Sonja
(3rd person – Present)
“Do you think that Jayven and Daniel will find their mom and sister?” Natalia asks Amillia as they set up camp just inside a wooded area so they could try to keep cover as best as possible.
In only a few short hours dystopia set in and slowly but surely the earth is turning into a waste land. Of course, the mortals aren’t even aware of what is happening. In fact, they all are just convinced it’s normal for nature to be acting in such a manner as it is. Earthquakes everywhere, volcano’s erupting all over the world showering everything in the vicinity with molten lava and ash. Mountains have started to crumble, wild animals are turning more savage than normal for no apparent reason, and people are starting to lose what little sense they did have. Everything that has been slowly taking over for the past several hundreds of years has all thrown up all over the world and everything that’s contained within it.
“Honestly,” Amillia answers, “I don’t think they’re going to like what they find, but they do have a good chance of finding them.”
Natalia thinks for a moment. She hasn’t been able to practice, learn and grow as Amillia has. It’s as if she’s just entering this world for the first time considering she had been just a baby when they all had been separated.
“What do you think has happened to them?” Natalia asks her sister.
Amillia thinks about that for a moment, then she sighs. “Carrick, the right-hand man to the Lord of Darkness, wouldn’t just go after some random hunters, he’s go after members of the Wyatt family that have abandoned the family,” Amillia starts to tell. “I doubt you remember who the Wyatt’s are, which is understandable, they’re not exactly our friends, actually it’s exactly the opposite to be honest.
“If my suspicions are correct, which they normally are, then based off of the pentagram shape left where all the attacks they were tracking occurred it’s more than likely Leyla who’s come. Leyla believes she is Carrick’s daughter, she believes she is one of the princesses of darkness, and honestly, she kinda is. That bitch is scary evil. I think that Jayven and Daniel, along with their mom and sister are members of the Wyatt family and either aren’t aware or are trying to hide and Leyla was sent to capture them. For some reason she developed a conscious, probably because of the prophecy starting to take effect and us finding each other, but she let Jayven go.
“Natalia,” Amillia says looking her sister dead in the eye. “Not all demons are born that way, some are made. They are made in the underworld, lost souls tortured and abused for many, many year until they lose all sense of who they were and become beasts and evil. That’s what Leyla does, she created demons out of lost souls. She’s cruel, evil, and way to powerful. That’s why I said I know where she is and she’ll have to wait until last because it’ll be to dangerous for us to go after her alone, we’re better off with Sonja first.”
Natalia isn’t sure what to think about everything that Amillia just told her. Is it possible that Leyla is truly evil and is wreaking havoc on the mortal world? Of course, it is! Why would Amillia lie about it?
Another question that enters into Natalia’s mind though, one that Amillia hadn’t touched on with her explanation. How does Amillia know where Leyla is and how powerful she is and what she is up to in the underworld?
Then it hits Natalia, Damian’s a demon and apparently is fated to be with Amillia, or at least that’s what that one chick who said she was one of the fates said when she removed their curse so they could continue to follow their destiny.
“Amillia, how did you meet Damian?” Natalia asks her sister.
“I met him when I lived with our aunt, Gloria, he saved my life and we’ve been by each other’s side ever since.” Amillia answers.
No need for the details just yet, they don’t actually matter. Amillia doesn’t mind answering any of her sister’s questions, but the details will all work themselves out in the end. After all, the truth never stays hidden for long.
Meanwhile, Jackson and Khalil are out trying to hunt some food to cook while the girls are back at the camp site they have set up maintaining the fire and doing the sister thing.
Jackson has noticed that something is off with Khalil and has been ever since Natalia told everyone about the dream she had with Sonja in it. That vibes that Khalil is giving off aren’t what they had been and are screaming of secrecy. It’s obvious that Khalil is truly unaware of just how powerful everyone he’s with actually is, he underestimates them and their abilities because they don’t act like they are all power beings.
Khalil has yet to say anything to anyone other than Natalia still, although he has stopped contradicting and arguing with Amillia. Natalia is the only reason he doesn’t one hundred percent mistrust Amillia anymore, but that doesn’t mean that he’s going to drop his guard and pretend they’re lifelong friends.
Although, after Natalia said what she had said about Sonja, Khalil did realize that he may know more than what he’s let on. It’s not that he purposefully told lies or misguided anyone, he only knows rumors, he’s never seen anything for himself so is it a lie if it’s just not spreading a rumor further? But is it a rumor if Natalia had a dream of the exact same thing?
