Nicholas POV
I remember the last person I shot with these babies, it was a good memory.... their only fault is that it was associated with Anika.

"Shoot him babe before the cops get here." Anika hurriedly said
"Calm down baby, you know that the cops can't arrest us, we work for the government."
"Nicholas, you know that killing and working for your father as a spy or an assassin is not working for the government so don't give me that bullshit now. "
"Alright Alright jezz, pregnancy hormones are driving her nuts again. " I mumbled hoping she can't hear me "alright my dude, this is goodbye.'' I confessed before I shot him in the head.
"Come on babe let's go home."
"No you go first, I need to speak with my father in the office. "
"Oh can l come too. " she said with happiness in her eyes. Ever since Anika met my father, she has always adored him which annoys me so much....... But I guess for her I could always tolerate him.
After 4 good years in that underground boys academy, Me and Anika have graduated from school mate to friends and friends to lovers and I am proud to say that we have formed a family with our friends well mostly Anika made friends with them first before me, I just stood by the sidelines supporting her all the way.
And it was a wise decision because Bennett, Peter, Nalee,Antonio, Jimmy and John are literally the best friends that anyone can ever ask for and it is all thanks to Anika for bringing us together and making us a family and now we are adding a child to this wonderful family.
"I love you baby, you know that right?" I said out of nowhere hugging her.
"I do and I love you too." she said as she hugged me back.
"Good now, come on, let's go talk to my father."
That day I realized just how much I love her and was willing to do anything for her and my son.
If only I knew better.
If only I knew what the world had in store for me maybe I could have escaped it.
*** Present time ***
I packed my bags and was already out of my house leaving for the airport.
14 hours later, I arrived at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah hotel where Mr Victor was staying.
Damn.....I didn't even ask Benny for their room number. I thought about taking out my phone to call him.
"What's up Niko?" he sounded sleepy, I guess I woke him due to the time difference here in Dubai
"Hey, sorry I disturbed your sleep but I don't know the room Mr Victor is staying in. "
"Oh yeah, he is staying at the penthouse house of the hotel but the thing is you can't just go in there."
I scrunched up my face in confusion, "huh.... What does Benny mean? "
"What do you think I mean Niko?...He is the Secretary of defense, do you really think that they would just let you see him right off the bat?"
"Ummm.... I guess you are right. "
"I know duhhh." he said and I just knew that he was rolling his eyes.
"You're rolling your eyes, aren't you?"
"Obviously but that's by the way.... I just sent a message to Mr Victor telling him that I am sending a friend to him right now and with a little persuasion he agreed to see you." he said, "just approach the front desk and tell them to show you the way to the lounge and also tell them to inform Mr Victor that you await his presence in the lounge of course."
And that is exactly what I did, "come follow me sir." the receptionist said "sir, this is the lounge, who do you like to drink anything with?"
"A glass of bourbon whiskey please and can you please inform Mr Duncan about my arrival. "
"Right away sir and Mr Duncan is already on his way down."
"Ok thanks. "
Few minutes later, A figure is standing before me, "Nicholas Ivanov, am I right?" a tall and lean man said I thought as I looked up, I was still a few inches taller than him.
I stood up to greet him, I need to be on my best behavior, "hello Mr Secretary. "
"Hello Mr Ivanov." he said eying up, "let's sit, I am assuming this conversation is a serious one seeing as you tracked me especially during my vacation and also seeing as you got me in a suit. " he said sitting.
"Yes, yes it is." I said, placing the contract folder on the table and looking straight at him.
"What is this?"
"Well this folder here is a contract between you and me."
"Wait contract..... Is Ivanov's Arms by any chance your company?"
"Yes, it is." I warily, I mean if he knows about the company then Nate must have done something right..... Or wrong as things are now.
"Then I am sorry, I am not willing to conduct any form of business with you." he said, already standing to leave.
What the fuck!, what the hell is happening, "wait! What exactly do you mean by that?"
Now I was practically sweating bullets, one minute everything was going smooth and the next it was wanting to blow up in my face.
"What I mean is that you are the incompetent CEO spending company funds right?" he says.
"What! " I barked "spending company funds.....I would never do that, I struggled to bring this company to where it is now after everyone deserted me, I wouldn't destroy my own sweat and blood in that company."
"Really?" he says stoically
"Yeah, I would never do that."
"Ok then, I trust you...... So I am guessing O'dara was lying."
I knew that slimy bastard was behind the constant refusal and rejection, "Mr Victor, please sit, I trust you will want to know more about this."
"You're right, go on."
And I did tell him everything, everything fucking thing that is happening and I hoped that it will help me in convincing he to agree to help me besides the contract will benefit us in many ways.
"One quick question.... before you leave. " he says "what is your father's name? "
My brows were up at this point, "Marcus Rain. " I answered warily.
"Marcus Rain ummm..... Sounds familiar don't you think so."
"Yeah.... 'Cus he is my father you know." I trailed off.
"Oh yeah sorry anyways I will take the contract and go through it, see what I can do and then get back to you." He says "how does that sound?"
"Good for me, I will be around just in case." I said standing up and shaking his hand.
"Well good, that's a great idea.... Goodbye Nicholas. "
"Goodbye Mr Victor."
Victor's POV
After Ravi told me about Nicholas Ivanov and to get more information on him, I immediately started my search but what I didn't expect was for him to fall into my arms just like that.
Nicholas is a fine young man, a successful one at that.... Uhmmm maybe I can consider his offer well mostly to get him on my side.
I am sure I can get other secretaries to agree on it besides from what I have read from the contract, it will benefit the two sides tremendously.
"Hey wifey, I'm done with the meeting." I said as I entered our suit
"Well that was fast?" she said come to hug me.
"Yeah."
"So what was it about?"
"Nothing much, just some business deals."
"Oh ok." she said going back to what she was doing before I came in.
I don't know if it's all in my head but Sonia has been acting weird lately, maybe she is tired of the long vacation.
"Hey honey I will be busy for a little while, just need to make a quick call to Ravi ok."
"Ok" she said, waving me off.
Weird, I thought about going to a small study.
"Hey dad, what's up?"
"What do you mean?" I said looking up, there is nothing on the ceiling except for the lights...why the hell would he ask about that.
"Dad no... Ugh, it's just a term of greetings."
"Oh ok so what's up?"
"Dad... Just forget it."
This young generation are always making up weird words, "ok anyways you remember Nicholas Ivanov, the step brother to Alex or is it Adrian"
"Yeah Yeah what about him" he asked, "Have you found anything on him."
"Well I started doing the research on him before Bennett called to inform me about a meeting that is of great importance."
"What does that mean?"
"That's what I thought but then he said Nicholas Ivanov wants to have a very important meeting with me. "
"Wait, are you the same as Nicholas? "
"The very one Ravi."
"Wow this is great, so what does he want from you?"
"He wants a deal between the both of us." I said as I told him exactly what Nicholas told me.
"Woah that is just wicked if you ask me."
"That's right son,the world is an unfair place. "
"So are you going to agree to his will?"
"Maybe I am still thinking about it. I mean this could actually help the both of us in many ways besides we need him on our side." I said
"I am sure he is already on our side, dad . I mean who wouldn't be after what Marcus did to his mother."
"I did think of that but how sure are we that he knows about his own father killing his mother?" I asked.
"Yeah you are right dad and that is why we need more information about him....something that will surely get him on our side."
"Yes that's right and I will most definitely get right on that."
