Forty three
"Vampire? That's what you're called?" Layla asked out of curiosity as she walked up to Gaius.
"Don't bother asking any more questions cause you're not getting anything else from me," Gaius spat out.
Layla clicked her tongue. "Don't be ridiculous you bastard. You're gonna have to talk and whether or not you want to isn't any of my business," she told him and he scoffed.
"Now you bastard, will you start telling me what I need to know or do I have to force it out of you?" Layla asked, still maintaining her cool.
"You're not getting anything else out of me," Gaius repeated and immediately, Layla's hands flew across his face. She slapped him and she slapped him hard.
"Tell me where you bastards hide and how the fuck you even got into this place!" Layla demanded.
"As if I'd actually tell you any of that. I already told you I'm not telling you anything else," he replied sternly and Layla, out of anger, punched him right across his face.
"Hit me as much as you want, lady. I'm still not saying anything," he spat out.
Layla sneered. "How about we strike a deal then? Since you don't want to talk the easy way, I'll offer you an irresistible deal. Wanna hear it?" she leaned, wearing a sadistic smile on her face and Gaius simply stared back at her with disgust.
"Well here it is buddy, I'll be kind enough to let you go but only if you tell me a little about you vampires or whatever you call yourselves. Doesn't that sound like a fair deal? I believe it absolutely is but the problem is, if you don't agree or accept my very considerate deal, we'll have to go with the very brutal and merciless option and I'm not talking about simply putting back under the sun for only a few minutes. I'm talking about leaving you under the sun for the rest of the day and watching you slowly burn to death. So which one is Gaius? Would you rather accept my kind offer or die a very painful death?" she said to him, whispering the last part in his ears.
"Rot in hell!"

"Where's Damien?" Kira asked Draco as soon as they were all settled in the meeting room to discuss the issue with the vampires.
Somehow, Layla was successfully able to force out more information from Gaius. Even though it took her quite a while to get him to spill, she successfully had her way and got him to tell her more about them and their actual aim. The only thing she couldn't get from him was their exact location and the reason behind their constant attack.
"I actually have no idea where he is. He was here not too long," Draco told Kira, wondering where he could have disappeared to.
"If that's the case then I'm sure he'll be back soon. Let's begin," she announced as everyone took their seat.
"We were finally able to get a name from that bastard and apparently, those monsters are called vampires. We also found out they're aim is to slowly annihilate every werewolves in existence which means they must really hate our guts. Why they hate us so much and are after us, is what we still don't know," Kira announced to the pack elders, including Layla, the third in command and Draco.
Sebastian sighed. "At least, we now know what their real names are and what they want from us. We can still use this to our advantage. I suggest that we continue with our initial plan and continue to use ourselves as baits to draw more of them in and capture them. We've already directly declared war against them and it's only smart that we keep going after them. I'm pretty sure they're also aware that one of them has gotten caught," he stated.
"You do have a point Sebastian," Layla said, clasping her hands.
"On second thought Sebastian, I don't think it's a very good idea. It's way too risky to repeat the same process. We'll only be putting lives at risk and I doubt they'll just walk into our trap again unprepared. They're not that stupid," Layla added very quickly.
"I don't agree with that lady, Layla," Draco interjected.
"Forgive me for interrupting but in my opinion, they already started this war and I can assure you that they already know how they plan on going about it. Now we know that these people look exactly like us which means, they can navigate their way around us without us even realising it. We can't possibly keep playing safe and moving along with ineffective plans just because we're afraid that people might get hurt. Whatever option we take, lives are bound to be lost and we can't avoid it just because we want to,"
"Also, I strongly believe that whatever plan we come up with, will eventually be leaked to them because we have an infiltrator amongst us and the basis of this belief is what happened to my younger brother and how he was killed even after he had recovered. Someone is feeding this people information and if we don't act fast, we'll all be dead before we even realize it," Draco stated.
"I don't know about going with the initial plan but what I do know is that we need to do something and we need to do it fast. These people may look like us but they're not exactly like us. I'm not trying to underestimate us or anything but compared to them, I don't think we're strong enough. From what we've observed, they are very fast, just like we are but a lot faster, they also heal fast like we observed from the captive and they have weird teeth that help them drain out a person's blood in mere seconds. We know the sun hurts them but other than that, we don't know what else can actually hurt them," Kira spoke up and everyone else in the room sighed.
"Where is Damien?" Kira asked Draco again once she realized that he still wasn't present yet.
