Jealousy
Aubrianne Ivanov
"I would like to know the same thing," placing the selected dress on the counter, Jada folded her arms and snared to a dumbfounded Jenna, who was surprised she got caught.
Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times.
Jenna thought she was being discreet, but Goddess, she could not help it, so this was the little pompek Daniel had been seeing. Having him suddenly act as if he was walking on f*cking cloud ten.
Who the f*ck was this mutt?
Jenna rapidly blinked, feigned a surprised look as she smiled, and decided to go with flattery. It always worked, "How can someone be so beautiful and move so gracefully?.. I am sorry; I... I did not mean to stare."
'Lies. Well, obviously, it's true, but that is not why she stares. She is jealous of us.' Leia perked up while Jada scrunched her nose up as if what Jenna just said stank, and it did.
Jada did not buy it for a second; that was a glare she saw.
And if she said those things, maybe she was jealous of Aubrianne, and Jada would keep an eye on her.
Jada regarded Jenna, eyebrows furrowed, eyes dimmed, and tilted her chin up, "If you say so." She pursed her lips and went into the dressing room.
Daniela gushed, "Yes, isn't she gorgeous? I completely understand why Daniel is so taken; I almost had to fight my brother for her...but he is lucky I backed off. I figured Aubrianne was only into men."
Daniela raised her eyebrows suggestively at Aubrianne, at which she blushed, "Yall are too much."
Aubrianne left them and went to get out of the dress she had tried on.
While Daniela and Jenna spoke in hushed tones. Daniela was livid. She had already told Jenna what was happening between Daniel and Aubrianne and knew this was the only reason Jenna wanted to come.
To size up Aubrianne and see what all the fuss was about. Daniela had told her not to cause problems for her with Aubrianne.
Daniela was so upset with Jenna's petty ways she had gone so far as to say that if she had to choose, she would choose Aubrianne. And Jenna had taken that to heart.
Jenna had promised to be on her best behavior, but Goddess, because she could not find one fault in Aubrianne, further enraged her.
Nevertheless, Aubrianne was alert to Jenna, and she, too, had her eye on Jenna occasionally.
Now the group had hit three more stores wrapping up their shopping. When Daniela had a wild idea for the group, head back to Aubrianne's and skinny dip in the pool, enjoying a mini cocktail party.
Yes, Daniela always looked to turn the heat up whenever she had spare time because studying to become a Doctor is very challenging.
So she would party just as hard as she worked.
Aubrianne had immediately agreed because her father had already told her to take tomorrow, Friday, off, and she had decided to get herself a wash and blowout.
The group quickly bought food to go and left the mall.
Arriving at Aubrianne's, Daniela parked in the driveway, and the girls exited the vehicle and assisted in offloading Jada's, Kirrah's, and Aubrianne's purchases from the car.
While Aubrianne struggled with the keys to the door, trying to balance all those bags in both hands. She finally got into the hole, turned, and pushed the door wide open, and Daniela, standing next to her with loads of her own, tensed.
"Wait, don't move," Daniela's body shifted to block Aubrianne as she whispered, and Aubrianne watched her as her eyes seemed to lose focus and then normalized.
Curious about what's going on, "What was wrong?"
"Someone is in there or was in there just seconds ago." The scent of a male is pungent and lingering in the air, and familiar. At the same time, Kirrah arrives with a gun already cocked.
Both Kirrah and Daniela recalled a familiar scent around them.
It was the same scent Kirrah tracked behind Aubrianne's home the first week she arrived, and it was the same scent Daniela recalled was following her and Daniel.
Wait, when they were with Aubrianne, and now this, Daniela quickly discovered they were following Aubrianne all along.
Aubrianne's eyes widened at Daniela and Kirrah's behavior when Jada shouted from behind them, a few items in hand, "F*cking Ron, where is that mother f*cker," and ran into the house, passing everyone by the entrance.
Daniela and Kirrah took off behind her while Aubrianne stood by the door, peering in from the doorway as they checked each room, the bathroom area, and the kitchen area.
All the while, everyone was oblivious to Jenna's delighted expression. She began walking around the house, following the sweetest scent she'd ever smelled.
It smelt of the perfect summer day spent on the beach. She sniffed again. Juicy pineapple and sweet mandarin orange notes took hold of her senses, with a hint of nutmeg and earthy notes of sandalwood and amber.
It was dark outside, and the moon hid behind irate clouds. Not one star showed, but the wind groaned. The rest of the evening had disappeared while they were in the mall.
Jenna's dark brown hair fluttered around her face with the wind that blew, her bright hazel eyes searching to find the source of that delicious smell.
'Mate,' her wolf Juanita announced, tail wagging. She pranced around, 'mate,' she shouted again, and Jenna stood frozen.
However, the sound of a vehicle screeching to a halt caught her attention, and she quickly made her way back to the front of the house; the scent was fading.
Whoever was here, it was clear to her that he was here no more; reaching around the house, she saw a frantic Daniel running towards Aubrianne, standing by the door, and embracing her in a tight hug.
Jenna's footsteps slowed.
"It's Ron Dani," Aubrianne spoke, forgetting she had never told Daniel about Ron. At his raised eyebrows, her quick thinking came into play, "Jada knows him, he is not a good character, and they scented him."
"Kirrah, Jada, and Daniela had rushed in..." Aubrianne was interrupted.
"That f*cker made it inside the house," Jada growled, eyebrows knitted together, nostrils flaring as she breathed heavily. She pulled out her phone and walked off to the side to call Shawn.
Kirrah and Daniela then walked out.
"Your father wants you in the manor now. Ron has gotten into the house. Please check to see if anything is missing from your room. I had already told Jada to check hers." It was Kirrah that spoke this time to Aubrianne, and her eyes widened in response.
Still, the way Kirrah said it, she knew she could not prolong this anymore, even if she wanted to, because her father would not sit well with her all the way over here, knowing someone was after her.
However, Aubrianne did not miss the way Kirrah's eyes slid toward Daniel at the mention of Ron. She looked as if she was choosing her words carefully, and how she slipped in Jada. Aubrianne was impressed.
A smile tugged at the corner of her lips. She knew why Kirrah was top of her father's list. Her ability to adapt to any situation with limited information. Kirrah was actually one of her father's bodyguards, but he wanted the best for his baby girl.
Nevertheless, Aubrianne did some maths and came up with the answer.
Shawn probably enlightened Kirrah, but she knew Shawn would not do that if he did not trust Kirrah. So Aubrianne was thankful, and even now, she saw Kirrah struggling to choose her words. She said, "Sure, let me grab a few things as well; I can always return for my other things."
All the while, Daniel is comforting Aubrianne, stroking her shoulders and arms ever so often. While Jenna listened in to all the details, she could get about her mate.
She had to stay quiet about this because, by the looks of this, he was considered the bad guy. However, he was her mate, and she would be the judge of that.
When a thought popped in and left her shaking with rage after overhearing Jada, "Can you believe this obsessed motherf*cker? First, he followed her here, and now he is blatantly trying to get to her every chance he gets. Why won't he just leave her alone, for f&cks sake?"
"Go back to Clifton Hill and live your life. Let John kill the bastard as soon as he lands." Jada strolls aimlessly as she vents to Shawn on the other end.
When Shawn walked in, phone in hand, he came rushing to the house as well. When he got Kirrah's call from inside the house, and Kirrah ran and jumped in his arms.
