Chapter 39: Suites and Six packs.
KIKI.
“What did you say your names are again, ma'am?" It felt weird that the young lady behind the counter that had been eyeing the boss since we came up was addressing me as ma'am.
We arrived in Miami about an hour ago and were driven straight up to this lavish hotel; Fernando Hotels And Suites! A five-star hotel in all. From when I stepped into this moment, everything screamed of wealth and class. Common, it was a five-star hotel after all.
Giovanni groaned behind me, reminding me of his presence and I stiffened for only a second. He wasn't supposed to be affecting me this way.
“Giovanni Calisto and Kiki Ajayi,” I mumbled but who was I kidding? This was a waste of time. The lady typed away our names on the laptop before her. A name I knew wouldn't appear in the system.
She looked up at us after a brief pause, a frown occupying her pretty face. “I'm sorry ma'am but your name is not showing on the reservation list.” She told me the hardened truth.
“What?” Giovanni stepped up in front of her. I felt her eyes give him a once over and I immediately felt disgusted.
“How is that possible?” He mumbled, his brows furrowing in confusion. I looked away, feeling guilty.
“Kiki?” He called me. I sighed and turned around to face him.
“How is that possible?” He asked me, no he demanded. His tone was still stern. He was still mad at me from earlier.
“I may have forgotten to book a room beforehand,” I mumbled lowly. A crossed look came upon his face and he brought his hand to his face, exhausted.
“Christ!” He whispered, exasperated. Then, he went on to completely ignore me to speak to the receptionist.
“Is there anything you can do? I know you deal with reservations but please, we need to get suites immediately.” He asked, professionally.
“Sir, as you know that we deal with reservations beforehand, it would be hard to get you a suite. Especially with the business dinner party taking place here, tonight.” She enlightened him.
“Please, miss. We are here for the business dinner.” He pleaded and I felt bad. How did I manage to forget something as important as this, again?
“Give me a second.” She told him before going back to typing away on the laptop. A few seconds passed before she spoke again.
“There is a suite available.” She informed us.
“Oh great! Is there another one available? We need two.” He was in a haste to ask. It made me feel somehow that he wanted to get rid of me.
“I'm sorry sir but all the rooms have been booked.” She informed us. Giovanni sighed loudly. He was thinking.
“We will take it,” I told her, stepping forward for the keys.
“Sir?” She looked at him for permission but the stern look I passed her made her think otherwise. She gently reached for the key made in a card and passed it to me. I gave her a tight-lipped smile.
“Third floor, room 180.” She said as I turned back towards the boss.
The porter who was assigned to take care of our things started to lead the way and I followed suit, not meeting Giovanni's eye. We got into the elevator which took us up to our floor and finally, we got there.
I unlocked the door with the card and the door opened, giving us access to walk in. The porter led the way with our luggage. The room was very wide. There was an open door that showed the balcony area, down to the carved living room, moving straight up to the small stairs that led to the room.
The room welcomed us with a sea blue tinged with burgundy wine. The mixture of colors made the room alluring. It also had this scent I couldn't decipher, making it smell like home.
“Thank you,” Giovanni told the porter. He nodded and walked out, shutting the door.
Now, we were alone.
I stood awkwardly, pretending to gawk at the artistic portrait hanging on the wall in a corner. It was a painting of the sea waves. Typical Miami.
My head snapped forward when I heard him climbing up the stairs leading to the bedroom. Silently, I followed him with our stuff while struggling in between.
He completely ignored me as he went on his business to unpack some of his things. I watched him go to the closet area and then come out.
I was still standing watching him look so focused like he was alone. It scared me. Then, he started to unbutton his shirt, and my eyes widened, and the realization of what I had indirectly agreed to dawn on me. I was going to share a room with him and if I did that, it meant...
I gasped loudly but quickly clasped a hand over my mouth. I didn't know how to feel about that. By now, he had already finished with the buttons and was now removing the shirt.
My mouth went dry as I gawked at him, unashamedly. One, two, three, four...six packs. I went stiff by just staring at the abs before me. Giovanni wasn't bulky, thus, his abs and muscles were more defined.
He started to unzip the fly of his trousers and as though, he realized that someone else was in the room with him, he stopped short, grabbed his towels, and went to the bathroom.
I heaved a deep sigh, grateful that he didn't do that. I was starting to be in the mood. I collapsed on the bed, crossing one leg over the other. I went for my hair and released it from the band making it cascade down my back. The tap started running.
Seconds went by and I was starting to get nervous. I was going to apologize to him and if I was going to do that, I had to mean it. I heard the bathroom door unlock and he soon stepped out.
It took everything in me not to turn toward him at that moment but when he came by my side to select his casual outfit, I almost died.
Water was dripping down his body in lines from his hair as he dabbed at it with a towel. As he did that, trying to shake the water off, all I could do was gawk at the moment of his biceps, drooling.
I just sat quietly drooling unashamedly. I trailed his chest down his abs moving to his v-line area. Then, I stopped. What was I doing?
I had to get a hold of myself before I do the unthinkable.
