Day of the Ball - Prestigious and Elite Guests - 3
Alpha Theodore Thornton - A few hours earlier.
Suddenly Alpha Theodore Claude Thornton felt like a new man. He had finally made the right decision. Deep down inside, this was the right move. He just knew it.
He was ready to face the marriage he felt trapped in. Since he finally made the judgment, he had felt so much lighter. His mind was no longer heavy.
Now that he was ready for a divorce, he felt happy for the first time in years. He felt like an anchor was removed from shackling him down.
And today was his baby girl's day. Theo was overjoyed and proud. His baby girl was about to make her debut in his society.
So he will announce this next week. He wanted this weekend to go by smoothly. His guests leave on Sunday evening.
The bottom line, he was not happy in his marriage, and it was unfair to have Christen here, stringing her along. Having her wait for something that would have happened by now if it were ever to happen.
Their kids are grown now. His father, James, was no longer breathing down his neck about how a mate should be treated.
Of course, Theo would ensure Christen got a handsome settlement, and the boys would always be taken care of, plus they already had their trust funds set up as well.
He would start the proceedings first thing on Monday morning.
Osouf was protesting, but lately, Theo was not communicating with his wolf. He blamed his wolf and his father for missing out on the life he could have had.
Because of Theo's investigation, he confirmed that Athalia was pregnant when he was forced to choose between the conference and going to see Athalia because she was not returning his calls.
Yes, he was a new man indeed. As he looked at himself in the mirror, he was about to head down for some golf with a few select Alphas and delegates.
It was eight am, and Theo was sure his baby girl was still resting, but he wanted to pop in on her before he entertained his guess with Ivan.
He fixed his shirt color and was interrupted by a knock on his door.
"Come in," he hollered as his eyes slid over his body again. Turning, he came face to face with an excited Timothy.
Timothy was hoping to have everything ready to bring to his father yesterday. However, the last piece only fell into place late last night, and he had been killing himself to complete it for the rest of the night.
He had just finished and ran straight here, so he was a bit out of breath. Timothy caught his breath, looking at his father's appearance. Timothy noticed his father was on his way out.
"Dad, please, could I have five minutes of your time?" Timothy thrust the folder towards his father, his face pleading with his father for a few moments of his time.
His voice was laced with determination. However, Timothy's facial expression was downcast. He wanted to get this out once it was hot on his mind. Everything is fresh.
Taking the folder from Timothy, with a raised eyebrow, "What's this?"
Theo flipped through the pages and realized it was a structured business plan. His eyes widened, amazed that it seemed like Timothy was actually going the distance. What did Aubrianne do to his boys?
Nevertheless, pride filled his chest for his son. However, it did not last long.
Theo knew he was busy and had no time to sit and go through every detail of Timothy's plan. However, there were key elements to a project that would immediately tell if it was worth his time.
The accountant in him flipped straight to peruse Timothy's financial structure, and he noticed something instantly.
Theo knew his daughter's work. Actually, she had proposed something along these lines for a service company the first week she got here. It was the file he'd given her to work on in his office that first day at the manor.
He remembered correctly and mused, "Wow, this looks good, Timothy. Anyone helped you with this?" Theo arched an eyebrow, allowing his son the opportunity to give the details.
"No, Dad, it was all me. I worked so hard. I did all my research." Timothy piped his chest up. He was proud of himself. He believed he would get away with this.
There was no way his father could tell anyway, and his father was already hooked by the looks of it. Timothy told himself.
And if Theo asked questions about his plan, Timothy was prepared to answer.
"Oh, that is great, son..." Theo paused and wanted to give his son one more chance to come clean, just for Timothy to show some type of decency and have some kind of morals for once in his life.
And he would gladly fund this business plan himself.
"And the financial structure?" Theo's eyebrows still arched. Timothy did not even take a second, "All me." He smiled widely, pointing to himself.
An enraged but calm on the outside, Theo threw the file on the floor and looked at his son, "When will you grow up?" He watched his son again, and disappointment flashed in his eyes just when he thought this was it.
Timothy was finally coming into his own, trying to make something of himself. His son was no better than the scums he wanted away from his family and businesses.
Stopping, he turned around, needing to be sure, as he literally compared his son to a scum. In his Alpha tone, he commanded, "Timothy, WHO did the financial structure?"
"Aubrianne, Dad." The words flew out of his mouth before he knew what was happening.
"That's what I thought, and I gave you two chances, Timothy, to come clean." Theo's eyes flashed in anger and disappointment. He shook his head and walked out of his room without sparing Timothy another glance.
A livid Timothy had stormed out; he was seeing red. Did that b!tch tell Father before he even got the chance to?
If she were not here, none of this would be happening to him right now.
Nevertheless, Theo had stormed off and headed to the one that brought him all the joy right now, Aubrianne.
After his visit, he went to brunch and then to the golf course. While on the golf course, he was interrupted by an emergency call. Theo was contacted personally because, years ago, he had a special list of people flagged who were not welcomed in his city.
"Steele?" He rubbed his chin. Why does that name ring a bell? Theo mused when Ivan informed him it was Steele Industries that had gone under after Alpha Steele got in bed with some runts or scums, as you like to call them.
"And he lost his wife when those same scums brutally murdered her.
Ivan was ready with the intel.
"Ah, yes," Alpha Theo vaguely recalled that low-life old geezer, "They are the ones whose calls you have been ignoring. Though, I think it was his son, though, who is the Alpha now." Ivan hesitantly spoke.
"I don't care," Theo snapped. He was not about to let the likes of those people come anywhere near his city, and why were they there?
Worse yet, at a time like this when he had prestigious and elite guests. He would not dare to be seen associating himself with anything remotely close to anything sketchy.
It was not a risk he was willing to take. Steele could be coming here to sightsee, and it simply did not matter to Theo. Their names were flagged for a reason. They are not welcomed in TL.
Theo smirked, "Did the bastard think he could sneak into this country? Never."
"Send him back, both of them," Ending the call, he placed another call, sending three teams to the Airport.