"I don't know but I will go find him," Draco said, getting up on his feet.
"Okay, thanks," Kira muttered, her thoughts digressing a little.
She hasn't exactly been herself since earlier and Damien's sudden attitude wasn't exactly helping. She didn't think their relationship would take such a bad turn after the night they had and she suddenly felt a lot less confident because of him.
"So what are you suggesting we do Alpha Kira? You're basically saying that we can not fight them and if that's the case, what do we do then? Should we just sit back and wait till they kill us all?" Sebastian questioned in his usual impatient tone, snapping Kira back to reality.
Kira let out a frustrated sigh. "We obviously won't just be sitting back Sebastian but we won't be jumping into an unsafe plan either. What we'll keep doing for now, is torturing the bastard we have here till he tells is what we really want to know. What we need to know is where bastards are hiding in our pack and even outside our pack and how we can actually kill them without having to wait until it's daytime," she responded.
Sebastian laughed sarcastically. "You really think he'd just tell you how to kill him when he knows very well that he'll be the first to die as soon as he spills? You have got to be kidding me! It's so obvious that he won't say a word cause he knows what our intentions are and it's so glaring that those bastards are actually tight lipped," he hissed.
"We'll never know unless we try Sebastian," Layla chimed in.
"How about we do this instead? We let this Gaius guy off the hook and when he leaves, we trail him until he leads us to wherever the rest of them are hiding," Enoch, one of the eldest members suggested.
"That sounds good and all but he is no fool to just believe that we're letting him go. It's not like you'd believe such either," Sebastian snorted.
"If we go with that horrible idea, he'll probably lead to a completely different place or even worse, he might end up leading us into a trap. You've heard the news about the consistent report of strange deaths in the Silvermoon pack. Our pack hasn't gotten to that point just yet but if we keep being so lenient and coming up with ridiculous plans, in no time, we'll have more dead bodies that we can even imagine," Sebastian hissed.
"So what do you suggest we do?" Enoch yelled furiously at Sebastian as he was sick and tired of him.
"Enoch, please remain calm," Kira pleaded, noticing that he was starting to lose his temper..
"Sebastian, can you not say anything else until this meeting is over?" Kira instructed tiredly.
Ever since she has known him, all he ever did was make things difficult to understand even though she understood where he was coming from.
"You do realize that there is no war where risks aren't taken, right? If my father was alive, what do you think he'd do? Just sit back and watch with the intent or reusing the same plan? Wait till the enemies are at his doorsteps before he takes action to protect his people?" Kira asked, getting up from where she sat.
"I learned from my father that the best way to fight your enemy is to make them think twice before coming into your territory. We've gotten Gaius and I'm pretty sure they've already noticed. So we'll have to invade them but in a different way this time around and if we manage to catch at least three of them, that will shake them up and make them rethink their plan. Our aim for now should be knowing our enemy, not attacking them blindly," Kira stated calmly.
"I just need some time to properly come up with a plan on what our next step will be but until something definite comes up, we need to make sure we find out from Gaius, as much information as we can. Now, I'd appreciate it if everyone can leave and let me think by myself," she added tiredly and everyone else slowly started to make their way out of the meeting room.

Kira paced around the room with a lot going through her mind. She started to wonder what her father would do if he were in her shoes but she could not think of anything.
At this point, she had to make a decision that would satisfy every party but nothing was coming to mind just yet.
The door to the meeting room flew open and Draco walked in.
"Have you seen Damien? Where is he?" Kira asked immediately.
"No, I couldn't find him, Kira. I think he went back to our pack without informing me but I'm pretty sure he'll be back soon," he informed her, adding the last part so she doesn't worry too much. He was still surprised that Damien had just left without even informing him and he couldn't even know how Kira would feel.
Kira's heart sank to the pit of her stomach. The fact that he'd just left without telling her made her heart feel heavy.
She noticed how weird he had been acting since earlier this morning but she wasn't expecting him to just leave without informing her.
"Thanks for letting me know Draco," she spoke up, masking her sadness with a false smile.
"I'll let you know when he gets back," Draco assured before walking out of the room.
She placed her hands on her chest to calm her raging heart and her eyes immediately became teary. All she could think of at that moment was that he had gone back to meet Sheila and the mere thought alone hurt her so much.
She clenched her fist in anger.
"Wow Damien! Just wow!" she muttered shakily under her breath before walking out of the meeting room and heading to her bedroom with tears streaming down her face.
