Getting Away
He’s chained to the wall on the cold and damp concrete floor. There’s no windows in this place, no fresh air. It smells of feces, urine, and blood. He’s been chained here for almost two weeks now. Somehow, they found out that he had developed a close friendship with one of them, of course he’d assume that his father told, how else would they know.
Anger, so much anger and so much hate is what kept him hanging on the whole time he’s been down there. He’s been whipped with a whip that has barbed wire wrapped around it, daily. The chains holding him up have small needles poking out that push passionflower through his system and a spiked metal collar around his neck holding his head stiff in a very uncomfortable position.
They’d ask a question about one of them and his response would be either a laugh or to tell them to go to hell. Neither the response that these people wanted. On the days that he would laugh they would add a heretics fork to his punishment.
They would inject him with something via a syringe twice a day, every day, never missing. They didn’t care if he ate or not. That’s not their concern, he must be made to suffer for his punishment of disobeying. As long as he survives to be able to do what they want then that’s all they care about.
Cole walks into the room. Sadistic bastard. No one should get as much pleasure as he does from torturing one of his children. It just makes the hate and anger running through Erik all that much worse. They wouldn’t even be using him as their “experiment project 0”, as they’ve called it. If only Joseph hadn’t decided to break every rule that the family has and marry Taylor. Erik couldn’t wish this on anyone else though, he’s tough and no matter how many times they break him mentally and physically he’ll always bounce back. Joseph would have done broke, there’s no way he’d be able to handle everything that Erik has, there’s just no way.
“You know son, all this could be avoided if you’d just do what they ask instead of being so fucking stubborn about those fucking whores. They’re going to get what’s coming to them one way or another.” Cole states.
Erik takes one look at his father and can taste the bile coming up from all the disdain he holds inside toward this man. All he can manage to barely croak out is to tell Cole to go fuck himself. Those words resulted in more punches to the face and the gut. Erik responds by spitting blood on his father, angering him more. Cole grabs the syringe setting on the metal tray close to the wall on the opposite end of the room and jams it into his son’s neck sending sharp, burning, pins and needles pain all throughout his body, then Erik loses consciousness.
The last thing he heard is that he will eventually cave. He will eventually do as they ask. He will take the life of his best friend and the person he loves along with his brother and new sister-in-law. Erik will be the ultimate weapon that the Wyatt family has.
Amillia is panicking shaking Erik trying to get him to wake up. He’s shaking, sweating, and has been muttering in his sleep. Both of their hearts are racing, his from his nightmare and hers out of fear of what’s happening to him.
“Erik, wake up, please,” she begs once again. She’s been trying to wake him for a good five minutes and yet nothing is happening. It’s as if he’s stuck in the horrible dream world with no way out.
Then he gasps and sets straight up in bed. He’s breathing is shaky and hard. He looks around the room. He’s in his room, he’s at home, he’s not there, he’s not in that god forsaken dungeon anymore. Then he looks at Amillia who has fear and worry written all over her face. Erik grabs her and hugs her tight. It takes her a moment to realize he’s actually awake and she hugs him back.
“You said you’re okay,” is the only statement she can make.
He lets out a breath, calming himself down. “I am now,” he responds.
“Erik, what the hell is going on?” Amillia asks him. She just wants to know the truth and whether or not she should be worried about his well-being. He’s never had a nightmare before, that’s always been Melody.
He just shakes his head, “It’s nothing to worry about baby girl, we can go back to sleep.”
“Um, no, you’re sweaty and you were shaking and screaming in your sleep Erik, you can’t tell me that it’s nothing. I may be young but I’m nowhere near dumb.” Then she adds, “Plus you need a shower now.”
Erik just looks at her a moment with a smirk on his face. He doesn’t want to think about the nightmare, he doesn’t want to remember, not that he could remember everything that happened if he tried. For some reason he can’t remember anything bad about training, or the dungeons, unless the memory comes back to haunt him in his sleep. So much had happened to him in the two years he had been away there’s no way he would ever be able to explain to her the depths of what had been done to him. So, instead of talking, he just kisses her.
