FIVE DEED OF SALE
"YEGOR."
Eyes as cold as ice, Yelena looked at a Mafia Lord on her right side when he called her by her underground infamous name. Legs crossed beneath the table, she strictly raised an eyebrow at him. She is currently meeting with twelve Mafia Lords who are among the top fifteen powerful mafias in the Underground. As an heiress to the 2nd most powerful Mafia, the Odesseau clan, a mafia clan that seeks absolute power in the Underground, she is leading the meeting today. And as usual, Yelena didn't invite the Aslanovs who don't have an official successor yet.
The Aslanov Clan is the center of their meeting today. 'I can't invite someone I have already planned to eliminate.' Yelena wickedly smiled in her mind.
"What's your deal right now?"
Draco, a Mafia Lord, and ranked as the 3rd powerful figure in the Mafia world, asked in a serious tone. He was sitting on the opposite side of Yelena, with eyeglasses on and smoking in a pipe.
"Almost all the top fifteen Mafia Lords are present. So I assumed the Mafia King would be here, but I was fucking wrong." The middle-aged Draco added that Yelena plastered a mischievous smirk on her face.
"I didn't invite him." Yelena shortly replied. A Series of whispers quickly broke in the atmosphere. The Mafia Lords are disappointed and cast a hostile stare at the lone woman in the room. They even brought their offers and proposals for the Mafia King today as they thought of meeting him in person and they would be able to talk to him but it turned out their hope gone vanished.
"Then this is pointless." Lord Shen said in the 5th seat. Everyone agreed with him. Instead of getting annoyed, seeing the dismay and disappointed reaction of the Mafia Lords made Yelena so pleased.
"If the Mafia King isn't coming today, I'd better just leave. I have more important things to do." Lord Cien, 7th in the seat, said in an annoyed tone. Everyone stood up one after another to leave the place when Yelena spoke.
"Are you willing to leave even if it matters the Mafia King's infamous five deeds of sale?"
Frozen like a statue, the Mafia Lords felt struck by lightning in their feet. They did not expect that after a decade they would hear again the infamous five deeds of sale in the possession of the Mafia King, no other than Mort Dmitriv Aslanov, the feared man in the Underground. Slowly, they sat back down.
"You do know that uttering those words means absolute death?" Lord Draco said and composed himself. He couldn't hide the curiosity visible in his eyes about what Yelena had more to say.
"Of course, I'm aware of what I'm saying. I know bringing out those forbidden words comes with a greater price." Yelena answered confidently and another wave of murmurs from the Mafia Lords linger in the room again. They all cast a long suspicious glance at the woman.
"So what about it?" One of the Lords curiously asked. Yelena's grin widened, stretching from ear to ear.
"The five deeds of sale are in Dieu's hands."
The loud silence reigned and the Mafia Lords exchanged glances. Thinking. Don't know whether to believe Yelena or not. All were skeptical while eyes darted at the lady in the front, smiling at them widely. They are all aware that Yelena is a cunning, dirty liar, and cynical. She cannot be trusted, especially since she is the heiress of the Odesseau Clan. But it's a different story when it comes to the Mafia King's five deeds of sale.
"Dieu is the next in line to the throne of the Aslanovs?" Lord Cien assuredly asked, confirming what she claims is true.
"What do you mean by next in line? He was not even an option. He was not considered the 2nd heir of the Aslanovs. They rather picked Mischa." Lord Draco butts in as the Mafia Lords burst into loud laughter.
"Are you sure about this?"
Another one Lord asked and the lady nodded. Yelena knows that Dieu doesn't have it but she just wants to trigger a war in the Underground for her plans and self-interest. She knows that no matter how much the Mafia Lords are loyal underdogs of the Mafia King, their greedy nature will always reveal and awoke their interest especially when the five deeds of sale are involved. The deed of sale which the Mafia Lords are willing to die for just to have one of the pieces of those treasure.
"Yes."
"Then let the hunt begin."
Lord Draco replied with a meaningful smile and the meeting ended. They all leave the place with evil smirks on their faces. On that same day, the rumors of the five deeds of sale spread quickly throughout the Underground.
Yelena has returned home to the Manor of the Gordeux, the Odesseau Mafia family. A splendid inspired century-old home with modern amneties. Every rooms, corridors and halls were a reflection of her father's wealth. She strode the place calm and cold. Her heels made a sound with every step on the marble floor and she was greeted by the Butler of the family and his adoptive father, Don Ravius. Yelena give a kiss on the back of his father's palms and politely bowed.
"It's been a while, Father." Emotionless, Yelena faced him with a dead expression. The Head of the family cast a cold stare at her.
"How's your plan? Any progress?" He asked directly as he walked towards the library. Yelena followed after him and the Butler tailing them behind.
"Yes, father."
She answered after they arrived at the library. Yelena sits on the sofa. Her father was sitting in his swivel chair with Trevor's big portrait hanging on the wall behind him. It was the only thing in the Gordeux Manor that was painted in white and Trevor's smile shone like a sun, so bright and pure.
The Gordeux Manor has one golden rule. The member of the family is forbidden to smile or show any emotions on their face. Black and gray are the dominant color of the place and allowed to paint the inside casa walls. Be it with clothes or animals. But the lone Trevor's picture in the room is like a light of hope in a dark hell hole.
