No Saint!
**WARNING** Slightly graphic
Fifteen Years ago...
On a beautiful remote island far away from most of mankind, a woman stood in front of a cylindrical glass tank that housed a young girl.
The young girl's head, neck, and back were connected to tubes that were connected to a giant life-supporting electrical machine outside the glass tank. You can hear the buzzing sound from the device, indicating that it is on and functioning.
She looked as if she was merely asleep as she floated suspended in the tank and was no more than seventeen years of age. She had long dark brown hair and pale skin, and her body looked neatly stitched together.
It looked like she was torn into big chunks of pieces, and someone had the painstaking task of stitching her back together.
The young girl looked almost like Frankenstein.
Her right hand was stitched back together right by where her hand bends and by her wrist. Her other hand was stitched together by her shoulder blade, and her left leg was stitched together in five different places.
Her other leg was stitched together in two different places, her stomach was stitched together by her waistline, and a long stitch ran from her neck down the middle of her bust to her stomach.
On her face, three slashes across her eyes, nose, and lips were stitched back.
The woman stood there for a long time, continuously stroking the tank lovingly while silently sobbing.
After what seemed like forever, the air suddenly shifted.
Full of blazing rage and hatred that seized the woman in a warm and comforting embrace, she exhaled, straightened her shoulders and jacket, smoothed her skirt, and dried her tears.
Then just like that, her facial features transformed into a deadly sneer when she whispered venomously before exiting, "I will AVENGE you, pumpkin. They will all pay, MARK my words. I WILL destroy them ALL."
Her expensive designer heels clacked on the porcelain tiles as she strutted out of the room with a complete plan in mind.
The woman did not care how long it would take because she was ready to play the long game.....
Present Day
Alpha Zayne Steele
"Those scums are always swift to destroy evidence. Everything self-destructs every f**king time," I growled, "we must catch them by surprise. We must! This time I want us to move out at 2 am."
After absorbing all the bits of details...He says, "That's perfect, we switch up our timing," then he side-smirks.
Mekhi then got up, went to the liquor, poured himself a glass, then halfway turned his body in my direction, gesturing, lifting a brow, and asking if I would like a drink.
I told him I had had enough. He downed his, poured another, and then relaxed back onto the sofa as we continued our chit-chatter.
Time passed quickly as we further discussed the plans for our next mission.
Now, we continue our conversations, touching on many different topics. From Alpha Thornton and hoping an opportunity arises for a chance encounter, also the possibility of reaching out to other wolf communities for assistance.
There are even some human entities we can reach out to and try to team up with Law Enforcement because, with all the missing people reported, we can offer help. And in return, we gain some manpower.
However, bringing humans on board is a risky business. We will need to train them, which might take time and effort. Anyway, I am willing to try anything.
We discussed other areas we can improve upon, be it in the community or the businesses, as one of the dealerships barely made a profit this quarter. Hence, we discussed the marketing strategy moving forward for the dealership.
The conversation just flowed from one thing to the other. We even reminisce about that time I was preparing to challenge Alpha Thornton if that is what it took just to be able to command his forces, thinking of the good we can do. Maybe even getting to the source and cutting it off from the head.
We laugh, and my mood completely changes. I had decided against it, of course, I just needed more men, not an entire community too, and the responsibilities alone would have been too much for me. I was man enough to see that.
Nevertheless, as the conversation winds down, I realize I am much better than I was a couple of hours ago, fully relaxed. At that moment, I thought I could honestly depend on Mekhi, he always had my back, and I knew he suspected my foul mood and stayed a little longer than necessary, ensuring I was OK, just indulging me.
He is a great Beta and friend. Eventually, we called it a night...
After leaving this destroyed office, I went home, showered, then went straight to bed and lay down thinking about my mate and if she was still out there, somewhere…
Alive...
New Day!
"Hey Michael, come over here for a sec, bud," I had just finished a football game with the pups and chatted with them about the dangers of playing around the bees. But I wanted to have a little heart-to-heart with Michael.
"Hello, Alpha," bowing his head, a sign of respect. He had sticky hands, one holding a popsicle.
I reached down and ruffled his hair.
