Chapter 46 A Plan
The following day, I visited James's house without informing Jonathan. We sat in the living room.
"James, I have devised a plan to take down Katrina.” I informed him.
"What?" He inquired, and I proceeded to explain the plan to him.
"Mia, this is risky. Does Jonathan know about this?" He asked, visibly concerned for me.
I shook my head. "We can't inform him because he would never allow me to confront Katrina. You know that only I can end her. James, will you assist me?" I implored, looking at him with pleading eyes.
"It's not right, but we have no other choice. How can I help?" He reluctantly agreed, and a faint smile appeared on my face.
"All you have to do is freeze Jonathan so he won't stop me from going after Katrina." I began to speak, but before I could continue, we heard Jonathan's shout.
"Freeze me now, James!" He stormed toward us in fury, glaring at me, and we gaped at him in shock. "And do it permanently!" He added, fixing his gaze on James.
I stood up and uttered, "Jonathan, please listen to me."
He interrupted me with a shout, "You listen to me, Mia! I won't let you leave me until I'm alive. If you want to fight Katrina, you'll have to fight me first. As long as I'm alive, I won't allow you to confront her. I won't ever allow you to endanger your life." He grabbed my arms and pulled me towards him, his eyes burning with anger.
"Jonathan, Katrina is still alive.” I spoke, and he closed his eyes, trying to compose himself.
"We'll handle it.” He reassured me, loosening his grip.
"Why can't you understand that we need to finish her before she plans something? I can't bear to see you suffer any longer because of her. Please, Jonathan, let me fight her.” I stared at him with pleading eyes.
"I have a plan, but we need Nora's help for it.” He stated.
"What plan?" James questioned, rising to his feet.
"I'll approach Katrina and pretend that I've finally realized she's the one for me. I'll mix poison in her drink, a poison that Nora can create using her magic spell to kill the vampire.” He explained the plan to us. His plan seemed flawless.
However, the question remained: would Katrina fall into our trap?
"But what if Katrina discovers your true intentions, Jonathan?" James inquired, concerned.
"She's obsessed with me, and I'm certain she will believe me. Even if she catches me, she won't harm me. So we can execute this plan safely.” He assured, looking at us.
It was an excellent plan.
"Okay, I'll talk to Nora about the poison.” I agreed.
"And never, under any circumstances, endanger your life.” He warned me in a stern tone, and I remained silent.
***
The following morning, Nora arrived with the poison.
As Jonathan was about to get into the car, I planted a lingering kiss on his lips and whispered, "Good luck."
"Don't worry, today I'll return after ending Katrina's presence in our lives forever.” He assured me, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.
Afterwards, he settled into the car. We exchanged glances, and his car drove away.
"Please, God, stay with us today and help us eliminate that despicable woman.” I prayed as I entered his house. Nora was sitting in the living room.
I sat down beside her, consumed by worry.
"Everything will be fine, Mia. Don't worry.” As she reassured me, placing her hand on my shoulder, I gave her a blank look.
After some time, Nora and I were conversing when suddenly I fell off the sofa as if someone had pushed me.
"What happened to you, Mia?" Nora asked, filled with concern. I was bewildered.
"I don't know." I shook my head, struggling to stand up, using the table for support. My body was in pain, and I felt exhausted and weak.
Then, my phone rang, and we both glanced at it sitting on the sofa. It was Jonathan’s call. I hastily answered and put it on speaker.
"Angel, are you okay?" Jonathan asked, his voice filled with worry.
"Jonathan, I don't know why I suddenly fell off the sofa. My entire body is in pain. I don't understand what's happening to me.” I explained, feeling the pain intensifying. It was agonizing, and I couldn't comprehend what was occurring.
"Oh, damn it! Katrina was right.” Jonathan groaned in fury.
"What happened, Jonathan?" I inquired, sensing that something was seriously wrong.
Biting my lower lip, I fought the urge to scream in agony. The pain was becoming unbearable as if my entire body was on fire.
"Is Nora with you?" He asked, sounding tense.
"I'm here with her, Jonathan.” She responded, taking the phone from my hand and helping me to sit on the sofa.
My condition was worsening. I lay down on the sofa, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"What's wrong? What's happening to Mia?" She asked Jonathan, utterly perplexed and worried as she stared at me.
"Ahaaa..." I couldn't hold back any longer and let out a shriek of immense pain.
"Mia..." Jonathan's voice echoed with concern, and I struggled to suppress my screams, aware that he couldn't bear to witness my agony.
"What's happening to her, Jonathan?" Nora asked again, and Jonathan revealed something utterly unexpected. We both were left speechless.
