Unconventional Date
Shawn and Kirrah
"Baby, you good?" Shawn asked. "Yes, babe, I am good," Kirrah blushed. Kirrah stood with a gun cocked beside him as they prepared to break into a motel room.
On this Friday night, Shawn decided to take Kirrah with him while he checked out a lead. The lead they got together today led them to Motel California off-highway Ninety-Two for their date.
Shawn already felt he knew Kirrah and figured she would love something like this as a date. Kirrah was petit but tough. She was not the girly girl. But she kept herself well.
Her nails were short and chipped. Giving Shawn the impression that she likes to get her hands dirty from time to time, and though petit, she had some muscles on her in a sexy way.
Nevertheless, Shawn knew this was unconventional, but he sensed that though she would appreciate a lovely intimate dinner, she would not enjoy herself as much as she was enjoying herself now.
The two of them working side by side and are about to bust in on Ron's hideout.
Kirrah was simply perfection in Shawn's eyes.
Kirrah also helped him with this earlier today when he confided in her about his work.
They were up most of last night chatting away. However, Kirrah did most of the talking, sharing about her family and sister and what life was like growing up as a kid living in a community like TL.
Shawn shared as well that, unlike her, his life with his fellow werewolves got upended years ago when some entity had some kind of monster working alongside humans.
And he felt like that life was far behind him. Shawn had no family, and his best friend and business partner had died, which is why he gave up the business, settling for only one or two odd investigative jobs occasionally.
However, she asked, "So, what are you currently working on with this new move?"
Shawn had also informed her of his imprinting. However, she already knew that.
Kirrah had already known Jada was Aubrianne's witch protector and a wolf named Shawn was her warrior wolf. She had already put two and two together and came up with four.
Shawn did not want to lie to his mate, so he first confided in her about what he was working on right now, before he started working a typical job. Aubrianne had already lined up a position with her father for him to work as a bodyguard, something Shawn was comfortable with.
He explained Aubrianne's encounter at 'a club' one night, that Ron was a regular at the club, met Aubrianne one night almost two years ago, became wholly smitten, and did not take the news of her leaving pretty well.
Ron had attacked her, almost killing her that night. A little again, Aubrianne would never have made it to TL, which was personal to him, and this had led her to then ask about his relationship with Aubrianne.
Kirrah was utterly relieved to learn that they had a brother-sister type of relationship, and she had offered to assist him with his investigation. She said anything you need, only ask.
Then Kirrah gave him an idea of what she could bring to the table, as she was Aubrianne's head guard. Because of this, she had access to everything Alpha Thornton had access to.
Security systems and devices to track people, surveillance, tapping into live security feeds, and all the weapons and accessories you can think of.
Thornton had access to weapons that could flatten continents.
Nevertheless, Shawn gladly took her up on her offer, as he was working blindly here with limited resources, and when he found something, he had to reach out to John's guy, and the back and forth was too time-consuming for Shawn.
Kirrah's access could cut the time it would take down by half, more than half even—a quarter.
And, of course, Shawn did not give details as to the type of club or what Aubrianne was doing there; that was not his secret to tell. However, he explained everything else and that the club owner was looking for Ron.
And that the reason they did not find Ron was because he had already followed Aubrianne to TL.
After hearing this, Kirrah wondered if the scene she walked in on in the bathroom between Aubrianne and that guy had something to do with it, and she might have been able to help.
She was eager to help her mate.
She had access to the footage from the club, and by access, she had the hacker who could tap into the footage and pull what they needed. Kirrah had made the call and got the footage after she informed Shawn.
Kirrah had come out and told him she was also investigating some strange activities around Aubrianne, and maybe this was connected. She then informed him of the night they suspected someone was in Aubrianne's backyard.
Then the news that someone was following them had traveled fast after the Grey kids had mentioned it. And it was also one of the things she wanted to look at and was now beating herself up about because she had forgotten about it as everything seemed to be going so smoothly this past week.
They had developed a routine, and Aubrianne only went a few places. She went to work and back home for training. Aubrianne also visited her father a couple of times.
So, in Kirrah's book, the week was trouble-free, and she may have gotten a bit too relaxed.
Nevertheless, upon finally viewing the footage of the nightclub in question from the camera just outside the bathroom, Shawn instantly confirmed that it was indeed Ron.
Shawn had already known about the club incident. He remembered Jada calling him, screaming at the top of her voice. She was pissed. So he was genuinely hoping that what Kirrah provided could lead to Ron.
And it did. Shawn and Kirrah had followed Ron on the cameras of the entire club and the car park. They followed him out of the club and saw him speeding out of the car park.
Kirrah confirmed that was about when he ran out of the bathroom, leaving her and Aubrianne.
Now, they can zoom in and got a partial number plate. With the partial plate, color, and vehicle make and model, they tracked it to a car rental place.
Ron had paid cash. However, they got the false name he used, Penn Santiago, and they had gotten a ping off the Motel California register of that name being used by someone.
Though the motel was in terrible condition, they had a proper receipt system.
Nevertheless, now they were about to break into this run-down two-story motel, a wash-out dirty yellow in color. You can see the paint stripping away in certain areas.
Patches of green-like residue can be seen on certain parts of the walls, looking like mildew.
The building was shaped in an L, and the pair had driven into the car park and parked in the back, away from their intended target, and they quietly made their way to the dirty white door with the number twenty-two.
The compound only had two other vehicles parked about fifteen feet away from each other, giving them the assumption that not many people were there.
And upon further inspection, they did not see the vehicle Ron was in. However, he drove that last Thursday, so he may have switched cars by now.
They proceeded with caution. Nonetheless, they already had the room number, so there was no need to visit the reception. Plus, Kirrah prepared herself to throw Thornton's name around if anyone questioned them.
"Ok, on my account," Shawn spoke, lifting his small revolver in his hand, aimed and ready to shoot.
"One, two," BANG. Shawn counted and kicked in the door. His eyes darted around the room, "Clear."
On Shawn's assurance, Kirrah stepped in. Excitement and adrenaline rushed through her, "Looks like nobody is home." Kirrah observed.
The room on entry looked small, furnished with a bed jammed into the wall on the right and a small bedside table on either side of the bed.
A chest of drawers jammed on the wall on the left on entry with a forty-inch TV on it, and a door was next to the TV.
"By the looks," Shawn responded and motioned to Kirrah to check the door on her left as he checked graffiti thrown about the place and the wall covered with pictures and pieces of paper with information scribbled on it.
"Clear, it's the bathroom," Kirrah informed Shawn. "Babe, come and see this." Shawn beckoned Kirrah.
Coming to her mate's side, she tucked her weapon in its holster and saw what he was looking at...