"Hey buddy, now I hope you listened and took heed of what was said, as your situation is a bit different," I said, my hand resting gently on his shoulder.
"Yes, Alpha," he quickly licks the Popsicle.
"You know these bees are an actual danger to you. Do you remember your reaction to the bee sting?" I asked, concern etched in my voice. I looked at him thoughtfully.
"Yes, Alpha, I remember," he answers, dragging out the Alpha as if he was so fed up with hearing everyone reminding him of this bee sting he got. I can understand his frustration.
"And it was not a good feeling now, was it?" I inquired while I shoved my hands in my pockets.
"No, Alpha, it was not," he says solemnly while looking down.
"You also know your brother is very concerned, and you do know how he worries, don't you?"
Rolling his eyes while he sighs, he says, "Mekhi worries too much. He worries about everything. If I bounce my toe, he worries." He took a quick bite off the top of his Popsicle, chewing almost enthusiastically.
He is really enjoying his Popsicle.
But I broke out in laughter at what he said about Mekhi, and Michael joined in. Catching my breath, I said, "Michael, in all seriousness, stay away from the bees ok. Promise me."
"Ok, ok, Alpha, I promise I will." He drags out.
"Ok, buddy," giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze, I sent him on his way, "Now go on, join your friends."
I stood there and watched him walk away. He is already so tall for a ten-year-old, well-mannered. I couldn't help but smile after him.
Michael is such a brilliant pup, I know he will do great things one day, and Mekhi is very proud of his brother. He always gushes about him, but he also worries a lot.
Mekhi assumed the role of a father when they lost theirs in an attack six years ago. There was an attack involving a few lone wolves who had banded together.
It was indeed a rough time for the Williams family. Mekhi took it pretty badly as he blames himself for not being there at the time. I tried my best to be there for him, as I know how it feels to lose a parent.
Nevertheless, I am heading to training.
We have been training ever so often throughout the day since the early morning hours, running drills and prepping for our mission tonight, and I took an hour's break to spend time with the pups.
Arriving at the training center, I met with my Beta Mekhi, Delta Rafael, and lead warrior Nathanial. They quickly rounded up everyone on my order for us to run a few more drills.
An hour later, we all gathered around as we went over tactics once more, ensuring we were all in sync with the plans, as I wanted to have minimal casualties, if any at all.
Every time we go on a mission, I learn something new, which is why I am always thinking of what we could have done better to save more humans or even keep my men from getting injured, and each time I switch up, adding to our tactical plan. Or taking away.
Changing and adjusting strategies, and this time, I didn't want to leave empty-handed. I told them, "I am hoping we at least get a name or some type of lead," But who knows. I just need to make some type of headway, "because honestly, I am feeling stuck."
"Nevertheless, we will sure as hell do our best. We get in, and we will look for any file or anything with vital information, any Flashdrive we can get our hands on, or hard drives that are still intact," I announced.
They all nod their agreement, "yes, Alpha."
I then told everyone, "We move out at one thirty am. We must be in position and ready to strike at three am, have some grub and get some rest. I need everyone sharp. I will see you all at one thirty."
"Yes, Alpha!" They all answered in unison. Please, my wolf Aragorn nods his approval as well.
Dismissing, I left, making my way home. I do not live in the pack house, and my home is actually away from it. But I have an office at the pack house and one at my home, and I work out of both.
"Heyyy, Alphaaa!" An annoying voice interrupted my 'mind planning.'
I cringe. It's Sacha. Again! Always lurking around for the opportunity to speak with me, and if I am being honest, it is pretty annoying.
She has been constant with her quest to the point of irritation, but fuck, she is beautiful, sexy, fierce, strong, gorgeous smooth caramel skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. She would make a great Luna.
But. I refuse to believe my mate is no longer on this earth, though the chances are very slim due to the constant attacks on us wolves, but Goddess, help me.
If she pulls at me one more time, I might just give in.
I always remind myself she is a member of this pack and someone I value as she has proven herself to be a fierce warrior, and secondly, she is not my mate.
Hey, I am no saint; I just don't mess around with any of the she-wolves from my pack.
