Chapter 903 - Who Exactly Was That Person Who Kept Trying To Assassinate Her?

Xia Anlan had always maintained an elegant appearance. He had always been very good at hiding his true emotions, thanks to holding a high position for countless years. That short period of time was the first time after so many years that he had lost control of his own emotions.

He always kept a low profile when it came to his brilliance. His handsome face was still prominent despite his age. He had already reverted back to his calm, tranquil appearance and no longer revealed any facial expressions, yet those facing him felt intimidated in his presence.

Little Zhao’s face turned pale and both of his legs were shivering. “I…apologize sir, I’m sorry… I thought it was just two unimportant photos. I’m so sorry…”

“You think… You think…” Xia Anlan mumbled. Little Zhao’s self-assumptions had caused the lady’s discovery to be delayed by several days. The blunder nearly caused his long-anticipated family reunion to be ruined.

Xia Anlan sat down and continued looking at Yan Qingsi’s photo and said, “Bring her over to me immediately and send me all her information.”

Little Zhao thought that Xia Anlan was no longer furious and was relieved. He quickly replied, “Yes!”

However, Xia Anlan continued and said, “Once you have completed your task, you can report to the Foreign Affairs Department.”

Little Zhao’s face immediately turned pale again.

As a city located in the south, Su City often experienced rain during August, in the evenings. Fortunately, most of the time it was only a small drizzle.

Ji Mianmian held an umbrella for Yan Qingsi while the director was speaking with her.

Director said, “Today’s scene will require you to fall into the water, can you swim?”

Yan Qingsi replied, “Yes.”

“That’s good. You will need to pretend to struggle to keep afloat for a while when you are in the waters. Once I shout ‘Submerge!’ you should act as though your weak constitution could no longer support you and start drowning. I will be arranging for the lifeguards to be on standby. Is that ok?”

Yan Qingsi nodded her head. “No problem.”

The whole filming process was not difficult at all, only this water scene poses some difficulty. Fortunately, this season’s temperature was not too low, otherwise, this whole experience would have been rather miserable.

Ji Mianmian was applying makeup on Yan Qingsi. “Keep up the good work Big Sis, there is little sunlight today due to the cloudy weather. I will put on heavier waterproof makeup for you. After the shoot, we can go for dinner. Yesterday, I ate at a restaurant that served very delicious food. I will bring you there later.”

Yan Qingsi smiled and replied, “Okay.”

By the time her makeup was done, all the props and actors were ready for filming. The director said, “Qingsi, let’s try to get this all in one take.”

Yan Qingsi nodded at the director.

The director shouted action. An actress beside the lake who was supposed to push Yan Qingsi into the water said, “I’m going to push you.”

Yan Qingsi responded, “Okay.”

The actor immediately entered the scene with a ferocious expression on his face and yelled angrily, “Go to hell!”

The actress’s push caused Yan Qingsi to fall backward into the lake.

While she was falling into the lake, Yan Qingsi shivered as she did not expect the water to be so cold. She was struggling to stay afloat, pretending to be unable to swim whilst shouting for help.

After a few seconds, the director shouted ‘Submerge!’. Yan Qingsi breathed a sigh of relief as the scene was about to come to an end. She was prepared to get under the waters when suddenly, she felt her right leg sinking faster as if something was pulling her deeper into the lake.

Yan Qingsi was terrified. She immediately started to struggle to free her leg. The lighting around the area was already rather dark from the cloudy evening. The lighting under the water was even worse. Yan Qingsi could only notice a dark shadow holding onto her leg.

The dark shadow was pulling her deeper into the lake.

Yan Qingsi started panicking, did she encountered yet another assassination attempt? She had been holding her breath for a while now and would not be able to last much longer. She needed to quickly break free or she would die here.

Yan Qingsi’s heart welled-up with hatred wondering who exactly was that person, who kept trying to assassinate her?
