FIANCEE?
"I'll make you say it," Sumire said vehemently and her hand on his chest crawled towards Mort's neck and snaked it. The hunk smirked at the maiden's audacity in his mind. His face remains handsomely frigid. Hundreds of the sky lanterns hovering above them dancing in the unseen current and the hordes of flickering fireflies make their magical evening so romantic.
She roughly pulls him closer to her. They hold their gazes, locked under the vast constellation. Their nose intimately touched and lips were about to seal. Sumire closed her eyes and was about to initiate the kiss when suddenly a flash of light points them coming from the lower part of the yacht. Making the two of them above the spotlight.
Boarded on a boat, Narco was holding a stage flashlight making Klauss stand frozen next to him. If looks can kill, they have been long drowned in the water. Mort looked at them with a dark expression on his face while hands snaked on Sumire's waist. The maiden looked at the boat floating below near the yacht, eyes narrow squint due to the light.
Klauss looked up and gulped half from where he stood when he elbowed Narco in the side. "What do you think you're doing?" Klauss angrily hissed Narco who quickly turned off the flashlight.
Annoyed, Sumire rolled her eyes and let go of Mort. She went to the nearby lounger chair and sat there. While the man followed and stood near her waiting for Klauss, Narco, Laurel, and the twins to board the yacht.
Narco expertly climbed the yacht like a ninja even though no rope was handed to them to climb up. The tanned young man was wearing all black and from behind him hung a bag of a large box.
Klauss, Laurel, Leroy, and Lyric followed after him with their backpacks. All of them are born daredevils, whether it's rock climbing or jumping off a building, it's just a piece of cake to them. They come to the place with all the gears and equipment on the boat and they don't leave unprepared.
When they all got on the deck they were greeted by a pair of piercing emerald eyes, shooting daggers at them.
"Explain yourselves," Mort said in a deep, cold, and dangerous tone. This was supposed to be their night. His night with her, alone.
Laurel, Narco, and the twins pointed Klauss in the middle at the same time. Before the hunk sails the yacht in the middle of the lake, Mort warns them NOT to disturb his night with Sumire. 'But the news I have is more pivotal than this female homo.' He said in his mind. Klauss felt chills crawl through his whole body. He gulped hard before answering the Boss.
"I apologize for the disturbance, Boss but the old man called. They have already found a potential fiancèe for you." Klauss in a formal tone and glanced in Sumire's direction while flashing a mocking smirk. Sumire's eyes widened and she looked at Mort in disbelief and glared at Klauss one after another.
Mort approached Klauss and had a talk with him not far from where she was sitting. Laurel went to her place and sat next to her. She places her hand on her shoulder, reassuring her.
"Don't worry about a thing, I know you're the endgame," Laurel said and smiled.
Sumire turned to her with a worried face. "Are you sure? If his grandpa chooses his future wife. I have nothing against that. All I know now is that my chance to be with him is vague." Sumire said that her shoulder had dropped.
"You're right. But you're the only woman that Mort had his eyes laid upon on. No one else. He did things he's never done in his entire life and that means something." Laurel meaningfully answered.
"And I'm certain Mort will allow that woman to touch him the way I do since his Grandfather made the choice. He's bound to obey it." Sumire said with despair can be heard in her tone. Laurel quickly attended and held her hand.
"I bet Mort won't spare a glance or attention to that woman." With Laurel's comforting words, Sumire flashed a small but forcing smile. She hopes Mort won't look at any other woman but her, only.
The conversation of the two maidens was interrupted when suddenly Mort's phone rang. Mort took it from his pocket and casually walked inside the yacht and answered that call. Sumire followed the young man through her questioning gaze, wondering who called him this late.
Sumire stood up and was about to follow him when Narco suddenly stopped her. A big ribboned box was handed to her. "Belated Happy Birthday," he greeted her with a playful smile.
"Thank you." She smiled genuinely but that beautiful smile plastered on her lips quickly faded when she accepted the present and fell on the deck at the same time due to the heavy weight of the box. 'What the hell is in this box?' She cussed in her mind.
"Oops! My bad." Narco insincerely apologizes. Sumire thought he was going to help her lift the box but the scalawag left her speechless with his hands crossed on the back of his head and starts whistling in the air.
Sumire decided to leave the box on the deck and didn't try to lift it anymore. She was about to leave the place to follow Mort when someone suddenly stopped her for the second time.
A pair of gigantic human-size teddy bears appeared in her sight. She could barely see Lyric and Leroy standing behind them. The twins greeted her in chorus while giving their gifts which made her squeal in delight. She happily hugged and buried herself in the soft fluffy fur of the teddy bears.
Sumire gave them a thank you smile and quickly put the teddy bears on the lounger chair. She badly want to follow Mort inside the yacht but she had only taken two steps when someone blocked her way again. This time it was Laurel who handed over her gift.
"Open it if it's just you and Mort alone," Laurel said with a meaningful grin on her lips. Sumire gladly accepted it and smiled. This is the only present she accepted. Laurel's present was placed inside a gift bag, unlike the previous two humungous gifts.
After Sumire thanked Laurel, her strides were big that she was almost running just to follow Mort inside. She was smiling widely and was about to reach the door when suddenly she bumped into a hard wall, no, it's a chest. Eyes closed in pain and hold her nose, "For the love of God, stop pes-" she was stopped when Klauss leaned closer and glared at her.
"Don't disturb my Boss, you unholy demon." He said emphatically at the same time handing over his gift wrapped in an expensive plain black wrapper. Sumire cast a suspicious glance at his present.
"What is that?" She dubiously asked and pointed to his gift in black. Klauss rolled his eyes at her.
"Gift, obviously." Klauss responded sarcastically but the maiden never broke the suspicious look on him.
