An eerie feeling
Alpha Zayne Steele
Sacha was even already there with a group of warriors. Zayne strapped up with his guys as Sacha and her team headed out. At that moment, he felt pride for his fierce warrior. Sacha glanced at him, and he quickly nodded his approval.
"The guards are going down, these creatures are savage, there are about forty plus, I... I lost count, so many, there are so many," Rafael shouts through the mind link.
Then in came Nathanial, "Alpha, we are going down. They are using a weapon that is taking out our wolves," he shouts through the mind link, "make sure you have on your vest, don't leave without your vest" he calls again breathless, "don't leave without your protective gear..." His voice cuts off.
"We have to be wise, they have guns that can slow us down, and they have some of their man-made creatures with them as more reports come in." Zayne quickly informed the others.
Grabbing a vest, he shoots out the door, his men following, and they pile into a vehicle to take them where the action was. "We have to keep them back, drive them away and kill all the creatures, do not let them get in at any cost," Zayne orders, through the mind link.
Reaching the action, they jumped out. Out here it was dark, the air thick.
Zayne could not believe the sight before him, the carnage, so many lifeless bodies on the ground. His heart constricts, his wolf peeks out, and Zayne lets him.
Aragorn wanted control.
Now he was merged with his wolf, still, on two feet, claws extended, canines elongated, eyes the color of fire with ice specs. Man and wolf became one as they launched at the first creature.
Aragorn saw red. He wanted blood, and so did Zayne.
All the warriors with him jumped into action, taking out as many humans with tranquilizers as possible while others assisted the badly injured. The humans are the ones they quickly realize are deadly to them right now, with the lethal weapon they were wielding.
It's taking out his men, not merely slowing them down. Who are these humans? Who were these hired guns?
Meanwhile, Alpha Zayne has fought and clawed his way through seven creatures thus far. He ripped them to pieces as he slashed and pulled off one creature's head with his clawed hands.
When another creature charged, barely giving him time to regain his footing. Nevertheless, Aragorn was out for blood, and he was livid.
Swift to react, Zayne ducked and plunged his clawed hand through the creature's chest, gripped and pulled with great force, pulling out its spine through its front. Icky cream-ish creature blood squirts, leaving slashes of gross blood patterns all over Zayne.
Zayne lets out a guttural growl.
Swirling around, he looked for another creature...found it. Running, Zayne launched into it, knocking it to the ground, then sat on top of it as it struggled to get him off to no avail.
Zayne had put all of his weight on the creature, keeping it steady for his next move.
Firmly gripping under the creature's chin with his claws, sinking into its rancid flesh, Zayne pulled its head off clean as he let out another vicious growl.
Chest heaving, nose flaring, face contorted into pure beast. Kill, Kill, Kill, vengeance was the only thought in his mind.
Zayne took in his surroundings. It was a dark night. The moonlight hid behind the trees, only peeking in with the movement and shifting of the branches from time to time.
The air was still, and an eerie feeling crept up his spine. He didn't like it.
Soon, he caught up with Sacha and her team. Zayne watched as Sacha, covered in a good bit of what could be icky creature blood, pulled out her Glock and aimed it, locking in on her target.
Squeezing the trigger, she took down her human target.
She swiftly moved on to the next and then the next, doing the same, aiming and squeezing until the humans were all down.
These pesky humans and their gun, Zayne, aggressively spat on the ground.
As for Sacha's team, they join in the fight as Rafael and some more of Alpha Zayne's warriors arrive and join them also.
They all focus their energy on the creatures that still remain scattered about. Their aim was to annihilate them all!
They quickly form teams of two as they track their targets that are now somewhere about in the community...
They moved with speed and stealth, closing in and taking out every creature they encountered one by one along the way.
But as they drew closer to their community, out of the forested area, where soon, giant trees and thick branches no longer loom over them.
Zayne sniffed deeply, turning his nose up, drawing in all the different scents around them. He picked up the smell of fresh wolf blood mixed in with fresh human blood and feared the worst.
He feared that the creatures would come upon members of his community.
Then suddenly, they heard a gut-wrenching scream from the not-too-far distance, and Zayne launched out into a run. He vaguely heard others behind him as he zoned in on where the sound came from.
Quickly reaching out into the open now, upon civilization, they tracked the sound about four houses straight ahead of them, and as they were heading there, they heard a noise off to the right of them.
Quietly looking at each other, Zayne mind-link and told three of them to go check it out. Three of his warriors then branched out, heading right, making their way down the street with the dead end where the noise came from.
Their heightened vision provided the sight they needed. As they observed that the moonlight was now hiding behind clouds again.
Please don't rain, please don't rain, Zayne mutters a silent prayer. He cannot have rain falling right now, and washing away any traces of evidence, there could be a trail of blood. Or the scent of the enemy. No! Please don't rain.
They continue to move briskly to the house in their sight.
Approaching the house, Zayne's peripheral vision saw movement now to their left, and he was not the only one, for that matter.
He nodded, and two men branched off in that direction, and then next, Zayne mind-link and motioned for three to continue moving forward as he and his Beta moved to check out the house.
A cozy upstairs and downstairs home came into view. Alpha Zayne prepares to enter the house from the front, and his Beta goes around to the back.
Soon Alpha Zayne was at the front door, and he gently turned the knob and realized it was not locked. Knob already turned in his hands, he slowly and steadily pushes the door open, then peeks in.
Zayne's fire with ice-flecked eyes quickly scans the area, the living room, pictures lining the mantle on the wall above a fireplace, and he notices that this is the home of one of the mixed families (wolf and human) now living in his community.
To the right, Zayne saw a staircase and observed that the kitchen area was separated by a wall with a circular design cut out in the middle, making it easy to see into the kitchen. The kitchen was the only room down here with lights on, and also, there was a doorway to the side.
Alpha Zayne shook his head and did a double take because, for the life of him, he couldn't begin to believe what he was seeing.
He faltered momentarily as he could not grasp the situation and couldn't bring himself to terms with what was in front of him or how far these humans had gotten with their experiments.
So many thoughts ran through his mind, but the one idea that stood out to him the most was that he was running out of time.
Soon, humans will have perfected their killing machines and start launching bigger and bolder attacks until there is not one single wolf left on the face of this earth.
He felt sick to his stomach as it churned, and he continued to watch the scene unfolding before him just behind that wall with the hole cut out in the middle.
