Sunset in paradise

Lucifer's POV

We spent days at the waterfall and every morning was a whole different experience for me. I began to see the good in everything.

I began to admire the sun, appreciating the beautiful blue skies. I appreciated nature too and there was this radiant smile on my face and it was coming right from inside of me. I was full of happiness and joy.

Was this what it was to be truly in love? I had no doubts it was. The feelings were so pure and true. I would do anything to make this feeling last forever.

Not only I was having this same glow in and out of me. Ash was having it too. Her smiles and laughter were never ending and they were very infectious to me. Her vibrance had its effects on me too. I would do whatever it takes to keep her this way. Keep her happy. Keep her smiling. Never a single day would she have a cause to be sad. Never would I let her have a reason to regret giving me her heart.

I stood before the waterfall having beautiful thoughts about her and the very image of my thoughts slipped her arms around me from behind, her head resting on my back. I could tell her presence from her scent and single touch. I was way too familiar with it.

I placed my hands on hers covering them. "I want to be this way with you forever." She said and I smiled.

"Dear little hybrid vampire, have you not heard of the saying ' nothing lasts forever?'" I teased her.

"This one will and if all forces in heaven and hell try to say otherwise, try to change this fate, then I shall go against them all." She said in a determined tone.

I pulled her from behind me to stand in front of me. My eyes bored into hers as I lifted her chin up to gaze deeply into those beautiful icy blue eyes that had captivated me from day one.

"You'll fight heaven and hell to be able to cherish what we have?" I asked her. She nodded. "What about the earth?" I inquired raising a brow.

"All forces on earth too." She said.

"You do not have to do it all alone. We're in this together. No one, not even the moon goddess can change what we have. I'm never leaving your side, Ash. Not in this lifetime or the next." I said to her and raised her legs on tiptoes, she pressed her lips on mine a little and pulled away, and gave me a heartwarming smile and I pulled her into me, hugging her closer to myself.

We returned to the pack house and there were Rage, Stealth, Kill, and Ripper standing a few feet away from the entrance of the pack house.

I alighted from the carriage and stretched forth my hand to take my Lady's own in mine.

She placed her hand in mine with a dazzling gleam in her eyes as I lifted her down.

"Thank you, my good man." She said with a teasing smile on her lips.

I raised a brow. "I'm not a coach loves. I believe there are better ways you could tell me thank you." I said to her with a cocky smile on my face.

"Like ' thank you, my Lord?" She asked raising a brow.

I chuckled and drew her closer to me. "Like this," I said and entangled my lips with hers kissing her deeply in front of my comrades. I knew a lot would be going on in their minds.

I pulled away from her lips breathlessly. "Then you can say thank you," I said to her.

She smiled as she placed a hand on my face.

"Ahem." I heard them cough and I turned around to see them all with suspicious smiles on their faces.

"Welcome back Lord Lucifer and Lady Ashlyn." They said with a bow.

"Isn't this a lovely welcome?" Ashlyn asked with a smile.

"Indeed it is love. Indeed it is." I said and we both laughed.

They gave way to let us in. "Enjoyed your little era of peace?" Kill asked.

"Enjoyed is an understatement, my dear friend. I loved it." I said to him with a grin.

"The glow tells it all." Rage said and they all winked at each other.

With Ashlyn's arm entwined in mine, we walked into the pack with Kill and the rest behind us.

The instant we got in, I saw a few members alongside Roselia, Sia, Juliette, and Meredith. My eyes fell on my three mistresses as I remembered what Roselia had told me. These trios were planning to murder my beloved. Not under my watch or my roof. Not if I have anything to do with it.

"Alpha," Roselia called with a smile and curtsied and so did the rest of the members in the house.

"Rise, Roselia," I said to her with a smile and went towards her and kissed her cheeks which surprised her. She has always been of help to me in her little way without me realizing it.

"I'm happy to see this new change alpha." She said with a smile.

