Chap 57: Trapped in Love or Obsession - Part4
After office hours, Dylan was waiting for Aiden in his car. He was eager to question Aiden, but there was no sign of him. Feeling frustrated, he dialed Aiden's number, and finally, he picked up.
" H-Hello?" Aiden whispered. Right now, he was shaking in fear, thinking about Dylan's reaction.
" Why are you still not here? You know I hate waiting."
" A-Actually I..."
" What is it?" Dylan said impatiently.
" I-I am going for t-team d-dinner."
" What team dinner?" Dylan's anger was rising again.
" I-I am s-sorry..." Aiden said hurriedly. " I-I forgot to tell you about it."
" To hell with your team dinner!!" Dylan spat. " I want you here with me in the next 10 minutes."
Before Aiden could say anything, Kurt said, " Hey, Buddy, you are still on your phone? We have reached the bar."
" I-I h-have to go h-home," Aiden said pleadingly. Dylan was angry, and Aiden couldn't risk angering him more.
" Who is it? Is it a call from your home? I will talk to them." Before Aiden could stop him, Kurt snatched Aiden's phone and said, " I am Kurt, Aiden's friend. We are out for dinner, and he will be late, so please don't wait for him." Kurt then casually ended the call, gave the phone back to Aiden, and smiled, " See, that was so easy."
Dylan was so enraged that he threw his phone out of the car window, breaking it into pieces. He wished he could punch that guy Kurt right now. How dare he take Aiden's phone? And why was Aiden defying him at every turn? How did he have the guts to do so? Was Dylan too lenient on him? While gritting his teeth, Dylan thought of calling Aiden again but realized he had thrown his phone. He immediately got down from the car and ran toward his phone, which was shattered into pieces.
" F**k!!" Dylan cursed, thinking about how he could contact Aiden again as he didn't know his number by heart. He rushed back to his office to take his secretary's help, but even she had left. He slumped on his chair, annoyed at himself. He decided never to break his phone again and also made a mental note to memorize Aiden's number.
Dylan then went to Aiden's cubicle to check whether any employee could tell him where the team had gone for dinner. It was already past 7 P.M., and the office was deserted as most of the employees had left, and unfortunately for Dylan, none of Aiden's team members were present. Feeling exhausted, he returned to his office.
Dylan was sitting alone in his office, lost in thoughts. After Aiden moved in with him, Dylan would go home soon, but now that Aiden wasn't there, he didn't feel the need to go home. He thought about his day, which was going from bad to worse. Why was everything so messed up in his life?
Things were going out of his control, and nothing seemed to work as per his wishes. Surely he was doing something wrong.
He thought about Natalie's accusations and wondered why did she doubt him? Had she seen him with Aiden at the stadium or the restaurant? Even if she did, it's too far-fetched to assume two men watching baseball are having an affair. He even made it a point not to be too touchy with Aiden in public places. Then does she think he loves some other girl? That would be a better option. Anyways it was easy to convince Natalie with a few sweet words, but first, he had to deal with Aiden.
What should he do? Right now, he wished he could lock him up. But that's too troublesome. First and foremost, it's against the law. If he were to be caught locking someone up, let alone a man, his reputation would be destroyed.
Dylan had tried forcing Aiden, but though Aiden was still scared of him, his fear was not as profound as it was in his teenage days. Also, he had promised Aiden not to hit him again, so he must at least try to do that.
Dylan had even tried to coax him with his charms and love, but Aiden didn't seem to give an inch. Was Dylan being too impatient? It was hardly a week since he proposed to Aiden, so probably he should try harder.
For a while, Dylan was racking his brains, thinking of what he should do further. Suddenly he realized something, so he got up and walked toward his car.
Meanwhile, as Aiden dined with his teammates, he could barely concentrate on what he was doing. He felt restless thinking about Dylan's reaction after going back home. After the debacle on the call, he was expecting Dylan would surely call back, but he never did. Now Aiden was confused whether he should be happy or worried. This uncertainty was even more troubling.
Above all, the client who organized the dinner was Ms. Laura Straus, whom he had met previously in Dylan's office. She was sitting beside Aiden and seemed to give him a lot of attention. She asked him whether he had a girlfriend and what type of girl he liked. Aiden couldn't understand why she was so interested in him and his personal life and never responded to her questions. Although he felt uncomfortable and avoided looking at her, she didn't seem fazed by his behavior; rather, she got even closer and asked for his number. When Aiden hesitated, she literally snatched his phone and dialed her number so that she could save it. Aiden was appalled by her bold behavior but didn't dare to call her out for it. Ms. Straus asked him a few questions about his relationship preferences, but thankfully his boss intervened, trying to garner Ms. Straus's attention toward himself.
