Chapter 6

After the consolation period was over, Mason and Claire both slept for some couple of hours because it is still midnight.

Mason and Claire slept on the same bed after the consolation which was just a normal behavior to Mason because he just sees it as sleeping on the same bed with his sister but nothing sexual is involved to him but to Claire it was another feeling entirely.

Claire who is known to have been fantasizing about her brother without her brother’s knowledge find it difficult to sleep beside her brother without trying to touch him romantically on the bed which made her tempted to do some drastic things with her brother but they are all in her thoughts because she lacks the courage to do them anytime she comes close.

Claire tried to put her head on her brother’s chest on the bed in which her breast will be touching her brother’s diaphragm but she felt reluctant to do so because she knows her brother is no longer deep asleep after the episode of what happened before he slept.

Mason changes his position on the bed by turning from his side to facing the ceiling fan which made Claire more tempted and she fakes a touch on her brother’s chest in which she quickly removes her hand afterwards but Mason just folds his arms on his chest and crossed his legs together on the bed. Claire also finds that sleeping posture weird as well because it’s like Mason is dreaming of military camp training in which the soldiers were asked to fold their arms and legs.

However, in the prison the current leader of the Jewish-American crew(Moses) seems to have some personal history with Aveiro aside Bernado killing their previous leader called Hamman. Bernado is feeling a lot of pressure all over him because he knows his enemies are coming for his brother; his core enemies are from the Jewish-American crew, Russian-American crew and the African-American crew.

Bernado ordered the hit on Hamman who was the leader of the Jewish-American crew because Hamman tried to oppose his orders and Usuyk who was the leader of the Russian-American crew committed similar offence which made him suffer the same fate. Although the last leader which Bernado killed seems to be the most painful death to the prisoners because George who was the leader of the African-American crew, is the most considerate leader with proper human behavior of the crew leaders.

Bernado feel threatened by the kind of affection and loyalty George has in the prison which made Bernado order a hit on George. Ever since the death of George in the prison, Bernado has been the undisputed ruler among the inmates as all the inmates and leaders live in fear in the prison.

After a while of tempting to touch by Claire, the alarm rings and it was already 5:30am. Claire is still in dilemma of how to get her hands on the phone she wants to check for more information as per what to do on her part to have her brother all to herself while Mason wakes up to see that his sister is already up before him.

“sis, did you get any sleep at all?”, Mason asked Claire

“yes I did my love”, Claire answered

“love?”, Mason said with extended eyebrows

“I meant bro” Claire replied.

Mason laughed and overlooked what Claire said by telling her it because she is too single at the moment that is making her miss love right now.

It is what you guessed, Claire got carried away when Mason asked the first question when he woke up because after fantasizing about Mason all night in head, she already thought they were lovers but Mason extended eyebrows snaps her out of her fantasy into reality.

Mason grabs his towel and went to the bathroom which made Claire have the opportunity to go through Mason’s and Claire used the opportunity very well because she was able to see the picture sent to Mason by Trisha more vividly because the last one came with a shock.

Claire wants to delete the picture but she thought to herself that her brother have already seen the picture so deleting it after he has seen it only makes everything more suspicious, so she decided to leave it there rather she copied Trisha’s phone number to her notepad and she is hoping it will be useful.

Bernado already had a plan on how to protect his brother before his brother get to prison; Bernado intentions from the beginning was to use Will and Gomez as Aveiro bodyguard which made him want to make sure Will kills for him without knowing Gomez was the person that killed the cannibal.

Bernado then make sure Gomez is also trapped in his plans because he anticipated how useful Gomez could be to his plans. Gomez who is not new to killing someone even before he came to prison seems to be wondering who he will be asked to kill and Will who is his friend also feel like he owe him because Gomez helped him to kill the Cannibal instead.

Mason got out of the bathroom and dressed up in a quick succession because he wants to prepare breakfast before going to work. Mason was about to go to the kitchen when his phone rings and the call is from Johanna telling him about a contract meeting he has to attend later in the day, Claire was also in the bathroom thinking of how to come to her brother’s house again tonight because she believes she still has to gather more information from her brother’s phone.

Mason was already having pancakes when Claire came to the dining table to meet him.

“I still want to come over tonight bro”, Claire said with a smile

“Why is that?”, Mason asked with a confused expression

“Can’t I stay a little while in my brother’s house?”, Claire said with a smile even though she is faking it.

“You can, you are always welcome, I just thought there is a special reason for you to stay”.

They both laughed it off even though one person’s laugh is real and the other person’s laugh is fake and you know who it is.

Mason drives to work while Claire took a cab down to work as well but they have different agenda going on in their hearts .

Mason called Jasmine when he got to work and she picked up the phone;

“HI”, Mason said

“I’m fine”, Jasmine responded

“I’ve been trying to get in touch with you for a while but you are not picking up your phone yourself”, Mason lamented.

“You caused it all after you broke my heart to a million pieces”, Jasmine cold-heartedly said.

"How!", surprisingly said by Mason

“Did you not know the message you sent to me the last time? “, Jasmine said.

“Last I checked I didn’t send you any message, or what the f**k are you talking about?”, Mason confused again.

“What did you mean you didn’t send any message to me?, please stop testing my patience!”, Jasmine said and hang up the phone angrily.

After Jasmine hung up the phone on Mason, Mason became surprisingly confused because he just could not understand what is going on with his situation.

Not long after that Mason got another call but this time it was from Trisha.

"Hi",Trisha said

"I’m good",said Mason

“I believe you could not send a reply to my message yesterday because you have seen what you did right?”, Trisha trying to tease Mason

“What are you talking about?, you photo shopped a screenshot and send it to me and blame me for sending a bad message to you?”, Mason said his thought.

“What! You think I really have that time?, please stop getting on my nerves!”, Trisha said angrily and hang up the phone on Mason.

This got Mason thinking deeply to the point that he thought he was wrong because he said to himself what her the odds of two different ladies claiming he did a particular thing to them on the same day.

“What are the odds? Could I have made a mistake somewhere?”, Mason said to himself

Or “should I request for an evidence from Jasmine as well?”, Mason said to himself

Did Mason get the evidence from Jasmine for Clarity?

In the prison, Aveiro is already getting circled around by the Jewish-American crew men because he has some history with their leader (Moses). What could that be?

Gomez have just been summoned by Bernado… .