This action takes her by surprise. They’ve never kissed, or held hands, or done anything other than just sleep in the same bed together, and that’s only been recently. Actually, neither of them have ever kissed another person and Erik isn’t sure why he’s doing it now, but he knows that he wants too, and it calms his nerves and makes him forget about everything that had been done to him the last two years.
That one kiss held so much passion and so many emotions, neither of them wanted it to break. It’s the first special and intimate thing that the two of them have shared. They allowed themselves to get lost in their passion.
This is the first time that it happens. The first time that the change in Erik actually shows through. The thing that he has been holding inside, fighting, and keeping to himself. Loosing himself in the passion resulted in him loosing himself completely. His eyes turned dark, very dark, the white and color of his eyes completely gone, except for the iris, his iris had turned blood red.
He's fighting it the best that he can. He can feel his conscious state losing the battle with the subconscious demon that resides inside of him. The last thing that he wants to do is hurt her, but the thing inside of him, that’s all it wants to do. It’d love nothing more than to see her bleed out beneath him on his bed.
Erik grabs Amillia’s hands rougher than intending with the beast coming to surface and holds them above her head. Catching himself before the demon went too far, he slowed it back down, but never stopped. She didn’t want him to stop either. Not once had she actually realize the danger that she had been in.
They lost themselves to each other that night. Amillia couldn’t have been happier while Erik grew more concerned. He had never had to fight with him self before as he had to that night. He didn’t like what the demon inside of him had wanted.
(3rd Person – Present)
Amillia, Jayven, Natalia, and Khalil all ended up back at Amillia’s house the instant that they vanished from the gala. No one had expected the tag along, but really, what choice did they have at the time. Amillia would have preferred to bring her sister alone, but this is better than being caught by Cole. There’s no way in hell that she would ever give that sadistic bastard anything that he wants.
“Where are we?” Natalia asks.
“No time now, we’ve gotta go.” Amillia states grabbing one of the biggest handbags that she owns and tossing a bunch of vials full of different objects and books into it as if nothing else matters. The bag is enchanted so that it holds more than what it looks as if it should, so while she’s loading a great majority of everything in her house into it, the others are looking at her in amazement as to how it all fits in the bag.
“What the hell just happened? What was that?” Jayven asked, just coming off of the shock of being teleported from one place to another. Again, Amillia repeats herself.
If only they had the time for her to explain everything then they would understand why they don’t have the time. Not right now. She knows for a fact that Cole can trace transportations such as the one that she just pulled. She knew when she done it that they wouldn’t have long, and he’d figure out where she lives now and come for them. There’s no way he’s not already on his way. She had to get them out of there the quickest way she knows how too though, better than being dead.
Natalia is hugged up to Khalil, almost hidden behind him. Fear is seeping off of her. Khalil looks ready to defend her with his life. Daniel as just looking at Jayven, shocked at the fact that four people just appeared in the middle of the house out of nowhere. Jackson looks concerned.
“Amillia?” Jackson asks, hopefully she’ll say something to him, after all he is the one here that knows the most considering the fact who he is.
“Not now, we have to go!” She states again. “Cole can trace us here, and he will, none of us are safe, we need to leave.” Then she pauses going through all the random stuff in her house and looks at the five of them. “I’ll explain it all once we’re safely away from here, I promise.”
The mention of Cole’s name piques Khalil’s interest in the conversation. He had wanted to kill Natalia, and Amillia saved her. Oh, the questions he has swarming in his head are like bees around their hive.
“What does Cole have to do with all this?” He asks for the first time speaking in front of everyone.
Amillia tilts her head and looks at him as if she’s looking through him. She straightens up when her eyes glaze over white as if clouds floated into them. No one says or does anything, they all just stand there and watch her, waiting to see what she’s doing.