"And it has come to stay, all thanks to the future Lady of the Nightwing pack," I said gesturing to Ashlyn with my hand out for hers and she held mine with a pleasant smile on her face as she walked into my arms and I held her close.

Roselia had a pleased look on her face and so did the pack members except for my three mistresses who stared at me in shock.

"It gives me joy to finally see this day milord, Queen Katrin, and Lord Charles would be pleased as they rest in the abode of our ancestors." She said.

I nodded. They indeed will. After all, their stubborn and arrogant son has finally accepted love in his black heart and has gotten the redemption they both wanted.

"Everyone rise, merry. It's a free day for everyone today!" I said to them.

They screamed in happiness. "Helldog!" They began to chant. I grinned. Hell dog was becoming a different person under the influence of the woman beside me. I was under the control of everything. Now I would only be modest in my cruelty and brutality to whosoever deserves it. And extreme heartlessness to whom is undeserving of my kindness.

But to the woman beside me, the big bad wolf would only be a gentle and lovestruck puppy.

I dismissed my pack members and Sia and her group of deviousness turned to leave.

"Stop right there," I ordered and they stopped with confusion in their eyes wondering what they'd done.

"Sia," I called in a very calm way that still sent fear in her.

"Lucifer," she said and I raised a brow. I did not need to say a word. She got the message. "Lord Lucifer." She said correcting herself and lowering her gaze.

"Remember when you asked me what will become of you all if something was going on between me and Ashlyn?" I asked her and she nodded.

"Very well then," I said straightening up as Ashlyn pulled away from me and I saw her staring at me in wonder at what I was doing.

I blinked at her passing a message for her to trust me.

I turned back to Sia and the rest of them. "I do know you all are in cohorts to murder Ashlyn and I know one of you pushed her into the river," I said Sia stared at me in horror and Ashlyn gasped.

"You hell of a bitch." Ashlyn said advancing towards her and I held her back shaking my head as I chuckled.

"Do not react love. Anger does not suit your pretty face. Let me handle this." I said to her.

"Just let me rip her fucking face." She said to me seething in rage.

"Language woman, language," I said to her and she refrained from frowning at me.

I turned back to my mistress. "Am I right or wrong?" I asked them.

They struggled to find words to deny. "Am I?!" I asked running out of patience.

"No-no, no-no." They said in fear and agitation.

I walked towards them. "I am not in the mood for bloodshed you should count today your lucky day," I said and I could see the huge relief washing through them. "But," I said and that impacted fear again in them. "I do not want you all in my house anymore neither on my land or territory," I said.

They gasped. "But, but," Sia stuttered.

"There are no buts here. You all should be grateful I have not ordered Vino to set up the gallons to hang your brainless heads on." I said to them.

They fell to their feet. "Please forgive us alpha. Please." They begged.

"Sia pushed me to join her against Ashlyn," Meredith said turning against Sia.

"Ashlyn?" I asked raising a brow.

"Lady Ashlyn." She corrected herself.

Ashlyn rolled her eyes. "No one forced you to do anything against your will. You've been in it since the very day I got here." She said.

"Please forgive us, Lady Ashlyn, please forgive us," Juliette said as they all placed their head on the floor.

"Enough of this," I said and they lifted their faces. "Your pleadings make no difference to me. I've not just made this decision because of that, I've made this decision because I cannot be sleeping with every woman who opens her legs for me. I'm done with that. That game is over." I said and they had horrified expressions on their faces. Ashlyn held my hand and placed her head on my shoulder.

"I belong to one woman now," I said, and meant it.

Ashlyn's POV

"I belong to one woman now."

When he said that, my heart swelled with pride. He belonged to me. He was mine and I was his.

"Kill." He called.

"Right here, my Lord." Kill said walking to his side.

"Ensure they leave this territory before nightfall." He said.

"As you please." Kill said and walked towards them. "You heard the Laird. Start packing." He barked at them.

Lucifer turned away from them and with hands still holding each other we walked away from them and he took me to his room.

