I HATE YOU BROTHER
His face was twisted in nervous anticipation and his heart rapidly beat inside his chest as Dieu tried to contact Narco. Pushed hair back from his forehead, he tried several times calling him but the young man's number couldn't be reached. So is Lyric. Except for Leroy who answered his call right away.
"What is it?" Brows slightly knitted, Leroy asked in a gruff tone when he realized Dieu was on the other line.
Leroy was expecting a call from Narco and Lyric but none of them did. He has been trying to contact them, but his call quickly beeps ends when reaching out to their phone. He even called them on their other numbers and tried on other lines but no one answered. 'Something doesn't feel right.' said Leroy in his mind, feeling uneasiness as he waited for Dieu's answer to his question.
"Where's Narco?" Dieu directly asked. He keep his eyes locked on the men below the building as his head pounded in tension. Leroy frowned.
"This is the first time you've looked for your nephew with me. I honestly don't know either. I've been calling him for a while but I can't reach his phone. I've tried his other phones too but he answered none of them. What's the matter?" Leroy gave a sincere answer to Dieu's heavy sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose.
"I guess they're in big trouble." Dieu meaningfully said and ended up the call. Leroy was suddenly getting curious.
"Hey wait. Don't hang up-" But it was too late, Dieu hung up on him. Distressed and walking back and forth, ominous thoughts started to squirm at the back of his mind. Leroy quickly dialed Klauss's phone who answered him within a second.
"Spill it." It was cold and Leroy could feel the temper on the other line.
"I know Narco is one of the best assassins in the underground but I don't think he's in a good condition right now. It feels weird that I can't reach him when we definitely agreed to meet today. I can't even reach Lyric's number either. " Without beating the bush, Leroy said directly which made Klauss pleased at what he heard.
"Good for them. I hope they disappear for good." Klauss laughingly responded with a hint of sarcasm, which silenced Leroy. The minute of silence reigned and Klauss felt the person he was talking to on the other line was serious.
"This is serious. I think they're in trouble right now." There was a hint of desperation in Leroy's voice. He can't help but worried for those assholes.
"They are the troubles themselves. You're just being paranoid. They'll probably call you later." Unconcerned at all, Klauss said but Leroy was still unconvinced.
"But this is different. This kind of thing has never happened before. Sure, Narco rarely shows up himself during our meetups, but when he doesn't make it, he usually leaves a message." Lips grew thin and firm, Leroy said in a serious tone. Klauss was snapped back to his senses and massaged in his temple. He releases a series of deep audible sighs.
"Relax. Wait a little longer." Klauss said calmly but restless Leroy can't sit still. Ache in the belly telling him something was wrong.
"One of them is my twin and right now I don't feel good about this. My fucking instinct is telling me something isn't right." Voice thick and unsteady, Leroy still insists and his panicked thoughts grew wild messing his head. Klauss rolled his eyes and finally give up.
"I'll look for him," Klauss said. Feeling relieved, Leroy happily hung up on him. After Leroy ended the call, Klauss quickly dialed his Boss's number.
"Where are you right now?" Klauss asked when his Boss answered his call. He can hear the car's engine.
"On my way to Victoria's house," Mort replied nonchalantly. His pair of eyes coldly darted on the road while driving his way to the actress's home.
"Oh, your new girl?" Klauss kiddingly asked making Mort step on the brake which created a painful and piercing sound as he forcefully stop the car in the middle of the long road.
"Say that again." Mort in a cold and threatening tone to which Klauss laughed boisterously on the line and later became serious.
"Your son. I think he's in danger." Klauss wittingly swerves the conversation. Mort's dark and thick manly brows knitted into a frown.
"Activate it." Mort meaningfully commanded which alarmed Klauss. Gulped one after another, Klauss could feel his blood runs cold through his veins.
"You seriously put that thing on him?" Klauss asked in disbelief.
"Don't ask and just do it." Firm tone, Mort emotionlessly said. Klauss immediately hung up and followed his Boss's order with sweat made dark circles under his palms.
"Does that bastard even know this?" Klauss murmured to himself, unaware of Laurel's presence in the place who had entered his office uninvited.
"All my life I'm used to seeing black every day. But today is quite different. I can fucking see those men in black suits as darkness from the underground invading the surface like a poison. Bruh, somebody's gonna die today."
Laurel said that caught Klauss' attention and was stunned seeing her in his office. He had a second thought about obeying Mort's command. He let out an audible sigh and sit back. Laurel abruptly noticed Klauss's sudden silence. The silvered hair man stares blankly at the computer screen and in deep thinking. Feeling conflicted and unsure, worrisome is now evident on his face.
"What's wrong?" Laurel asked while dragging the high-end chair she had been carrying the moment she enters and placed it in front of him.
"You're starting to look pale." She added and angled her head on the side. Klauss just leaned back in his swivel chair with both hands locked behind his head.
