Chapter 45 Got into trouble
Olivia was aware that seeing Sydney was risky. However, she couldn't help it. She missed her friend more than anything, Sydney was all alone. Even if she had to go against Pedro, then so be it.
“It's nice to have you here, Livia,” Sydney said with a smile. Ira nodded while munching on the snacks Olivia and Sydney were ignoring.
“Don't worry, I'm sure we'll be having more frequent outings” Olivia said with a chuckle. After a long time, she felt refreshed. The times she used to talk to Sydney. Both used to go out however they wanted.
However, now, she had to pretend to be someone else.
The three continued eating and talking about random things. The entire time, Ira kept quiet. She didn't come to chit-chat, but to watch Olivia. Making sure she didn't blow her cover.
“I still can't say… I mean, that family is going down… god knows who's trying to end them,” Sydney said with a questionable expression. As much as she wanted the Garcia's to pay. She felt bad for Alfredo.
“They deserve it… the Garcia's think they own the world” Ira chimed in while gulping down the delicious coffee. She already had four cups of coffee, and each one tasted better than the next.
“How so… have they done anything to you?” Sydney asked Ira. As if realizing what she just said. Ira glanced up at Sydney. Tilting her head. She found Olivia glaring at her.
“Oh… no, no… it's just that I've heard so many horrible things about them” Ira said defensively, not sure why she opened her mouth.
“Oh okay… anyway… Let's just say karma is taking root,“ Sydney remarked, and Olivia nodded. Time was ticking, Luciano was in the hospital fighting for his life. What happened to him was nothing.
“Hey… umm, I'll be right back,” Olivia said, excusing herself.
“Sure,” Ira and Sydney said, waving her off, and Olivia nodded and left. She didn't feel right. Her body was tense, not sure why, but her head was spinning.
Leaving the shop, she walked down the corridors leading to the lady's restroom. One thing she knew. She didn't drink any alcoholic beverages, so why was she feeling dizzy.
“Damn it” she stumbled around, nearly falling. Her vision was getting blurry. She couldn't see properly, especially where she was going.
With ease, she rested her hands against the wall, trying to balance on her feet. Her head was spinning so much that she didn't even know where she was going.
“Get her,” a male voice said when Olivia landed on the come floor with a thud.
“She's the one… tie her up,” the same man ordered, and four more men dressed in black and covering their faces with black masks took out ropes.
“The boss will be happy,” the man said with a smirk, scanning the beauty before him. Too bad, the boss wanted her dead.
“Boss… she's good to go,“ one of the men said once they tied her up. Restrained her legs and hands. The man who seemed to be the boss of the group smirked and threw a black sack at Olivia.
“Put her in and make sure you bring her out without anyone seeing you,” the man said and walked away, leaving his men to deal with the matter.
While Olivia was unconscious and tied up, Sydney had gotten outside the café when she received a call from Alfredo. Surprisingly. The man was there too for work.
“I wanted the file you took earlier…” Alfredo said while running his hands in his hair. He came for a late-night meeting. However, he blew it. His assistant had the papers he needed to show the client.
“My bad… I'm off the clock,” Sydney said because it wasn't working hours.
“Who are you with?” Alfredo asked, wondering who Sydney came to see at the café. It was getting late. Sydney nodded awkwardly. For one thing, she wasn't thinking when she left her apartment without a coat. It was getting cold.
“Here… wear this” Alfredo said, taking off his coat and preparing to put it around Sydney's shoulders when she stopped him.
“I'm good… I'll get back inside,” Sydney stuttered and prepared to go back in when Alfredo grabbed her arm. Stopping her from leaving. Turning her wrong, Alfredo draped the black coat around Sydney's shoulders. Carefully pulling her closer to him.
“It's cold out here,” Alfredo muttered and secured the cost around the woman. She was so naive, she never took care of herself.
“Let me drive you home,” Alfredo muttered while fixing her hair. Sydney had frozen in time. Why was he so nice to her?
“No, thank you… my friends are waiting for me,” she murmured and turned to leave when he held her hand. Glancing up, Sydney's heart skipped a beat.
“My apologies for my behavior earlier… I had a lot on my mind, ” Alfredo murmured while caressing her face. Sydney was dumbstruck, caught in awe that she didn't know what was happening.
“It's nothing… I'll take my leave now,'' she said, returning the coat to him when Alfredo unexpectedly pulled him in his arms.
Her face slammed against his solid chest, his arms wrapped around her small frame, and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
Sydney felt his lips parting, his hot breath tickling her could flesh that a warm sensation rushed through her rendering her useless.
“Just a little bit,” Alfredo muttered, tightening his grip around her. Sydney felt his heart thumping against her chest. She had to go back inside and see Olivia; however, Alfredo hugging her was something she didn't expect.
In the shadows, Zane had his gun up and pointed at Alfredo, who had his back facing him. Anger boiled within him as the need to kill clouded his mind.
“You dare?” he muttered and pulled the trigger.

“What! How did it happen…for goodness's sake!?” Ira was raging as she paced around. She didn't know such a thing would happen. Olivia had disappeared into thin air. Someone abducted her because she found her earring in the corridors near the restroom.
“Boss will kill us… we tried to stop the van but unfortunately, they started shooting,” the man who was asked to watch Olivia in the shadows said, running his hands in his hair. He wanted to avoid shooting back because he would have alerted the people around.
“Don't just stand there… find her or else Sacha will have our heads!” Ira shouted and took out her phone. She needed Zane and Gabby on this before Pedro got a whiff of the incident.
Ira, hiding the truth, did nothing when Pedro already got wind of the incident, who was sitting in a private lounge with an elderly man sitting before him, glanced at his phone. The red light was flashing.
“You shouldn't do this Pedro… at least stop” the man sitting in front of him said. Pedro took his time responding. His eyes fixed on his phone.
“Uncle Bruce… if you called me here, so you can convince me to spare your family… then you've failed,“ Pedro said calmly, looking at his uncle frowning at him. Bruce stared at his nephew for a while. He was busy causing havoc.
“He's your brother… try to understand… if not for Luciano… do it for Lia… she's young and innocent,” Bruce said, hoping Pedro would stop the bloodshed once and for all and embrace his family.
“Your family, not mine… I won't spare them… protect them as much as you can” Pedro muttered, clenching his hand tightly. His eyes shot with rage. Bruce was his uncle too. He didn't pick sides. Pedro respected him because he once gave him and his mother shelter in the past. Taking a sip of water, Bruce straightened his back. Scanning his nephew a little.
“Luciano won't sit still once he wakes up… he's already onto you”
“Even better… I'm tired of hiding and attacking in the shadows… let him come and face me head on” Pedro remarked nonchalantly. He couldn't care less what happened to the Garcias. Their destruction was his satisfaction.
“For now… stay away from me… I have somewhere to go,” Pedro said and placed cash on the table…tapped his fingers twice on the table and left from there. Olivia had gotten herself into trouble.