Unaware that Jackson can read his thoughts, Khalil allows these thoughts to run freely through his head in attempts to figure out what he wants to do about the entire situation.
Jackson chuckles slightly, “If you pick sides with Cole, and help him, and lie to Amillia then you might as well commit suicide right here and now. Lose her trust once and you don’t get it back, she can be cold hearted when need be.” He informs Khalil.
Khalil stops walking and just looks at Jackson, who sighs, and then continues to tell him. “I can read minds, it’s pretty easy, actually one of the first powers I picked up ever is telepathy. You’re not exactly one that’s been willing to let anyone try to be nice to so I got curious to see if we can really trust you.
“See, what we’re doing is way more important than just worrying about simple little shifter problems, this is bigger than all that of one species. This involves all species, magical or not. We’re talking about destruction of all the worlds, I mean surely you’ve heard all the prophecies about this shit?”
Khalil stops and thinks for a moment, “No, I’ve never heard any prophecies about the magical community in general. You do know that each species has their own god and their own prophecies and that’s mostly what they are concerned about.”
Jackson can’t help but to roll his eyes at Khalil’s response and his ignorance. “Of course, every species has their own prophecies, certain things that only pertain to them, that’s supposed to happen within their own community, but they’re always more to every story. There’s a bigger picture that it seems a lot of the species on Earth don’t take into consideration. Seems that greed and selfishness didn’t just leak into the mortals but has infiltrated magical beings as well.”
His words are the truth, and no matter how mad Khalil wants to be at Jackson for him calling him ignorant, he knows know just how true the words that Jackson speaks are. He never before would have guessed that everything in creation is in the middle of this big war that’s between the gods, and yet, here they are.
“You know where Cole is keeping Sonja don’t you?” Jackson asks, but his question sounded much more like an accusing statement.
Deep down Khalil does know, but he doesn’t know for sure. He has heard rumors that Cole has been using one of the most powerful werewolf packs in the United States as a place to hide something, or someone, who’s been rumored to be very dangerous and powerful. No one has ever said before who that person is, or what that person it, just that they are a prisoner, and that Cole has plans for them.
“I can’t say for certain that I know anything Jackson, but there is a rumor that Cole is using the strongest and biggest pack in the US to hold a prisoner due to that prisoner being extremely dangerous and powerful.” Khalil answers truthfully.
Jackson cocks his eyebrow at Khalil, “And did you ever plan on telling anyone this information?”
“Honestly, I don’t know.” Khalil answers making Jackson raise his eyebrow at him once again.
There’s a debate going on inside of Jackson’s head at this moment. Does he trust Khalil? It wouldn’t take much for him to just end Khalil’s life right here and right now. He know he can. Even though Khalil is an alpha shifter of the werewolf community, he still isn’t anything compared to one of the sons of the Lord of the Underworld. Jackson is well aware of this fact even if Khalil isn’t. His ego makes him ignorant and conceded.
“I’m just going to tell you now, Amillia will do whatever she has to, and go through whoever she needs to, for her sisters. All she’s ever wanted was for her family to be together and be able to live a normal life, or as normal as it can be. If I was you, I wouldn’t stand in her way. It’s better to a friend of hers than an enemy.” Jackson tells Khalil.
It is true, Amillia has made a name for herself in all the different worlds or realms. But the rumors of who she is just so happen to be conflicted, so she’s more of a myth in all the worlds. Amillia, when being herself, the good version of who she is, is rumored to be one of the most powerful beings to exist, one of the nicest and most compassionate, but she also has a low tolerance for ignorance and evil. The other Amillia, the evil one, the Princess of Darkness, that’s where all the scariness that people hear about her come from. The reason people question who she is really and who she is really supposed to be.
“Khalil, just to let you know, I’m not sure what all your species prophecies are, but if Amillia’s doesn’t come true then anything your people say will not be coming true either. Pick your side wisely.” Jackson told Khalil seriously then pointing out a deer standing in a field not to far from where they are.
The men returned to where the girls are still setting in silence, both just staring at the fire that they have going. Luckily the deer is already dressed and is prepared to be put on top of the fire for them to eat.
The four of them ate in silence. Tension in the air didn’t go unnoticed making this very uncomfortable. Considering that they hadn’t been prepared for a campout, the four of them just curled up near the fire to attempt to get some sleep.
