Chapter 43 Jealousy
After getting ready, Olivia felt refreshed. Although her body was still in agony. Ira had given her some medicine to keep her stable.
Olivia was done showering and settled for black leggings and a black vest with white sneakers. Her hair was tied in a ponytail, and she proceeded downstairs.
Before she could hit the gym with Ira, she decided to grab a bottle of water just in case. The glass cup in her hand was empty; hence she took it with her.
The house was rather quiet. Getting downstairs. Olivia just wanted to stay away from Pedro. She didn't like the way he treated her. Upon reaching the kitchen. She heard voices. Stopping in her tracks.
Olivia was about to turn back when she heard Pedro's voice, however, something else made her stop.
“Did you miss me… baby, I know you missed me?” she heard a low female voice. It was familiar, the voice of the same lady who came to that room.
“Pedro … please… what should I do… so you can forgive me,” the woman said again. Olivia was glued there. The need to go was imperative, sensing a private conversation.
“You love me… just admit it,” again the lady said. This time. Things sounded heated. Olivia was disturbed. What was Pedro doing in the kitchen? With ease, she bent down to peek through the slightly open door when.
“Please… make love to me… Ahh… I missed you… I missed this” the lady was shamelessly touching Pedro. Olivia saw as she ripped his shirt and was touching him inappropriately.
The way Pedro had his arms wrapped around her back didn't sit well with her.
“Yes… ahh… I want this,” the woman was moaning like a fool. Anger boiled within Olivia. The sight of Pedro kissing that woman back. He was even pulling her until her legs wrapped around his waist.
His shirt was unbuttoned. The lady was wearing a short dress. Her cleavage was showing.
Olivia's eyes flickered a little. Her hands clenched tightly around the glass cup and her knuckles cracked. She couldn't take it and before anything could escalate, the glass in her hand slipped out and shattered on the ground. The loud, this startled Hannah and Pedro.
Climbing off Pedro, Hannah frowned, shifting her gaze. She fixed her dress and slowly approached the door. Olivia remained unmoved. She was unable to hold her anger. The rage burning within her.
“Who are you?” Hannah asked coldly once she opened the door, only to find the same woman she saw in Pedro's room.
Regaining her wits, Olivia glanced up at the lady. The fact that her lips were in Pedro. Shifting her gaze inside the kitchen. Olivia saw Pedro standing there leaning against the kitchen counter. He didn't seem bothered, nor did he seem embarrassed.
“I came to get water… please excuse me,” cheekily, Olivia pushed her way inside. Ignoring Hannah completely, she made her way to the refrigerator. Secretly glancing to the sides. Her gaze met with Pedro. He seemed cold and aloof. His expression wasn't as usual.
After angrily getting a bottle of water. Olivia slammed the refrigerator door shut and turned to leave when the blonde hussy blocked her.
“Next time… mind your timing… I hate interruptions,” Hannah warned bitterly. Olivia was stunned at the woman's guts. Glancing over their shoulders, Olivia was even more shocked because Pedro didn't say a word.
“This is a kitchen… not a slut bedroom,” Olivia spat out, shocking the lady before her. With ease, she pushed Hannah out of the way and stormed out of the kitchen.
"Fools' 'Olivia muttered and left from there. Who told them, the kitchen was a brothel.
“Who is she? Sacha, you saw how she insulted me!” Hannah was angry, her chest rising and falling steadily. She hated arrogant women like that girl. The guts she had to insult her.
“I have work,” Pedro said and left the kitchen as well, leaving Hannah fuming in anger. Her eyes are sharp, like a blade about to slice a soul into pieces.
***
While Olivia was trying to understand where the anger she was feeling came from. Sydney had just arrived for work. By now the agency was functioning properly.
With many employees. She saw how Alfredo was dedicated to his work. He was passionate. The only flaw he had was being Garcia.
His last name was tainted. She hated that fact. Knowing his family bathed in innocent blood. She hadn't forgotten what they did. For that. They deserved punishment.
“I'm sorry… we can't save her. The only thing we need to do is find the person who staged all this,” Sydney heard upon reaching Alfredo's office. The door was slightly open; hence she could see the man in a suit, probably a lawyer's attire.
Alfredo sat in his chair gracefully.
“How do we find them… moreover… the criminals who shot my brother,” Alfredo said. By now, Sydney was quietly eavesdropping. Luciano was shot. If so, then who did it? Sydney loved the sound of that. Any pain Garcia suffered was music to her ear.
“I have my men on it… I'm sure very soon the culprit will be found,” the same lawyer said. It was indeed a great thing.
“What do you think… Who's doing this?” Alfredo asked the lawyer. Sydney waited to hear what the lawyer had to say. She, too, was surprised how the Garcia's were suffering one tragedy after the other.
“Sir… I believe something is going on… someone out to seek revenge… if you ask me. I'd say, a group of people playing their cards well,” the lawyer elaborated. Sydney listened carefully.
She didn't feel bad one bit.
Sydney stood there, listening carefully. According to the lawyer. Someone was getting revenge on the Garcia family. It turned out karma was slowly catching up to them.
Thinking up here. Sydney was more than thrilled. She would love to meet whoever was doing this just to thank them. However, her sinister thoughts were cut short when the door suddenly opened.
Startling her back to reality. Sydney awkwardly stepped out of the way when the lawyer came out.
“H-hello” she stuttered, not sure what to do.
“Hmm,” the lawyer hummed and left from there. Cradling the files in her arms. Sydney exhaled a little and pushed the door open.
It was rare to see Alfredo lost in thoughts. When she walked in. He looked up. He seemed tired. Dark circles around his eyes. The lines on his forehead showed how exhausted he was.
“The files' sir,” she said, placing the files on the table. Alfredo didn't utter a word but waved her off.
“How is he?” Sydney asked. Despite how terrible Luciano was, she decided to ask.
With ease, Alfredo glanced up. Narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
“Aren't you supposed to be happy… I mean, you should be celebrating right now,” Alfredo said coldly. Sydney failed to understand him.
“I should, but I'm not heartless like your family,” Sydney remarked with the same tone Alfredo used.
“Get out," Alfredo muttered, burying his face in his palms. Sydney lingered there a little, but decided to leave. She couldn't care less what he was going through. She wished his entire family would disappear. For now, she needed to find out who Livia Gonzalez was.
There was something about the lady she didn't understand. Which was why in the evening she asked Livia out for coffee.