Finally, after a few hours, the torturous dinner concluded. Aiden was in fear again. He didn't want to go from one nightmare to another, but what choice did he have?
Aiden didn't have a car, so Kurt offered to drop him home. Aiden was about to refuse as he didn't want anyone to know he stayed with the CEO, but then he realized nobody knew where Dylan lived as he never brought anyone home. Moreover, he had told Dylan he was on a team dinner, and it was preferable to go back with a teammate so he won't doubt him. Before Aiden could accept Kurt's invitation, they were interrupted by Ms. Straus, who suddenly pulled Aiden toward herself, holding his arm. " I will drop him home." Ms. Straus said sternly.
" I-It's fine, Ms. Straus. You don't have to trouble yourself," Aiden whispered.
" I insist," Ms. Straus said with finality, and before anybody could argue further, she pushed Aiden towards the car's back seat. Her driver was ready, so he drove off as soon as she got in.
" So, where do you stay?" Ms. Straus asked Aiden. She was waiting for an opportunity to be alone with Aiden.
Aiden scooted back on his seat until his back hit the window.
" I want your address so the driver would feed it on the GPS."
Aiden reluctantly blurted out the address.
" That's a posh location," Ms. Straus said, surprised. " How can you afford it?"
" I-It's not mine. I stay with a relative temporarily."
"Are you sure?" Ms. Straus asked.
" W-What do you mean?"
" A handsome guy like you would indeed have someone taking care of you," Ms. Straus said seductively, placing her hands on Aiden's thigh.
" P-Please, Ms. Straus. You are getting too close."
" Do you think like that?" Ms. Straus smirked. " You must be right then." She said and tightened her hold, piercing her nails on Aiden's thigh.
" S-Stop the car," Aiden said hurriedly. " I will go home from here."
" You are not so naive, so I will be frank with you. I want you to be my submissive."
" Excuse me?" Aiden said, confused. What the hell did she mean by submissive?
Seeing Aiden's perplexed state, Ms. Straus huffed. " Oh, dear!! So you don't know anything about this lifestyle?"
" I-I don't understand what you are getting on?"
" No problem," Ms. Straus chirped. " I can teach you. It's always fun to teach, especially someone so attractive."
" T-Teach what?" Aiden still didn't understand. Then he observed the familiar surroundings and heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn't interested in her response and just wanted to get out of the car.
" We have arrived, mam," the driver said, stopping in front of Aiden's building.
Aiden suddenly opened the door and got out of the car. " T-Thank you, Mam," he said in a hurry.
" Mam," Ms. Straus said with a smile. " It's good to hear you call me Mam instead of Ms. Straus."
" Huh??" Aiden couldn't understand this woman. Not willing to spend a minute more with her, he said, " Good night."
Aiden turned to leave when Ms. Straus called for him again. " I will see you soon."
Aiden nodded and scurried towards the elevator while Ms. Straus laughed loudly, seeing his discomfort. " You are too cute," she said and asked her driver to drive.
Dylan was drinking at home, staring at the camera feed of the building's entrance, and waiting for Aiden. When he saw Aiden get down from the car, he watched closely to see who had dropped him. Once he saw Ms. Straus, he recalled their conversation wherein she expressed interest in Aiden. Clenching his fist in anger, he waited for Aiden to return.
As Aiden got closer to the penthouse, his heart was beating fast. His fingers trembled in fear when he rang the doorbell.
The door was immediately opened by Dylan, who greeted him with a smile. " How was the dinner? Did you have a good time?"
Aiden was shocked at Dylan's reaction. He was half expecting a slap on the face, not this friendly attitude.
Seeing Aiden's stunned face, Dylan smirked at himself. He invited Aiden inside and asked, " Why are you not answering? Did you not enjoy with your teammates?"
" I-It was alright," Aiden said, coming out of his shock. He wondered why Dylan was so calm now when he sounded so angry on the call.
" Was the dinner organized by your team?" Dylan asked.
" No, a client."
" Which client?"
" Ms. Straus."
" Ms. Straus..." Dylan gritted his teeth but then said in a calm voice, " She's troublesome. Did she bother you?"
" She's strange," Aiden replied truthfully. He was still trying to process Dylan's changed attitude.
" Why do you say that?"
" I-I didn't really understand what she was trying to say."
" What did she say?"
" S-Something about being her submissive. Is it related to work?" Now that Dylan wasn't angry, Aiden felt a little relaxed.
Listening to Aiden's words, Dylan felt a sudden burst of rage within him.