"I can't do it," Klauss responded with his eyes closed and sigh again.
"Do what?" Laurel asks unknowingly. She has no idea what he is talking about. The young man stood up and his eyes pierce down on his tinted window, looking at the ground of the building where he see several numbers of black cars parked that were unfamiliar to him.
"Hey Klauss, what really is going on?" Laurel asked and the young man answered her with a shrug. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Don't fucking give me that vague shit. You know I can help you with anything. Just tell me." The lady said with legs crossed and eyed him intently.
"I have to go." Klauss quickly took his car keys and black attache case. He didn't even bother to give her an answer. Laurel was about to follow him when he stopped at the near door and faced her.
"You stay. I need your help here." He said, pointing at her and open the doorknob. Klauss shut the door leaving Laurel sat back on her chair unwillingly. Minutes passed the maiden playfully tapped her fingers on the table and she decided to look at what Klauss was doing earlier on the computer.
She rose up, went to his desk, and sit on his swivel chair. Laurel scans the computer and saw something she shouldn't have. "This is insane..." her hand slowly ascended and covered her open mouth, eyes widened in surprise on the screen. Laurel quickly called one of her men.
"Find that person." She ordered and emailed Narco's picture to him.
.............
While Leroy, Klauss, and Laurel are busy looking for Narco and Lyric's whereabouts. Mort has arrived at Victoria's house. He immediately got out of his car and with big strides, he barge inside the actress's home but saw the villa empty. The dead silence dominates the air and he never saw her presence nor her shadow in every corner of the vast place. His eyes peruses and there is no sign of chaos or foul play inside Victoria's villa. It was all done clean, the stuff and other things arranged neatly in their respective areas. It seems like she left the place like nothing bad happened.
The handsome hunk was certain Victoria was just here earlier. And now she disappeared like a bubble pops in the air.
"Damn these rats." Hands formed into a fist, Mort whispered to himself as he kicked the single sofa in the living room with one strike and it smashed against the wall. He then called Klauss but his secretary didn't answer him. Frowning, Mort reached him for the second time, but his call is rejected. On his third attempt, Klauss's phone was turned off.
"I fucking knew it." Mort left the house with a dark expression evident on his face and boarded into his car. While driving his way back to his building, he noticed the three black cars in the distance, openly tailing him.
He didn't pay attention to Yelena's men anymore. The only thing he doesn't understand is why the woman no longer hides the dirty thing she does to challenge him. It seems like she openly crosses Mort's territory like a suicidal maniac.
Mort accelerated the speed of his car back to the MDA building. And now the three vehicles are following and daringly racing up to him. He sped up on the empty highway not minding the speed limit. After a short minute, he hears police sirens behind. The seven police cars were chasing after him for breaking the traffic laws. They stopped him for overspeeding.
The gorgeous hunk did not hesitate to stop and confront them. The traffic policemen blocked his car to avoid any attempt of escaping. One of them had a piece of paper where the law of the road and penalty is written.
Mort got out of his car, stood taller than them looking hot and unbothered while the traffic police officers were already outside his car, looking up at him, gaping. The hunk never throw even a single glance at them but at the three cars stopped in the distance.
"Young sir, you are--" one of the police officers was cut off when Mort took something in his wallet.
"Here."
Mort reached for his black card to the traffic policemen. Eyes widened and stiffened on their feet, and they all exchanged glances. The hunk slightly frowned as his gaze locked on the cars, staring at the tinted glass of their car at the person driving at the steering wheel.
He hadn't even stepped forward to head in a certain direction where the three cars stop. Kaboom! A loud explosion bombed the place where the three vehicles suddenly exploded, making the policemen jolt in their place and quickly hide. The three raven cars were viciously flipped into the midair raining pieces of broken glass due to the impact before crashing back on the ground.
"What the fuck is that?" Hiding behind the patrol cars, they all emerge and approached the burning vehicles. Its debris cluttered the road, some tires flew in every direction. With that fatal blow, no one would surely survive the explosion.
The policemen saw the disfigured bodies of men lying lifeless and scattered on the ground. Some of them had their heads open, brains ruthlessly crushed, eyes pops out of their socket, and entrails gruesomely displayed on the road. Blood splashed on the ground and burned by the flaming inferno. All of them died on the spot. The cloud of black smoke ascended in the air with the scent of burning flesh as they hoped to search for life in that dreadful explosion.
Mort turn his back and got into his car when the attention of police officers was no longer on him and drive away in the place.
"She's sick," Mort whispered. When he arrived at the MDA building, a group of cars belonging to other Mafia Lords audaciously dominating and surrounding his business building appeared in his sight.
Mort hadn't gotten out of his car when his phone suddenly rings and Dieu's name appeared on the screen. He coldly stared at it before pressing the green button and answering his younger brother's call.
"Brother, I fucking hate you."
