Forty four
A smile formed on Sheila's face when she saw Damien approaching her. A while ago she had gone in search of him since she had not seen him in quite a while but to her disappointment, she found out that he had left the pack to go visit the Redmoon pack. Her blood boiled when she found out and she really could not believe that things had gone that far between himself and Kira and the fact that he didn't even know when he was leaving made her even angrier.
She hadn't really been herself in the last few days and she wasn't exactly as confident and as sure of herself as she used to be when it came to him. Damien hadn't been the same for a while now she feared that she was letting him slowly slip out of her fingers.
"Damien," she muttered immediately, not bothering to hide the excitement in her tone. She hadn't seen him in such a long time and she had absolutely no intention of wasting the golden opportunity she was getting to remind of her importance in his life and why he had fallen in love with her in the first place.
She walked towards him and hugged him tightly with her head resting on his chest. She let out a sigh of relief when she realized that he made no attempt to push her off, neither did he react like he was offended or displeased by her hug and to her, this could only mean that things weren't over for her just yet.
She knew Damien couldn't have just fallen out of love for her especially since they've known each other since they were children and have been together for years now. She knew the mate bond was pretty strong and all, at least according to what she heard but as far as she was concerned, nothing could possibly be stronger than how far they had come together and the obstacles they had faced together and now even that bitch Kira, could take that away from her.
Sheila pulled back a little from the hug so she could see the face of Damien. "You left me," she pouted as tears filled her eyes.
The words of Nathaniel resurfaced in her head and she knew she couldn't fail him anymore. She needed to make things with Damien go back to how they were before.
"I didn't leave you Sheila," Damien replied quickly.
"Then what happened? You suddenly left for the RedMoon pack and you told me absolutely nothing about it. I had to search absolutely everywhere for you before I found out from a guard that you had left the pack. Is there a reason you had to leave so quickly without even informing me? Come on, tell me babe," she said to him, trying to play on the fact that he hasn't been treating her right. She tried making eye contact with him but Damien wasn't looking at her.
She needed to play her victim card properly and make sure to make him feel bad, so she did exactly what she had done in all these years and began to cry.
"You know what?" she muttered, walking away from him and towards her bed.
"You can just tell me to my face Damien instead of pushing me aside and making me like I don't mean anything or like I no longer exist," she said, wiping off the lone tears that rolled down her cheeks and sniffling a little.
"You can just tell me you don't want me anymore and that you want to be with Kira. I mean, It's fine because now it's only obvious to me that from the start, you never really loved me. I was just someone you needed to warm your bed till you eventually found your mate," she added, letting out sighs and allowing tears to well up in her eyes and then fall down her face on it's own.
Damien clenched his fist in frustration. He felt really bad seeing her cry. He couldn't believe that of all people to cry, it had to be Sheila, the most supportive woman in his life. Sheila had literally sacrificed her pride in the last few years just to be with him, despite the fact that she wasn't exactly the strongest person in the world and yet, the best thing he could do for her was to make her cry.
After what happened with Kira, he had been thinking quite a lot. He hated himself for even thinking about it when he still had Sheila by his side but he just couldn't help it. What he felt for Kira last night was not only a very strong feeling, it was a frightening feeling as well.
When his lips had touched hers, it felt as though a powerful wave ran down his spine, something he never felt before with Sheila.
He was drawn to Kira. He moved in sync with her and it was as if they'd been together for years. Now his question to himself was, was everything he had felt his wolf's emotions, or, was it really him?
He has been contemplating if he had touched Kira at will or if it was their individual wolf just acting out. If Kira's aunt had not come that suddenly, he was sure they would have had sex that night but what scared him was the feelings he felt at that moment, it was something he never felt being with Sheila.
He has been with Sheila for years now but has never done anything that was out of control before.
With Kira it felt natural and with Sheila, it was just what it was, nothing overly special at all and he had come to check for himself if what happened was just his wolf being attracted to her and wanting her or if that was actually him, in his right mind, wanting her.
He began to walk towards Sheila as she ranted nonstop. Before she realized it, he leaned down and kissed her.
Sheila was surprised by Damien's sudden action but a smile formed on her face as she felt she had been able to successfully guilt trip him.
Unlike what Damien felt with Kira the other night, with Sheila he felt nothing special.
What he felt while kissing Sheila all the time was what he felt now while kissing her.
He was very confused. All the while he kissed Sheila, he felt like he was on top of the world and sex with her was mind-blowing.
When he kissed Kira, the feeling was extraordinary. It was as if he didn't know what he was doing but he knew he was doing something. He didn't want anything to stop and with her everything moved in sync.
Damien pulled back from the kiss as he ran his finger through his hair. 'Fuck!' he cursed.
What does he feel for Sheila and what does he feel for Kira? He asked himself.
All the while he was with Sheila, he felt on top of the world and now after kissing Kira and then kissing Sheila again, he realized that there was something way more pleasing and electrifying with Kira than with Sheila.
He couldn't hurt Sheila. She is the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. She had been in his life for a long time and he had vowed to always protect her.
He refused to admit that he doesn't feel anything for Sheila anymore and so he claimed her lips once again in a more demanding way.
He used to love kissing her but now he felt nothing at all.
He pushed his tongue into her mouth and she moaned softly. When Damien heard her moan, he was reminded by Kira and how her soft moans turned him on.
Just by thinking of Kira, he felt his pants tighten. He pulled back from the kiss, looking into Sheila's eyes.
Those sparks were no longer there and he finally confirmed what he was afraid of accepting.
He likes Kira and not just in an ordinary way.
"Why did you stop Damien?" Sheila asked frantically. She could tell something was bothering him and she needed him to let it out as she wanted every information she could get and use it against them.
Damien closed his eyes for some seconds before he opened them. He sighed deeply,
"Nothing is wrong," he lied.
"Come on, you know that's a lie. You know you can tell me anything, right? Remember we promised to not keep any secret from one another?" she reminded him.
"It's nothing Sheila," he told her while caressing her cheek.
He hasn't left her yet but he already felt guilty. He promised her the world and now he was scared he might not be able to give her the world he promised.
"Okay fine. If you say it's nothing, then that's okay. Come on, you know it's been a long time since we took care of ourselves?" she batted her lashes at him while pulling him towards the bed.
"I miss being under you and riding you," she said looking into his eyes.
If it was before, Damien would have been turned on by her flirting and teasing but now, he wasn't moved.
He didn't want to compare both girls but he couldn't deny what he felt for Kira. It was entirely new to him and it was just something he could not explain with mere words.
Damien didn't want to hurt Sheila. She deserved way better, he thought to himself and he didn't want to have sex with her with the thought of another woman and so he pulled back.
"Damien…,"
"I will come back to talk to you, for now, I have to do something," he lied to her and left the room in a hurry, not giving her the time to catch up with him or stop him.