"Good. Now that you are the official heir of the Odesseau clan, I'll be expecting more of your achievements. I know you'll do your best as you are aware of what will happen if you fail." The Head of the clan meaningfully said. Yelena nodded, lips pursed into a thin line. Her eyes still lingered in Trevor's picture.
"Are you interested in that picture?" Her adoptive father asked and Yelena shook her head in disagreement.
"No. I was just wondering why it's still hanging in there. It's kinda ruining the vibes of this house." Yelena apathetically said. She cast a blank stare at the portrait.
Don Ravius looked dead straight into her eyes. She could feel his piercing stare behind those penetrating orbs. Yelena knew he didn't like what she said, but she doesn't seem to care at all.
"The audacity." The old man coldly said.
"Until now you're still threatened even though Trevor is gone? I told you already, your place as an heiress in this family is secure. Even if he's alive right now he's still useless in this organization, so he's better off dead."
Don Ravius said passionless. Yelena wanted to smile but was hindered by the rules of the house. What the Don's remark was truly pleasing to her ears.
Yelena vividly remembers everything well. She raised Trevor since he was born. She was 2 years older than him. The boy was very cheerful and dearly loves light, vibrant colors which are opposite to the rules of the house. His innocent chuckles always lit up the room. Trevor was rebellious in a good way. Even though he grow up and witness all the violence and trauma in his own eyes, it did not taint the young man's kindness. The Gordeux are forcing him to change as he is the next in line to the throne but Trevor never changed. The bright smile on his face never disappears no matter how twisted the situation he is in. The goodness in his heart remains within him that Yelena can't help but thought Trevor was an angel in a human form.
Why did he born into such a brutal Mafia family? Why does he need to be their biological child if he didn't inherit the cruel and demonic nature of the Gordeux? Trevor has also had a DNA test done several times to make sure that he is the son of her adoptive father, Don Ravius and unfortunately he is indeed his son.
'Trevor is just too good to be their son. And they don't deserve a precious child like him.' Yelena uttered in her mind.
The Gordeux was persistent in changing Trevor into a cruel person, but Yelena made a way. She convinced her adoptive parents and relatives to let Trevor do whatever he wants until he gets fed up and voluntarily returns to the family but it's been almost a decade. The young man hasn't returned home and made a name in the entertainment industry. It was a good sign for Yelena but bad omens for the Gordeux. They need him as an heir. And she knows that as long as he lives, the Gordeux will never stop pursuing him. So, she threatened him. Yelena made a deal with Trevor. If he doesn't want to return to the Odesseau Clan and wants to get out of the family for good then he has to do what Yelena wants. To befriend Sumire and give the present that will kill the maiden. If Trevor successfully does his task, she will do everything in her power to hide him away from his own family. But Yelena did not expect the outcome of her deal. She didn't think Trevor would be the one to die the night of Sumire's assassination. She miscalculated everything. Trevor took his own life. Yelena knew her younger brother too well. His conscience would kill him and he would rather die than doing the horrible thing she commanded him to do. Yelena didn't have a chance to tell the younger brother that he was her savior. She suffered worse at the hands of the Gordeux. She died a million times before she reached the peak where she is now. And in her dark times, Trevor was her only hope.
Now that he's gone she will take everything down with him.
'I'll start with Sumire and the Aslanovs.' Bared teeth, Yelena said in her mind. 'of course the Gordeux.' She added while looking at her foster father who was already reading a book.
"YEGOR, do you still remember Lord Vladimir?" Don Ravius asked, fixing the eyeglass on his pointed nose and looking at her. Yelena nodded.
"I heard Mort caught him but he hid some of Mort's secret weapons somewhere. I want it. So, look for those weapons." He orders in a firm and commanding tone. Yelena quickly rose to her seat.
"As you wish father," Yelena responded and bowed to him before exiting the library. She walked passed at the Butler who was standing outside the library waiting for the chairman.
"Take good care of him," Yelena said meaningfully. The Butler just nodded and bowed to her. Yelena finds her way on the long carpeted floor out of the mansion.
"Have those two kids been feasted by the sharks already? That's what they got for interfering with my plans. They even tried to trick that dumb bitch Victoria." Yelena rolled at the back of her mind and was about to enter her car when her eyes caught someone was tailing her.
"Death stalks huh." She meaningfully whispered to herself before starting the car's engine and driving away from the Gordeaux manor.
...........
Dieu was sweating profusely, has already received hundreds of calls and messages from different unknown numbers. He couldn't even get out of the condo for some reason. Eyes stared down, numbers of cars parked at the bottom of the building. He senses something bad is going to happen. Mischa wanted to visit him but he quickly stops her. He doesn't want their youngest sibling to be put in danger. Mort would definitely kill him if that happens.
"What's happening?" He messages Yakov in an email. His hands were sweating and shaking involuntarily.
[From Yakov: I'm on my way.]
"What the fuck is going on?" Dieu curses and looked at his computer where the CCTV cameras outside his condo were connected. In their business suit, surrounded by the hordes of armed men, the Mafia Lords were there looking menacingly at the entrance of the building.
They seemed to have no idea he is inside his condo unit. Dieu leave his car at the MDA building and probably some of their men went there to know his whereabouts. And he fucking knows they leave right away as Klauss and Laurel were there.
"Should I ask Narco for help?"