"I thought you hated me," Sumire asked, eyeing him skeptically. Klauss gave her a blank stare.
"Keep your enemy closer," Klauss responded. She just accepted his gift and shook the box to determine the inside.
"Wow, this is obviously a perfume," Sumire commented.
"Yes." Klauss meaningfully responded. Before Klauss left her, he gave the maiden a warning look which surprising Sumire obeyed and went back on the lounger chair and sat while waiting for Mort to come out.
Laurel approached her again, dragging her own chair so was Narco, Leroy and Lyric followed with their chairs and they all sat in front of Sumire. The maiden was slightly taken aback from her seat when she was flocking by them all of a sudden.
"How did you and Mort meet?" Laurel curiously asked the maiden who turned her gaze to her.
"He saved me from lowly thugs who kidnapped me," Sumire replied, her hands making a knot on the edge of her dress.
"So, he's your knight in shining ammo." Narco butts in. Chin resting on the edge of the turned chair he sits on. The maiden looks at him, stupefied.
"Huh?" Eyebrows knitted into a frown, Sumire asked the young man. 'I'm not a Disney fan but I'm not stupid to know that famous line,' she said in the back of her mind.
"Armor." Laurel corrected him.
"Oh, interesting," Narco said while flashing a smile revealing his perfect set of oyster teeth at Lyric and Leroy who just raised an eyebrow at him.
"What exactly happened?" Laurel asked, obviously wanting to know the real thing between them.
"He bought me," Sumire confesses that Laurel exaggeratedly gasped. Gaped, the twins' eyes widened in shock, and they exchange glances. 'That's peculiar of him...' they said in unison.
"Iihhh!!!! What happened next?" Squeal, Laurel asked excitedly that Sumire's entire face flushed into red. That daring audacity she did to him inside Mort's car vividly flashback to her mind. Sumire lowers her head and lip bites out of embarrassment. The maiden was about to answer her when Mort came out with the five paintings that she had won at the auction.
"Oh, my paintings!!!" Exclaimed in delight, Sumire came rushing towards the hunk and quickly gave a heartful embrace to the paintings that surprise Mort who was expecting the hug. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she watched Death's masterpiece.
"I thought I was never going to get it," Sumire said as she knelt down and looked at the five paintings one by one. 'You're finally in my hands, my babies...' she happily said and smiled heartedly.
"Even though the auction house looks suspicious, they still fulfill their responsibility to the winning bidders," Laurel said, now standing up and arms crossed on her chest. She just looking at the maiden having fun in front of them.
Sumire's smile vanished in just a second when Trevor's face came to her mind. The gloom on her face dawned which Klauss notices. "Your friend Trevor, I'm sure he's dead," Klauss said in a heartless remark making Sumire's face twitch in anger.
"No," Sumire objected and stood up. She gave him a spiteful look with her one eyebrow raised at him. "He's alive." She added.
"How can you be so sure?" Klaus asked, raising an eyebrow at her as well. Mort was quietly listening and standing behind her, ignoring their childish squabble.
"It has been confirmed with his manager and his sister gave me a call," Sumire responded.
"Sister?" Klauss jeeringly asked. The twins looked at him and Sumire back and forth.
"Yes, Yelena." She abruptly replied and grimaced.
"Oh, that bitch..." Klauss scoffs that Sumire didn't like what she heard from him. She drew a blank stare at him.
"What did you just say?" Sumire took a step closer to Klauss as if challenging him to a brawl. Her eyes squinted at him. 'This white-haired freak is nothing but a villain in my life.' She hissed in annoyance. Mort faked a cough and got their attention.
"I have to go back to the company," said the hunk as Sumire quickly turn her back and face him.
"This late?" She asked still looking up at Mort.
"Yes. But I still have time to drive you home." Mort responded and took Sumire's hand and left Klauss and the others on the deck. They immediately entered a certain room and Mort navigated the yacht and sailed it back to the port.
When they arrived on the dock, Mort carefully supported her. He holds her waist and together they went to his car, the Bugatti Chiron Noire parked nearby. Klauss along with Laurel, Narco, and the twins followed them with the remaining gifts they had for Sumire.
Boarded in his phantom car, Mort drove off the port and hit the scythe road heading back to the private home where Sumire lived alone.
An intense silence dominates inside Mort's car. Sumire noticed his fingers tapping the steering wheel which she found unusual. He runs his finger over his head and slick back his hair which Sumire finds sexy. His lips firmly closed where she tasted heaven, his thick eyebrows sexily frowned, and eyes were focused on the long road. His mind seemed to be in another dimension. Sumire silently studied his features and concluded Mort is indeed a very handsome man from any angle, whatever his fashion style and hairstyle will be. He is just too perfect.
When they arrived at her private villa, Mort immediately got out of the car and walked to the other side of the car, and opened the door for Sumire. After the maiden came out, Mort's warm jacket landed on her shoulder.
Sumire was about to speak when Mort, without a word, turn his back on her and went back inside the car and drove the car out of the place. Sumire was left dumbfounded and speechless at the gate as she watched the phantom car slowly fade into the darkness.
'What happened to him? Who was he talking to making his mood change?' She asked.
One minute later, three more vehicles arrived at her place where Narco and Klauss, Laurel, and the twins boarded with their own cars, loaded with gifts. They put all the gifts inside her manor and bid byes.
.............
When Mort arrived at the MDA building, walking menacingly alone in the lobby, he went straight to the private elevator and boarded inside. He headed to his office and open the door. From the dim place emerges a man in a white tuxedo holding a glass of wine while watching the city night on the glassed wall with one hand thrust into his pocket.
Dieu faced him and his head tilted to the right side. He flashed an angelic smile at his older brother. A deep, threatening tone bombed the place.
"What the fuck do you want?"
