In 1996, Tade and Shade had their first real fight ever since they were born.
"Are you sleeping with her!?" Shade demanded from Tade, shaking with anger.
"Will you please keep your voice down! The kids might hear you."
"Answer my question Omotade! Are you sleeping with your secretary!?"
Yes!... Yes, I am! He admitted calmly to her. But there was a hint of regret in his voice. Regret of the illicit affair with his secretary that his wife herself had pushed him into.

Tade was pained by her action.
"Why must you always react that way whenever I touch you!?" He asked, turning her to face him. "We could still make us work Shade, please!" He pleaded desperately. "All you just need to do is to stop seeing me as a brother! Look at me like the husband which I am to you! Can you at least try!? Please!."
Shade suddenly burst out crying.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry that I couldn't be a proper wife to you... Honestly, I've tried, believe me, Tade... You wouldn't understand how hard I've tried... But it just doesn't work out for me... I can't just see you that way. I love us the way we are...
I don't even think I can be a proper wife to any man anymore. I just want to live the rest of my life, by your's and our kids' sides. You boys are my world." She explained, now crying softly.
"Live the rest of your life... What do you mean by that!? What are you talking about!?" He asked, and it took her some time to answer him.
"I think I'm sick Tade." She said in almost a whisper
"You think you're sick? What do you mean by that?"
"There's something painful growing down there..." She pointed reluctantly towards her thigh.
"Something painful growing on your thigh?" He asked in confusion, not grasping what she was saying.
"No!... Not my thigh... My private area." She whispered shyly
"Let me see," Tade demanded, immediately moving towards her after hearing what she said.
"I'm not going to let you see anything, are you crazy!?"
"No!... Are you!?" He angrily asked her. "I'll check what is growing on your vaginal even if I have to tie you down with rope."
"Hoodlum! How can you just open your mouth and say it like that without restraint?" She glared at him with her face that was still wet with tears.

"Shut up! Just shut it! I do not wish to listen to anything from you again!"
Shade immediately stop talking. She found it unbelievable that Tade just shouted at her. Hs has never talk to her in such manner before. She watched him paced the length and breadth of their bedroom before he finally asked.
"What did the doctor say?" He asked when he became calm but his face immediately went back to being angry when he saw the look on her face.
"You didn't seek any medical advice did you!?" He asked unbelievably
"I-I... I was scared of what I might find and I've been fasting and praying over it and..."
"This girl!..." Tade was shocked. You've just been fasting and praying!?..." He said, aghast. "I'm so disappointed in you right now! I can't even look at you, y-you foolish woman! He angrily shouted. We'll go to the government hospital early tomorrow morning." He said and stormed out of their apartment in anger.
