Chapter 31 The Fighter Mia
Chapter 31 The Fighter Mia
We made our way to Jonathan's room, and my heart thumped with fear, as it always did. I took a deep breath to summon strength before stepping inside as James pushed the door open. I saw him lying on the floor in the dark.
As soon as James turned on the light, Jonathan stood up and stared at us; guilt and sorrow is etched on every line of his face.
I gave him a faint smile but as he looked at me with bloodlust in his eyes, my lips drew down in despair.
‘When will he get normal? I’m desperately waiting for that day.’
"Aaa..." He was walking towards me, and then he suddenly began screaming in agony while holding his head, causing my eyes to widen in shock.
I shifted my gaze to Nora, who was muttering something while her eyes were locked on him. I understood immediately that Nora was casting a spell on him, but my love was in profound pain.
"Nora, stop doing this. You are hurting him." I let out a cry of agony because I couldn't see him in pain.
He was constantly screaming in agony, so I ran to him, but I came to a halt on my path when Nora said, "Mia, don't go near him." I stared at him helplessly, tears welling up in my eyes.
"James, tie him up quickly." Tears streamed down my cheeks as she ordered James. I couldn't see him in sorrow.
While Nora made a circle on the floor with red powder, James dashed out of the room to bring the ropes. I was just standing there still, staring at Jonathan, feeling so helpless.
When James returned, he began typing his limbs. Jonathan was shrieking in pain, and I couldn't help him. I had never felt so vulnerable in my life. I cried silently as my lips quivered.
"Bring him into this circle, and then I'll begin the process, and Jonathan should not leave this circle during the whole process." We nodded in agreement as Nora instructed us.
James hauled him into the circle and forced him to sit in the centre, and Nora began chanting a mantra.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and all of the windows in the room burst open automatically, while my heartbeat accelerated with dread and I prayed for Jonathan's recovery.
James placed his hand on my shoulder and blinked his eyes as I stared at him with apprehension. “Brace yourself. Everything is going to be alright, Mia.” He reassured me by gently squeezing my shoulder, and I just gave him a slight nod.
But how could everything go so smoothly?
Five or six unfamiliar people arrived out of nowhere in the room. Perhaps they entered through the windows.
I looked at James, perplexed. "They are Katrina's evil vampires. Don't worry, I'll deal with them as best I can with my power." I exhaled with relief as he reassured me.
I saw them standing close to Jonathan and Nora.
My brow furrowed with dread as James informed me in a distressed tone. "Mia, they're wearing special rings, so my special power isn't working on them. I can't freeze them."
Without thinking twice, I rushed to Jonathan and Nora as the vampires prepared to attack them, and without hesitation, I shoved every vampire away. They all turned to face me and began walking towards me. Although I was horrified, I was also aware that now was the time to take action rather than just cower in fear.
James fought with vampires, and I tried to fight them as well. When two vampires were about to attack my neck, I grabbed the first vampire's neck with one hand and pushed the second vampire away with the other.
The vampire perished in front of my eyes when I fervently gripped his neck. I was taken aback by my own power and grateful for getting them at the right time.
It wasn't tough for me to slay all the vampires after that. I battled them courageously and confidently. When I saw one of the vampires about to attack Jonathan, I twisted his hand behind his back and slammed his head against the wall before grabbing his neck and killing him.
I never thought that I would ever kill vampires in this way, but I was willing to do anything for Jonathan.
When I saw the last remaining vampire about to choke James by clutching his neck, I dashed over to them and yanked the vampire away from James by grasping his hair from behind before hurling him away in a rage. To save his life, he scurried out the window.
“Coward!” I murmured.
James looked at me in astonishment. I also gave him the same look because I was surprised at myself.
"Thank you." He murmured, and I passed him a small smile.
After that, I noticed Jonathan lying unconsciously on the floor.
"It's done; now no one can control his mind or cast any magic on him anymore." As Nora stated, I let out a deep sigh of relief and grinned broadly at her. My joy knew no bounds since I had finally gotten my Jonathan back.
I sprinted over to Jonathan and hurriedly freed him as tears of happiness streamed down my cheeks nonstop and a beatific smile formed on my lips.
I kissed every inch of his face and murmured, 'I love you, Jonathan,” after every kiss. I was over the moon.
I embraced him firmly because I wanted to bury him in my arms forever.
"When will he regain consciousness?" I looked at Nora and inquired, my voice filled with concern.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine in a few minutes." I closed my eyes and exhaled with relaxation as she responded.
James carried him to the bed and laid him down while I just stared at him concernedly.
"We're out there." Nora informed me, and she and James exited the room with one last glance at me.
I sat next to him and tenderly stroked his dark beard with my thumbs, before lowering my head and kissing his forehead.
"Every time I see you, I feel as if I've known you for ages; there's some connection between us. I'm not sure why, but I love you, Jonathan." I murmured, affectionately running my hand through his silky hair before coming closer to his face to kiss his lips.
A shiver ran down my spine as his breath stroked my face, and before I could kiss him, his eyes opened, and then we locked our piercing gazes on each other.
