The First of Many
“Fuck!” Amillia says out loud not actually meaning too. This land is sacred, it’s special, it’s magical, and the last thing that it needs is a bunch of assholes that are power hungry trying to claw their way inside or destroying it once they realize it’s worth. She had hoped that they could get away from this town, this land, this place before Cole found them. So much for that wish.
About fifteen werewolves have broken into the house and are now surrounding the six of them. That’s not counting the ones who are outside. Amillia looks around the room at the other five people who she needs to protect and get out of here. At least Jackson, the brothers, and Khalil should be able to handle a good amount on their own. They’re not close enough for Amillia to grab ahold and transport them all, no, this is going to be a fight. She knew deep down this is just how Cole wants it.
One thing that Cole hadn’t counted on is that fact that two hunters are here, one just returning from the pits of hell, along with the true, blood prince of darkness’s brother. Jackson is one of the biggest secret weapons that they have right now, and hopefully he’s telling the truth about who he is, because if he isn’t this could be their dying day. Especially his because if he isn’t then Amillia will kill him herself. Of course, Amillia can tell how powerful Khalil is, but his strength and power, even as a hybrid has nothing on the mixed blood of Amillia, Natalia, and Jackson, even though Natalia knows nothing of her lineage.
She’s glad that her house has an open floor plan. This could be worse if they had been trapped in closed quarters. At least they do still have room to maneuver and protect themselves. Amillia’s watches and Khalil pushed Natalia behind him, and although he looks like he really doesn’t want to be in this fight, he’s ready to protect her sister.
Cole walks into the room with a look of disgust on his face as he looks at Amillia. The fire burning in her eyes tells everyone just how much hatred she has for this man. Her eyes actually changed to look as if fire is burning inside of them, taking everyone by shock. Amillia is tapping into a side of herself that she had promised that she would never use again.
Khalil is stuck in the middle looking between the two of them. No one notices that Amillia has managed to gain a weapon, a very sharp and shiny pure metal sword with a gold hilt that has a sapphire encrusted into it. It’s shiny and looks to be extremely sharp. It’s a weapon made especially for Amillia and one she has kept hidden very well.
“You’re surrounded Amillia, there’s no point in trying, there’s more outside than what’s busted through these windows,” Cole states.
Amillia narrows her eyes at him. Apparently, this asshole has forgotten who she is and everything she’s willing to do to protect what’s hers. Her family is hers. Amillia will do anything for her family.
“Since when did you start using the pup creatures to do your biding Cole?” She spats while fifteen growls emanate through the room. She has a really bad habit of antagonizing and making situations worse sometimes.
Cole chuckles, “Such a smart mouth as always, Amillia, everything, and everyone, is at my disposal.” Before anything could be said the wolves all attack at once. Five going straight after Amillia.
Khalil pushes Natalia further behind him as three of his own warriors jump towards him with intent to kill. Amillia slashed through all five attacking her as more enter into the house. She scans the room, everyone is well off holding their own, well except the hunters, they are struggling a bit, but they are far more talented in this world than what Amillia has given them credit for.
Then her eyes spot Khalil, sweating and a look of pain on his face, yet he still takes out the wolves coming toward him one by one, each kill looking more painful for him to deal out than the last. Then it hits Amillia about as hard as the shrill laugh from Cole, it feels as if a bucket of ice-cold water has been thrown on top of her.
Cole knew what he was doing, he knew good and well that Khalil would be here and that he’s very protective over Natalia. This is a test to see how protective he is. Cole made Khalil’s own pack attack them without even blinking an eye, enjoying the show. He wants Khalil to suffer because he refused to give Natalia to Cole earlier.
It doesn’t take a second for all of this to register, even to Jackson, and Amillia turned around and started slicing through wolves again, all while praying for Khalil and the lost. Whichever goddess/god is watching over them at this moment, she prays that Khalil’s pain will be eased once this is all over. He is sacrificing everything right now for a cause he’s not even aware of, out of loyalty to Natalia. Right now, he is the one being hurt, and he is the one suffering the most.
Cole’s gained advances and allies since Amillia last had to face him. What kind of allies does he have to make a whole pack turn against their alpha, or soon to be alpha, whatever Khalil is at the moment to all of them? That doesn’t matter right now though, al Amillia wants is the blood of Cole, and that’s what she’s determined to go after if he’s the one willing to attack first.
Blood is splattered everywhere as almost thirty wolf bodies lay scattered all over Amillia’s house and leading outside into the yard, and some are even dead upon the stairs that lead to the second floor. They hadn’t been joking when they decided they wanted to come here in attempts to kill everyone. The swords in Amillia’s hand is dripping blood all over it, as well as Amillia herself. She turns toward Cole, ready, she’s been wanting to face him, and kill him, for about eight years now. At least that’s when the hate and severe need to see him dead kicked in fully.