"This also belongs to you now." He said smiling as we got in. "I'll have the help move in your belongings immediately." He said holding me in his arms.

I entwined my arms around his neck. "Someone does not want to pat his legs on a foot mat anymore before getting what he wants," I said smiling.

"I believe I simply need to roll over to get what I want." He said with a devilish twinkle on his face.

I giggled and he placed a kiss on my lips. "Our wedding is in a week." He said on my lips and I beamed in joy. How crazy that my fate had suddenly changed. No longer a mistress. No longer a ravaging vampire but I still drink blood as it has become a necessity for me. But not to the point of leaving my victims lifeless. Lucifer had helped me keep that under control.

My happiness was finally here and nothing could take it away from me.

*** a Few days later***

It was just two days left for us to take the journey together into a blissful marriage and Lucifer and I was doing the necessary things that needed to be done while Roselia was extremely happy to be in charge of the planning.

I stood in front of the mirror as I pinned the second stud earrings on my ear and smoothened imaginary wrinkles from the front of my flowery dress. Lucifer had my whole wardrobe changed and many of the outfits consisted of lingeries that he took pleasure in ripping off at night. I chuckled as vivid images flashed through my mind. The rest of the dresses were mostly clinging around my body and exposing my wide hips.

My very thought walked into the room and before I could say anything, he had his arms wrapped around me. "Hell, finna rip this fucking dress off your body." He said huskily in my ears.

I chuckled and turned around and he had me sitting halfway on the vanity table. I wrapped my arms around his neck and grinned and in an instant, he crushed his lips on mine, probing his tongue into mine and I found myself probing into his too. I pulled away and chuckled. "We need to get downstairs for your announcement," I said to him.

"I do not mind postponing my speech till tomorrow. I just want to get down on you." He said to me and I wet my lips at the thought of him taking me here and now. "Do not do that, you turn me on without even knowing it." He said.

"Do what?" I asked wetting my lips again and blinking sheepishly.

"I'm dead serious, Ash, I'll take you here and now, if you do that again." He said and I backed off.

"Alright, alright," I said getting off the table. "Shall we?" I asked him.

He placed his lips on mine again and groaned. "I'm against this but I have no choice." He said and I laughed as he held my hand. He had an announcement to make about the prisoners in the dungeon. I had discussed it with him and he had claimed I was infecting him with too much better but he had accepted to do it on the condition that only the people who were truly remorseful of their actions would be set free.

We walked out of the room, down the stairs, and out of the house. Every pack member was standing outside and the prisoners standing on the other side. Everywhere was crowded.

"Today is an auspicious day," Lucifer began looking from his pack members to the prisoners. "I believe to mark the beginning of good things. My Lady, Ashlyn, has brought to my notice a few good deeds the prisoners have done and therefore deserve freedom." He said and I saw Catriona smiling in happiness as she held her brother.

"A decade ago, I made it clear that only when the prisoners are remorseful of their actions would they be freed. Now I've come to ask one question to them all." He said and I heaved as I sensed a bit of discomfort on the faces of a few of his pack members.

"Will you all become rebels again and turn against the sovereignty of the Nightwing?" He asked and all the prisoners fell flat on their faces.

"Only lord Lucifer Saunron and all of his offsprings shall continue to be the supreme rulers of all Lycans and werewolves. No more insubordination towards the reign of the Helldog." They all said.

"Very well then," Lucifer said and paused. "You're all free to return to your territories," he said and there was an uproar of jubilation as they jumped in joy. "Whatever you need to begin a new life, the Nightwing shall provide." He said and it excited them the more.

Has he finished his announcement and dismissed everyone, I turned to him as they left one after the other.

"You did the right thing," I said to him and he smiled. We turned to walk back into the house when we heard gasps. We both turned around and Lucifer immediately went cold at the figure approaching. She was a woman. An attractive woman with raven black hair. I turned to look at Lucifer who had the expression of someone who had seen a ghost.

"Celine?" He said in a trembling voice. I never knew my happiness was about to be snatched away from me.
