111: Two pistols.
KIKI.
My eyes finally adjusted to the light I was exposed to, my arms were tied around a chair and the room looked empty.
When I looked to my side, who I saw smirking down at me was shocking.
“Fiorella?” I rasped out, feeling tired and worn out, I could taste blood on my lips as I spoke.
“Hello, sister!” She said with a scowl as she walked over to my front, she flipped the pocket knife in her hands over and over as she got even closer to me.
“You… you did this?” I asked, utterly shocked. We might not be getting along well but not once did I think she would ever be capable to doing something like this to me.
“Kinda!” She snapped and then chuckled before continuing, “what did you think was going to happen, Kiki? You think you would snatch my man and then do what? Go ahead and marry him? While I am alive? You think I would ever let that happen?”
“But… but this length? Fifi? This length? I am your sister no matter what, we grew up as kids, we lived in the same house? How can you even do this to me over a man?” I asked, scared of the way her knife kept flipping directly in my face.
“Well, maybe you should have thought of that and left Giovanni for me, uh? Isn’t he just a man afterall? Or did you not think of us being sisters before snatching my man?” She asked and the venom underlying her tone told me that she was here for business and that got me scared.
“Please, Fifi. You need to rethink this, this… this isn’t you. This is obsession, not love. You don’t have to ruin yourself like this, please.” I pleaded.
“Uh? You don’t get to tell me what I fell for anyone, bitch! You don’t get to! I know how I feel and its love! Also, I not going to watch you give birth to that bastard for him too, infact, you won’t have that happy ending you must have already fantasised about, not under my watch!”
No… no… no. Not my baby, not my child. Anything but that. How dis she get to know about what I had not even let out yet?
She started to move closer to me with a knife in her hands, such that she had the knife directly on my tummy.
“Please, Kiki. Please, don’t do this, if not for anything, for mom. For Gigi, for the bond we once shared, please, Kiki. “ I begged but she bursted out laughing instead.
“I like this, I like to see you begging me like this, it empowers me!”
I was about to say something when footsteps was suddenly heard, and it sounded like it wasn’t two nor three.
The cops!
They bursted in at the same time that Fifi had her knife pressed into me and with the way she looked at me, it was obvious that she had not mean to but she had already stabbed me.
“Tha… that was a mistake. I… I… didn’t mean to do that…” She stuttered immediately she threw the knife away while I started to writhe in pain.
“Raise your hands up!” One of the cops instructed while she kept looking around hoping to find a way to escape.
Just when she attempted to run, she was immediately caught by them and they tackled her to the ground and cuffed her hands.
The pain I was feeling was getting worse by now and when I saw Giovanni rush in and to my sides to immediately untie me from the chair, I felt so relieved.
GIOVANNI.
I looked at Kiki who was in so much pain in my hands as I yelled at whoever cared to listen, “where the fuck is the ambulance? WHY AREN’T THEY HERE YET!"
“My… my… ba… my baby.” Kiki choked out out of the pain she was in. Her white gown already had a red stain as the cloth seemed to continue absorbing the blood.
“Baby? What baby?” I questioned but before she could answer, it clicked.
THAT WAS THE SURPRISE!
She’s pregnant, we are pregnant.
And that was the straw, I couldn’t keep waiting for ambulance when I could try and get her to the nearest hospital myself, so I immediately carried her bridal style as I shoved everyone put of my way. I got her into my car ignoring the calls that followed me from the policemen.
Imelda got into the front seat with me while mom had Kiki’s head in her laps at the backseat as she continued to comfort and whisper soothing words to her.
‘No… no… no… this can’t be happening. This can not happen!’ I kept chanting mentally as I drove as fast yet carefully as I could.
But then, a car suddenly doublecrossed us stopping us from going further and out of the car came Gaston.
Alone but with two pistols in both hands.
“Get out of the freaking car, you bastard!” He yelled as he pointed both guns at our car.
I remained where I was as I kept looking back at Kiki who looked like she was already passing out.
“Get the fuck out or I’ll bath this darn car with bullets!” He threatened and I knew I had to go out and meet him before he says what he had threatened.
Nothing was impossible right now and it looked like he was ready to do whatever at this moment. I got out of the car with my hands raised up after I told the women in the car to remain calm and stay indoors.
“I’m coming out, Gaston. Please, do not shoot.”
“Oh shut it, bastard! You… you thought you were just going to do all that you did and go scot free? Uh?” He started and I knew I had no time for this.
“Please, Gaston, please, my… my wife is bleeding profusely in the car and she needs to be in an hospital right now else she might die, please, just let us go, please, Gaston.” I begged.
He bursted Into a laughter that made him look like a maniac, “Well, that’s good news. Now, you’ll loose someone and know how it feels to loose everything that’s yours, and I’m not going to let you go either, I think this will be another happy ending story for you both, don’t you think? The only difference is that you’ll have yours in heaven, or… uhm… HELL! Oops!” He said as he bursted out laughing again.
“Goodbye, Bastard!” He said as I watched his finger begin to pull the trigger, just then police sirens started to sound and the police officers started to match out of their cars, but they were too late already, I closed my eyes ready to receive death but even after the gun sounded, I noticed that I was still standing.
But when I looked down at my feet, I saw that Imelda was down, she had taken the bullet for me!
The police immediately fired their guns at Gaston, while I sat on the floor screaming my sister’s name.
As Kiki and Imelda was being out into the ambulance, I cried profusely.
I might loose two of the most important women in my life in one day.
