Chapter 5

Mason opened the message only for him to see a screenshot of a message sent from his phone by Claire but he is kind of shocked because he could not find that message on his phone and the screenshot looked a lot like the background of his phone.

Mason began to overthink things that made him think Trisha went ahead to do a Photoshop of a screenshot only to be his enemy. Mason did not tell Claire about what happened but Claire was curious to know the kind of message sent to Mason from Trisha so she decided to sleep over at her brother’s house.

‘are you not going home tonight?’, Mason asked.

‘Nope, I’ve got little to do tomorrow’, Claire replied.

Mason who had no idea about his sister’s plans easily allowed her to stay over at his place and as Mason was preparing to sleep Claire was keeping an eye on him to sleep deep so she could check his phone because Mason let her know the password of course.

Mason was already fast asleep as he heard footsteps towards his bed and opened his eyes only for him to see Claire.

‘Why are you up?’, Mason asked

‘I wanted to use your charger to charge my phone’, Claire replied

Mason pointed to where it is towards the wall where he was also charging his phone.

Claire then sees it as an opportunity to drop her phone in the room and come back with the excuse of coming back for her phone afterwards. Claire left the room and thought about coming back in an hour time to check if her brother is fast asleep but she did not know even a trip on a pen can wake up her brother.

Gomez who was summoned by Bernado has been more calm than angry because he knows showing how he feels around Bernado’s Men could get him killed. Gomez gets to Bernado’s room;

“I think you found my body on your doorstep?”, Bernado asks

“That’s right”, Gomez responds

“so are you ready for anytime I would call you?”, Bernado asks again

“Yes”, Gomez responds as he thought he didn’t have much of a choice because he dares not say ‘no’.

“ok you can go”, Bernado said. Gomez leaves Bernado’s presence as calm as possible.

The notification sound at the gate of the prison main entrance just sounded and behold there is a new prisoner coming through and the prisoner is Aveiro who happens to be Bernado’s brother.

In the next one hour, Claire watched her steps very carefully so as not to wake Mason from sleep. She walked quietly that even a Ghost will be envious of that type of style, and she got to where she and her brother plugged their phone which shows are phone has been fully charged because the phone was not actually that low.

Claire removes her phone and went on to check her brother’s phone which the battery percentage is still on eighty-six percent, then she removed it quietly from the charger which immediately made a sound of being disconnected and Mason seems to hear that but just changes his position on the bed by turning towards the other side of the bed.

Claire was a bit static for a while because she did not know if she was about to be caught by her brother until Mason turns to the other side of the bed which is a bit far from her. Claire went on to unlock the phone which made another beep sound but this time Mason sneezes and went back to sleep. ‘finally’, Claire said quietly to herself before she opened the messaging application and saw the unexpected but she forgot her quietness by saying;

‘Holy sh*t’, Claire loudly said.

Mason wake up immediately and asked

What happened?, but Claire was almost dumbfounded because she was still in a bit of shock but she manages to close the messaging application before her brother’s question came to her.

‘The phone charger just shocked me’ Claire said as she lied her a** off.

Mason was a bit Confused because the phone charger is a real manufactured charger for his iPhone 11 but he thought to himself that it is probably because Claire used it to charge another phone which is her phone so the phone charger could be selective.

Mason went closer to Claire to console her from the electric shock he thought it was but Claire was only thinking about how to get her hands on the phone once more to know the extent of her brother’s conversation with Trisha so she can have a proper plan to eliminate Trisha away from her brother. Did Claire get her hands on the phone?, did she come up with a plan?

In the prison, Aveiro has just been convicted for fourteen years imprisonment because he took charge of his brother (Bernado) establishment after Bernado came to prison. Aveiro was convicted for similar crime as his brother and sentenced similarly after several years of not getting caught. Bernado is more worried about this development because he knows the amount of damages he has caused in various prisons he has been to.

Bernado also have some hidden problems in this particular prison as well because he has killed some leaders in different crews (Jewish-American crew, Russian-American crew, African-American crew) which made some of their followers angry at him but those followers can not stand a chance against Bernado because he has more men under his crew than others.

The moment Bernado heard from his sister (Adrianna) that Aveiro is coming to the same prison he is at, Bernado have already seen Aveiro as a vulnerability because his enemies in prison will see Aveiro as an opportunity to get back at him. After Bernado thought about this situation, he came up with a plan that could probably aid the protection of his brother. Did you know what that is?
