That thing that he did
Alpha Zayne Steele
Zayne decided to speak with Sacha in his quest to set the females straight. But little did he know that Sacha was already deciding to move on from him.
Zayne had spoken to Leandra over a week ago, but with Sacha, he wanted to clear things up.
He got the chance to talk to her the week after the meeting.
Zayne had allowed her behavior for far too long simply because of the tragedy she faced when she and her brother lost their parents in a brutal attack from this same entity.
Zayne knew he would never accept her advances, but it must stop. He needed to make it very clear for the millionth time that he did not sleep around with she-wolves from his community.
This time he would make it clear that he was not interested in her, she needed to stop her relentless advancements, and that she would never be his Luna.
Maybe he needed to be harsh to get her to back off.
In the end, Alpha Zayne was not as harsh with his voice. However, in his calmest, sincerest, and most caring voice, he had told her straight as it was.
Then he had seen the moment when she had accepted the truth.
Sacha had been a bother to him for years, and she was also mean to those who had shown the slightest interest in him over the past few years, and Zayne was sick of it.
He was surprised that Leandra had not said anything because, knowing Sacha, he was sure she would have cornered the girl at one point or the other.
So it needed to be done, and besides, maybe, just maybe, she might stop looking in his direction long enough to see there was a wolf that would give his life for her, not one floor up from hers.
Beta Mekhi Williams, the Date.
That Saturday night, Mekhi met up with Mira at the restaurant. She was sitting in the second booth on the restaurant's left. He spotted her as he entered.
He was greeted at the door, and he informed the waiter that he was meeting someone, and he pointed out Mira.
"Oh, yes, table two is expecting you." The waiter said and ushered Mekhi over.
On seeing Mekhi, Mira got up and literally jumped into his arms and kissed him passionately.
Mekhi was not surprised. He kissed her back, only if Sacha would greet him this way.
He had broken the kiss, and they settled into light conversations at first, catching up.
Mira always made her intentions clear regarding Mekhi; he had met her four years ago at a bar, and they hit it off.
He and Zayne were on their nightly prowling when he met Mira. They had hooked up numerous times that first year of meeting; however, things got hectic when Zayne started his Elite squad.
Things had eventually fizzled out between them, but both parties knew exactly what it was. Pleasure and nothing more.
It seemed like Mira had missed him. Why? Why was it not Sacha in his arms? But no, she was going out of her way to avoid him.
Nevertheless, after all the pleasantries and catching while they had ordered and started their meals, Mekhi got down to business.
He explained that they were currently investigating an entity that had been kidnapping people off the streets.
Mekhi had told her he was working freelance with a private investigator, a wealthy family had paid top dollar to locate their missing daughter, and that the trail had led to a building where they found everything destroyed except for this USB.
Mekhi had held it up. Mekhi had gotten her attention at 'kidnapping people.'
Mira was a twenty-five-year-old human who was well-versed in Information Technology, software programming, development, expert hacker, and so much more.
She had developed software that banks and insurance companies use, making her millions at a young age. She lived alone, estranged from her family.
They had never supported her dreams, always telling her that this career was not a successful path as the field was already riddled with those types and that she was wasting their time and money with this dream she was pursuing.
Nevertheless, Mira ignored them and continued her studies, and when she launched her first app and made her first two and a half million, she paid her parents back. She never looked back.
These people did not deserve to enjoy the fruits of her labor along with her because all they did was undermine her decisions and fight her on them every step of the way.
Their favorite would be to say that the job was for those who were lazy and didn't want to get off their a$$ and do hard labor, and her father never respected her, calling her lazy because all she would be doing was sitting in front of a computer all day.
Mira never understood her father's old-school logic, and she never fought them about it anymore. She quietly continued to pursue her studies and excelled.
Now she lived alone, it was a lonely life, and she missed her fun times with Mekhi. Though she thought Mekhi was very secretive, she felt like he showed her just enough, only what was on the surface.
But it didn't matter to her. Mira was not looking to marry the guy. She just wanted the pleasure she knew he could bring her, so when she received a call from Mekhi, it was all she could think of.
Oh, how she had missed his skillful tongue, that thing that he did. Her pvssy had a mad fit of spasm at the idea.
She agreed immediately but wanted to have dinner and a night with him. She had only told him about the dinner part over the phone, but she planned to lay down the rules for her to work on this for him.
Mira would not charge him, obviously. His money was not what she wanted from him.
"Ok, I will do it on one condition," Mira answered Mekhi with a sexy smirk playing on her lips, batting her long thick dark eyelashes at him, and Mekhi knew instantly what she wanted.
And hell, for the information on this USB, he did not mind doing what he needed to do for it.
Mira was a petite, sexy woman with long jet-black hair and a tattoo of a tiger wrapped around her upper right arm, with piercing green eyes.
Mekhi did not mind at all.
They quickly paid and left to spend the night together, and the next day she told him to give her a few days to work her magic.
The next day, on his way back to his community, Mekhi thought of Sacha and recalled last night, he had made passionate love to Mira, hoping to forget about Sacha even for a moment.
But instead, he imagined it was Sacha for the entire night.
He imagined it was Sacha, even as Mira had screamed and moaned his name. How much longer would he be hung up on a woman that was hung up on another?
Mekhi realized he needed to start getting over Sacha. She had stomped on his heart vigorously when all she did after their time together was blatantly hide from him.
He had vowed to keep his distance and never approach her again, so he was surprised a week later when she had cornered him to ask if he had not come home that Saturday.
Did she notice? Well, obviously, Mekhi, she was asking about it.
Then she ran like some wild beast was chasing her when he confirmed it. Why though?
Mekhi and Zayne had a vital video call with Colonel De Four. When she accosted him, he was going to Zayne's home office for the call. And Goddess, he could not run behind her as duty called.
Goddess, he had swiped his hands over his face, women!
Now back to some exciting news two weeks later, the Friday before the ball. Zayne and Mekhi sat in his office, bouncing ideas off each other on ways to get in and stay in this shindig.
That crazy week he had ended on a grand note and an even better one after his talks with the colonel. However, by Wednesday of the following week, things got even better from then on because now, he had got his breakthrough with Alpha Thornton.
Their recruiting plans were on the way as well as all their surveillance teams were on their targets.
Finally, Zayne had thought, "Finally, we caught a break with Alpha Theodore Claude Thornton, a small one, but it was still something." Zayne had told Mekhi.