Cole is enjoying the carnage that he has caused. He’s never cared much for these mutts seeing them as pointless. Over half of them have been so distracted by just trying to survive in this world of mortals, who hate them, that they’ve forgotten the whole reason that the moon goddess has placed them here. There was a plan, at one point in time that plan had seemed solid, however, in reality that plan has been blown to hell for a while now.
Then Cole notices the sword that Amillia is holding. He’s seen that before, that’s the same one she had used when she took out the elders. Nothing will stop her from tearing through everyone, or everything here, and then he notices that her main focus is him. He isn’t too willing to die tonight, but he is willing to sacrifice this entire pack of mutts to make sure that he can escape to make another plan of action.
As Amillia makes her way to Cole, while slashing down every beast that launches at her, Cole’s panic begins to grow. Right before she reaches, only a few seconds away, Cole disappears.
She stops fighting, lowering the sword that is in her hands. There’s no point in killing these mutts when they are just following orders that they must obey. This pack didn’t deserve to die as they have, and Khalil doesn’t deserve to feel their deaths and suffer the way that he has as well.
“It’s over,” Amillia says barely above a whisper, and everyone stops around her, even the one’s Cole had been controlling. Guess his control only lasts as long as he’s around. Interesting to learn. She’s going to make a mental note about that one for sure.
She turns around to face everyone else, the wolves already shifting back into their humanoid forms. Natalia is the cleanest looking person in the room, everyone else covered in blood from head to toe. Khalil had truly fought to defend her against his own pack, which is something that Amillia is almost certain Cole hadn’t counted on. It has also earned Khalil brownie points in Amillia’s books.
“Cole is gone, there’s no point in fighting his battle anymore,” Amillia states to the remaining of Khalil’s pack. Her voice sounding way more confident and like her old self than she expected it to honestly. “I don’t know what he done or had over all of you all, but I’m not willing to spill innocent blood if it’s unnecessary. This is not your battle, but if you plan on joining it I’d think long and hard about which side you want to fight on. Cole has left every one of you all to die, to fight against your own leader. Is he really the one you, and the rest of your kind, wants to follow?”
Amillia’s tired. It’s been seven years since she’s had to fight anything. Seven years of peace, and boy how she misses that peace these days. She had it good here, no magic, no drama, no war of the God’s that put everything and everyone in the middle. It had been nice to be able to forget who she is and what her destiny is for those seven short years.
Khalil drops to his knees, his head buried in his hands. Amillia can feel the guilt and regret rolling off of him, and Natalia must be able to as well considering she goes straight to his side and wraps him up in a hug. He doesn’t even flinch. The sorrow and regret that is coming from him hits everyone hard, even the mortals can feel it radiating from him.
Ignoring all the dead in the house and the other five people Amillia walks around her property and sees a whole entire army of shifters. Cole had honestly been ready to sacrifice hundreds of shifters for his cause and she’s willing to put money on the fact that these shifters don’t have a clue as to what they are fighting for. Blindly following Cole and what he says, but then again Cole is blindly following orders without truly knowing what he’s doing. It’s like the blind leading the blind.
Amillia stops walking on her porch, the remaining shifters, both inside and outside of the house are all kneeling down on one knee with their heads turned to the left. Her powers may have finally decided to return to her full force, this isn’t anything knew, Amillia and her sisters have the blood of mother goddess and the sun god both running through their veins. They’re more powerful than anyone actually realizes. There’s nothing more to do here, as everyone who survives starts to pile out of the house Amillia turns around and walks back in.
She isn’t inside of her house too long before she returns with all the stuff she had been packing up. She takes in a deep breath then exhales.
“I’m sorry Khalil, but we have to go now. I’m assuming your people can make their way back home?” She asks. He nods his head and commands them all to leave and return back to their pack grounds immediately, and they obey. Good doggies.
Khalil, helping Natalia, along with Jackson and the two hunters head toward Jackson’s and Amillia’s cars that are setting the driveway. Jackson and the hunters will be taking his car while the other two will be traveling with Amillia. As they all make their way to the cars, they hear a small explosion and then smoke starts to enclose around them. They turn to look and see what happened and see Amillia walking away from a burning house.
“It’s to protect this place. It’s been tainted thanks to Cole.” Is all Amillia responds as she gets into her car followed by Khalil and Natalia. They both look at her as if she’s insane but follow her into her car anyways. All of them still covered in blood, well, all except Natalia. They drive away as the house burns to the ground, destroying all evidence of the battle that just took place.
