man joined them? This man dragged someone with him and threw him in front of the man kneeling.
“No…not my brother…he's my brother you killed you!” the man cried as he rushed to his supposed brother. Did he die because he wasn't moving, and the two giant men towered over them?
“Tell me where I can find my weapons or this will be your wife,” again back to the tall man who I wanted to see badly. Such men were supposed to be behind bars, rotting away for causing others pain. The anger I felt when hearing that man begging and crying out for help made me reach for my ears, blocking them completely.
“It's over for you” I heard. A man said and when I looked up, I witnessed the man was killed in cold blood. I couldn't hear any gunshots, but I knew he was pulling the trigger and killing mercilessly. The man-made one last gasp, and he collapsed to the ground, fitting as more bullets were embedded in his body…the scenery was so frightening that I felt dizzy and the eels in my hand slipped out and fell to the ground making a slight sound which alerted the tall man and the other one.
“Get them” he ordered obviously to get me, unfortunately I couldn't do anything as I tried to think what to do… Regaining my wits. I looked at myself and prepared to run away from the murderer when.
“And where are you going?” someone grabbed me by the arm, pulling me back. I panicked trying to run when I was shoved down the pavement.
“Let…let me go!”I shouted at the top of my lungs when I looked up and saw the two men standing before me.
“You?”
“What the heck are you doing here?” Both the men I knew said in shock and when I flipped my hair to the sides of my face I was beyond shocked to see Pedro and Zane.
“Hey, boss…I didn't find…” this time someone came running and upon shifting my gaze to the lady approaching she stopped and cursed multiple times.
“W-who are you all?”I asked and started crawling backward. These people were murderers.
“Olivia it's…it's not what…damn it get up will you,” Pedro said but sounded irritated as he tossed the gun in his hand he kept waving around scaring me? Zane lowered to pick it up.
“Don't touch me!" all of them were nothing but killers. I saw how he killed that man in cold blood. What if they killed me too.
“It's okay…we won't hurt you” Pedro tried coaxing, but I didn't want to listen. His hands were stained with blood. He just killed someone, for goodness’s sake. I've been living with cold-blooded killers.