“Cole has a lot to do with this. His family are hunters, not just any hunters, they’re direct descendants, or were created by bog rata i bitke. They were taken over by the darkness at some point in time and ever since have been trying to the kill majka bozica created guardians of the worlds and all its creations,” Amillia answers.
Yeah, sure, that’s nowhere near the whole story, but at least it’s something. Amillia figured if she told them something then they would stop looking at her as if she’s insane and start moving because they’re running out of time. She’s losing her patience.
No one moves or says anything. Jayven and Daniel look confused. They’ve been warned that this is beyond anything that they have ever dealt with before and Amillia has commented numerous times she doesn’t understand why they had to be involved because she knew that they were in over their heads. She’s even told them about her family and here they are with the dumbstruck look plastered on their faces.
“Okay, look guys,” Amillia says turning to the Natalia and Khalil first, “You two don’t know me so I do expect skepticism from you two, although I do believe Khalil here knows way more than he’s saying. As for you other three,” she says turning to them, “You all know the deal. Now we left that place about thirty minutes ago, Cole’s probably already tracked the sense left by the transport and is on his way here, and he won’t come alone, not to face me he won’t. We have to get moving before we become surrounded and outnumbered.”
Khalil growled. He fucking growled, is all Amillia thinks and Jackson looks very annoyed at the situation. Unlike the others, Jackson is well aware that everything Amillia says is the truth, it’s part of a curse put on her, she can’t lie. He’s annoyed mostly because this stranger, who doesn’t know anyone here, and who was just saved by Amillia is questioning her. Surely he wouldn’t think that Amillia would save their lives to bring them here and kill them herself.
Of course, Khalil would be skeptical of the situation. His family has been friends with Cole for a long time, they know what he is, who he is, and what his family is, that’s why they get along. He, like the shifter community, are all here to protect the mortals. Amillia’s words make no sense and go against everything that Khalil has ever been taught. There’s also the fact that Khalil grew up in the world of the mythical, he knows better than to just trust anyone, or anything.
“We’re not going anywhere with you until I know the full story and that you’re telling the truth.” Khalil states grasping Natalia by the waste and holding her close to him a little too tight. She can feel his nails digging into her side and it hurts a bit.
Natalia is at a loss and has no idea what is going on. She’s never been more scared in her life, and she grew up alone on the streets in the city. She has seen and been through quite a bit in her life, yet this, this is just complete insanity. Natalia doesn’t believe a word that Amillia is saying and believes this strange woman to be insane because Natalia doesn’t believe in the supernatural and mythology. She never has, she always thought real life was more scary than anything anyone could think up.
Natalia finally speak up for herself. “I’m sorry, you guys must have me mistaken for someone else. I’m not sure that I’m okay actually, there’s no way you all are talking about demons and ghosts and stuff like that, and hunters? What is a hunter? Is that kinda like a ‘slayer’? Like Buffy?”
It takes everything inside of Amillia and Jackson not to burst out laughing. Well, at least Natalia is an innocent, Amillia thinks to herself, and she’s grateful for that thought. Could be much worse, after all their other sister is considered to be the princess of darkness at this moment.
“I’m sorry Natalia, but this isn’t a joke, this is actually happening no matter how hard it is to actually believe.” Amillia states, then turns to Khalil. “I hope that you’re willing to fight to your death to protect my sister because I promise I am, and I won’t hesitate to take anyone out who dares harms her or doesn’t stand on her side. I don’t know what the deal is with your family and Cole, but he’s not your friend, you’re a freaking hybrid mut, he doesn’t like you and I pity your family if they actually believe he does. They’ll reap what they sow soon enough. Cole Wyatt is not someone who can be trusted.”
Too late. They’ve talked their selves out of time. Amillia is well aware of the insult that she just threw at Khalil calling him a hybrid mut, no werewolf likes to be called a mut, even if they are a hybrid. But before he could respond with his anger wolves started jumping into Amillia’s house through all of the windows.
