Staggered with emotion
Aubrianne Ivanov
Daniel and his dad stared at Aubrianne's wolf form in awe. They were genuinely fascinated by the sheer power that radiated from her.
'She is unique, but she is not our mate.' Already sensing where Daniel was heading, Cassius spoke, Daniel's wolf.
Meanwhile, Aubrianne had continued chatting with her wolf, and then both agreed to talk more once everything settled and they were alone.
Leia, the bearer of the 'tea,' that sneaky little white wolf, had some wisdom to pass on to Aubrianne, but also to give her the tea on the fact that she has been best friends with a witch for years and that her 'close to a brother' Shawn is actually a werewolf.
Both Jada and Shawn were drawn to Aubrianne, and they meant her no harm. They were more of a protector and felt it deep within, like it was a calling.
Even though they did so without question, they did not understand why. It did not make sense to them because Aubrianne was considered a human, though they both agreed that something did feel off about her but not in a sinister way. Her scent was not of human nor of any magical being.
But that was before Jada returned home five months ago…
Aubrianne's thoughts finally returned to Mr. Grey and Daniel, recalling where they had left off before she spaced out.
She wanted to address the situation and huffed at his last statement about her father looking out for her from afar and preparing for her arrival.
The bottom line is that he left her. Alone!
As far as Aubrienne was concerned, she huffs again as if to say that it still proves nothing and says nothing.
'You will never be alone again, Bri,' Leia reassures, while Aubrianne feels a certain warmth and comfort from her words and the fact that she called her Bri like her mother used to. A strong bonding emotion racked her form.
Aubrianne realizes she needs to change back in order to have a proper conversation about this.
'You need to change back to your human in order to speak with them until we are initiated into the pack.'
'I am sorry. Wait, what now? Initiated?' Aubrianne questioned.
'Calm down, it's nothing serious. It's simply a linking of minds. This way, we can all communicate with each other, in and out of wolf form.' Leia explains.
'Oh, understood. Ok, how do I change back to myself, and would I be naked in front of them?'
She shifts her gaze over to Daniel and his Father.
'Of course, you will be naked before them when you switch back to being human again. You ripped your clothes when you changed. However, the witch in you can solve that problem easily. It's a pity you are a novice. You probably don't even know how to use your magic.' Leia teased.
'Ok, ok ha ha, very funny,' but it was true. Even if Leia made light of her situation, Aubrianne knew she was green in every way, and she didn't know how to use her magic.
'Well, of course, it's true,' Leia inserts herself into Aubrianne's thoughts.
'Stay out of my head.' Aubrianne bites back.
'Ok, Ms. Snappy. Let's get down to business, to change, you simply breathe in and out, releasing all tension from your body and calling on your inner human self, and voila, that's it.'
Aubrianne breathed in and out, then said, 'Ok, let me try,' She then proceeded with Leia's instructions.
Soon Aubrianne was naked. However, it didn't bother her as she thought it would. She was used to being half-naked in front of people. She was accustomed to showing skin, and the fact that she was stark naked in front of Daniel and his father did not phase her one bit.
She was surprised by this reaction. She felt proud of the body she saw staring back at her in the mirror. It was like she had transformed. Human, witch, and wolf combine together flawlessly. She was a vision.
Mr. Grey and Daniel had diverted their gaze away from her, so not like they really saw anything anyway. However, they did notice her mysterious appeal and captivating scent that would make man or beast fall to their knees around the world.
She would command armies. However, many would seek her out for themselves to feed their selfish and vain desires.
Aubrianne casually strolls to get a throw over from a drawer. She threw it over her head, got underwear, and slid them on.
"Finished," she announced, settling herself comfortably in her stance. And not missing a beat, she said, "That means nothing. He left me.." Her voice broke, and damn it, she was not expecting that. Was she about to cry like a baby in front of Daniel and Mr. Grey? Oh no, she was not!
Aubrianne steeled herself and continued, "He left me for a year. Now I am here, and where is he? Huh? Guess what? Still, he is not here with me!"
Mr. Grey and Daniel both moved like someone had slapped them across the face simultaneously at the fury that spiked in her.
Then Aubrianne could not help but ask, "Is that the reason for the gifts overload?" Then she could not help but add, "It's pathetic trying to buy me in such a way. I knew there had to be a reason why. The thing is, I so was not expecting this turn of events." She then exhaled harshly.
She knew she honestly did not know what to expect. However, the thought of Mr. Thornton being her dad did cross her mind. She had simply chosen to shot it down.
Aubrianne did not want to believe he was her father and had said nothing all that time. She did not want to consider it even after all the time that had passed. She was finally here, and where was he?
She refused to believe it because that would mean her worse nightmare was not a nightmare. It was far worse than that!
It was her reality. Her father does not love or want her. He did not even care enough about being there when she arrived. How could he?
Aubrianne was on the verge of falling apart after getting those words out, but still, she refused to shed an ounce of tears for that man.
So instead, she steels herself again, hard as stone. She will not be bothered. She fought with all her might and said, "SO you said earlier that he was on his way back sooner?"
"Yes," Mr. Grey cleared his throat before speaking up.
"Ok, I…"
Ding dong! Someone was by the pedestrian gate.
Completely thrown off by the bell, Aubrianne's words died in her throat as she wondered who it could be?
Was he here already? Was I ready to face him? Who could this be?
'You'll see,' Leia snickered. Aubrianne's heart had kicked up a notch, thinking it might be her father, whom she was not ready to face yet.
Then figured it might not be Mr. Thornton, after all, because surely he would have keys like Mr. Grey. After all, she was not just an intern? Right?
Moving towards the door, Aubrianne opened it, and someone who she saw happily waving at her caused her
to stagger with emotion.
Her heart leaped in her chest, and she squealed at the sight of Jada. Then Jada squealed, and then Aubrianne bolted out the door.
The buzzer she needed to press to open the gate was long forgotten.
