44. Guardian of Celestia
Everyone was watching me, trying to get Cora to fight me alone. They all were gathered around us, waiting for her decision.
"Why will I waste my time, Amaya, when I can have the pleasure to see you suffer every day?"
Cora said, smirking. She must have figured out what I was trying to do.
"Hm… so you are afraid of me then? Thank you for letting me know."
She watched me with narrowed eyes, expecting me to do something. So I did.
"I challenge you, Alpha of Blood Moon Pack, for your position!" I said in a confident voice, loud enough for everyone to hear.
He took a step forward, intending to hit me but stopped seeing the looks on everyone's faces.
We both knew he couldn't refuse the challenge. Because if he does, he will lose the respect of the pack members.
"I'm waiting, Alpha!" I said, looking at him, still frozen on his spot. He did not expect me to challenge him, so this caught him unprepared.
"Accept the challenge already, Mateo! You know this is the only option. So why are you wasting our time!" Cora shouts impatiently.
But I could see that she wanted to get rid of him. Maybe my words from earlier gave her new ideas. She won't take his place to be the Werewolves' Queen.
"I accept your challenge, Alpha!" He said, looking into my eyes.
"Good! So what form do you prefer? I will let you choose if you want to die a wolf or a human, so hurry up. I have things to do." I said sarcastically, smirking at him.
His anger grew visible. His clenched fists were shaking, and his chest was moving up and down at a fast pace.
"I chose to fight in human form, but there will be no other things used except your wolf's strength. No ice, water, or whatever else you can do!"
"Deal! Let's fight then!" I said, clapping my hands.
I knew he thought I was weak in human form. This is why he chose this. But he will be surprised.
I stepped forward, waiting for him to make the first move again. But he did nothing. I could see Cora's eyes glistening in excitement. Whoever will die today will make her happy.
Not being a very patient person, I could not wait for him any longer—this wasn't very pleasant. I started running towards him; my eyes never left his. He took a step back, avoiding my blow. I was using my left hand, aiming for his face, but he was fast. Good to know.
Immediately he swings his fist towards me, but I get down and punch him in the stomach. I allowed him to bend over me only to throw him on his back. My knees were in his arms, preventing him from using them. I start punching his face thinking at everything he has done to my family and me. Punch after punch while he was struggling to get up. My fists were now covered in his and my blood.
He started laughing out blood but still smirking at me like a crazy person.
Being on the brink of fainting, he starts shifting, making me fall off him.
"You fucking bastard! Even in a fight, you have no honour!" I shout at him. "Then die like bitch!" I added and ran towards him.
Ivy was screaming in my head to let her out, but I wanted to kill him with my bare hands. I wanted to humiliate him, to show to all of those who were following him how weak he was.
He growls and runs towards me—Wolf versus human in a fight till death.
When he got close enough, I slipped under him and punched his sides several times, breaking all of his ribs. I could hear him whining, trying to breathe, but both of his lungs were punctured.
I get up and turn around to face him. He tried to shift back but was too weak to do it. I got next to him, looking him in the eyes. He deserves to die, but I do not want to let him suffer anymore.
"See you in the Afterlife, Alpha Mateo!" I said and snapped his head.
Everyone kneels and bows their head.
"Alpha!" They all said, waiting for me to say something. But before I could, Cora started clapping and laughing like a crazy bitch.
"Not so fast! I am still alive, remember?" She said and lifted her hand to choke me. My lungs started burning immediately, and my chest felt like a horse was seated on it.
She lifts her other hand, and I knew I would die from lack of oxygen if I did nothing.
So I move my hand slowly and try to use my power. I felt my fingers frozen, and I knew I was ready. Ready to defeat her.
I sent dozens of tiny ice daggers in her direction, hurting both of her hands and legs.
"You bitch!!" She screams, crying in pain when she falls to the ground.
I cough violently when I inhale too much air, but I recover quickly.
"Where is my mother, Cora?" I asked her while an ice sword was forming into my right hand.
It was amazing, looking like an extension of me.
"Why would I tell you that?" She asked, chuckling sarcastically.
"Because otherwise, I will kill you."
"I will prefer to die than to leave by your mercy! I will not tell you where she is! You will never find her! Never! She will rot in there like a rat that she is!"
"Enough! I will not allow you to talk about her like this!" I yelled, annoyed by her disrespect.
I lift my sword, looking into her eyes.
"This is your last chance, Cora! Where is my mother?"
"Fuck you!"
"Mother?! What are you talking about, Amaya?" My father's voice came from behind. They were back.
"Father…" I said, looking at him, but I was pushed to the ground by a smirking Cora.
"It's time to say goodbye, Amaya!"
