Chapter 14 The Magical Kiss

I was seated on the bed with my mother. While she was feeding me with her own hands, I saw just gazing at her and tears of ecstasy were constantly streaming down my face.

She was feeding me for the first time, and for the first time, I was savouring and finding the food extremely delicious. She held some sort of enchantment in her hands.

Her eyes, which were filled with a tremendous amount of affection, I was completely absorbed in them with a beatific smile on my face.

I felt alive for the first time in ages after getting my mother, and this was only possible because of Jonathan. I wanted to meet him and express my gratitude for bringing light into my dark world. I was on cloud nine.

"Mom, I love you so much, and the food is so yummy." I embraced her firmly, and she hugged me back tighter and placed a tender kiss on my hair.

As we pulled apart and I fed her the Spanish rice, a solitary tear streamed down her cheek. I wiped it away and fed her another spoon of rice while she gazed at me with pure love in her eyes, her lips curved in a blissful smile.

"God bless you." She cupped my face and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. I smiled with utter contentment. I was so grateful to God for giving me my mother.

I curled up in Mom’s arms after dinner. The warmth of her arms was pure ecstasy.

She shared a lot of things with me during the day as we watched movies, cooked, and danced. Her life had been filled with suffering; she had been tormented by that bastard for 17 years. For my sake, she remained silent and never retaliated. It was now my responsibility to look after her.

It was late at night, and Mom had already dozed off in my room. For the first time in my life, I ate twice a day. Previously, I only ate once a day to survive, and most days, I didn't even eat anything because no one was home to ask if I was eating my meal or not.

My eyes began to well up with tears as I thought back on the old days.

"No more tears, Mia, because it's time to relish every moment of your life with your mother to the fullest. Happiness is waiting for you." I murmured and wiped my tears with a small smile on my face.

I let go of all my thoughts before getting out of bed and properly tucking Mom into the quilt. “I’m sorry,” I murmured while kissing her forehead. I felt terrible that I couldn't be there for her.

I stood straight and mumbled, staring straight in determination. “Now it’s time to bring back Jonathan.” I decided to execute my plan.

I crept out of the room and went straight upstairs. I arrived at the terrace.

I took a deep breath before striding to the railing and standing on it.

Like previously, I intended to jump because I was confident Jonathan would arrive to save me as usual. I knew again, I was endangering my life, but I was left with no choice.

"Please come and save me, Jonathan," I murmured as I closed my eyes before jumping off the terrace. I had complete faith in him and knew he would come to protect me, so I was not afraid.

I was about to jump down when I felt someone wrap his arms around my waist from behind and lift me into his arms.

I instantly recognised his touch without seeing his face. It’s Jonathan. My heart almost stopped beating when I felt his arms around me, and his proximity drove me insane like always.

“Jonathan," I murmured, and a smile of profound relief spread across my face when he put me down on the floor.

I swiftly turned to him, beaming with delight because my plan had succeeded. As usual, he arrived to protect me. My joy had no bounds.

I spoke, beaming with sheer confidence in him. “I was certain you would come here to save me, Jonathan." My eyes were bright with joy, and my lips were drawn to a contented smile, but he was shooting daggers at me.

I understood why he was angry, because I had once again put my life in jeopardy, but he couldn’t even express his concern for me by reprimanding me for it, because I had to hide his true feelings from me.

"Jonathan, you are not Monster, because I have found out why you murdered my father. Thank you for bringing me the greatest joy of my life, and I apologise for not trusting you and asking you to leave." As I placed my hand on his cold face, he frowned and yanked my hands away in a rage.

"Why are you doing this to me and to yourself, Jonathan? Why aren't you accepting that you love and care about me? Please, Jonathan, say something." As I grabbed his collar and begged, he roughly removed my hands, hurting me by digging his nails into my arms. Because of his harsh behaviour, my eyes became moist.

"I love you, Jonathan; please say something. Please speak up because your silence is killing me." This time I placed both of my hands on his face, and he jerked them away, fuming in anger, not ready to break his silence.

We continued doing this while remaining completely silent, acting like obstinate children. He was tugging my hands as I put them on his face. I was dying to hear his voice.

“Jonathan, please, speak up. Stop hurting me and yourself. I-“ I just froze in my place for a few seconds and my eyes dilated in utter disbelief when, all of a sudden, he shushed me by capturing my lips after pulling me to himself by cupping my face. I wasn't expecting this to come so soon. This really did feel like a dream to me.

When his lips touched mine, I experienced an amazing sensation, and desire erupted throughout my entire body. As he sucked my upper lip, I automatically sucked his lower lip in return. Like this, our lips moved in rhythm. To be honest, his lips were heaven on earth for me.

I never expected a mere kiss to make me feel alive, but it did. When he kissed me passionately while grabbing my hair, every cell in my body came to life.

I kept my hands on his strong chest. He savagely ate my lips, as if he'd been craving the kiss for ages. The more he devoured my lips, the better and hotter I felt. It was as if his lips were made for mine. I was responding to him automatically.

It was extremely magical. At this point, I wanted to pause the time because I didn't want him to stop and, if it was a dream, I didn't want to wake up.

For me, it was a true paradise. My first kiss with the love of my life was more than incredible, and the sensation of it was something that cannot be adequately expressed in words.