Two days pass and Khalil still doesn’t say a word to either of the girls about the thing that he and Jackson talked about. His actions created a tension so thick it became impossible for any sort of happiness to even think about entering into anyone’s head. It’s obvious that the tension is all coming from Jackson toward Khalil as well. He does nothing to hide the fact.
Finally, after the two days pass Amillia gets sick of all the hostility that has formed between her male companions. Nope, she isn’t dealing with all this, it’s going to end.
“What’s the deal with you two?” She asks as they stop walking along a dirt trail that’s leading through the forested area in which they have made it to.
“What do you mean?” Khalil asks, making Jackson scoff.
“That!” Amillia exclaims pointing her finger between the two of them looking at them all serious trying to debate if she wants to try to talk this out or beat the tension out of them. It’s a hard decision at this moment.
Khalil looks at Jackson, who returns a cold glare at him. “It’s nothing,” Khalil mumbles.
“You’re a fucking liar too!” Jackson says with his anger getting the better of him. “Amillia, he knows where they’re keeping Sonja. It’s a rumor he’s heard, but it’s a start.”
“What the fuck!” Amillia exclaims. Anger is bubbling up inside of her as if she’s a volcano about to erupt. The words that just touched her ears are not any where what she had expected to hear this whole tension crap is about.
On the other hand, Natalia’s heart drops. He’s been lying to them this whole time. He’s been lying to her this whole time. She trusted him with everything, with her life, and “You lied to me?” She asks softly.
The hurt in Natalia’s eyes tug at Khalil’s heart. He never want her or lose her trust in such a manor. He shouldn’t have kept his mouth shut and let this happen, and he knows that there’s no one else to blame but himself for all the hostility and crap that’s occurring between everyone right now.
“Natalia, no, I didn’t exactly lie to you, I wouldn’t do that,” Khalil starts, but Amillia interrupts him.
“No, you just neglected to mention the fact that you had heard a rumor that could possibly lead us to our sister while knowing good and damn well that’s the whole point in what we’re doing. We’ve been wondering around for two days not knowing where to go or to look while trying to stay safe and this whole time you could have told us information that may have helped us to at least form a plan. Anything is better than nothing!” Amillia’s anger is flaring up again.
Khalil’s head snaps in the direction of Amillia, yeah, he may have messed up by neglecting to give a rumor as facts, but she’s not helping the situation. It doesn’t help his head that his thoughts are telling him that she’s just doing this because she doesn’t like him anyway.
“Khalil,” Natalia says bringing the attention back to her. “Please, tell us what you know.”
Khalil sighs in defeat. He’s going to have to say something now or else he faces losing Natalia’s friendship forever, not to mention that Amillia may just kill him for not being honest.
“There’s a rumor that in the Blood Moon pack, the strongest werewolf pack in the United States, that Cole is holding someone captive in their dungeon. The hostage is supposed to be extremely dangerous and extremely powerful. They’re supposed to be the downfall of all shifters. No one knows for sure, but Cole does visit there more than he does any other pack.” Khalil tells them.
Thinking about it now he has been stupid for not piecing everything together. The same things that Cole has spoken to his father about Natalia is exactly what the rumors are saying about the captive. It’s entirely more than possible that the captive is actually Sonja and that there is some truths behind the rumors.
“So, what are we going to do?” Natalia asks.
Amillia thinks for a moment, what are they going to do. There’s options. The one thing that she knows for sure is that she’s going to free her sister and have at least two out of three of them with her. They have to save Sonja.
“We’re going to this pack and we’re going to save our sister is what we’re going to do.” Amillia answers.
“And just how do you plan to do that? This is the strongest of the werewolf shifters packs and you want to just waltz in and free a captive that is being held by the biggest and baddest alpha there is?” Khalil asks.
Amillia can’t help but to smile at Khalil and his antics. So, what if he’s scared of this little alpha? Chances are, ten to one, the dude doesn’t have anything on Amillia.
“He may be a big bad wolf, but he’s never met someone like me before. I promise you he’s the least of my worries. What we need to be careful of is if Erik decides to randomly pop up in the middle of our mission.” Amillia says.
She’s not entirely scared of Erik; she knows she can fight him and can hold her own. These days they’re both pretty well equally matched, but Erik isn’t someone they can trust either. He’s sneaky and conniving and he likes to play dirty. Running into Erik isn’t something that Amillia is interested in doing anytime soon, but then again, she isn’t willing to wait too much longer to free Sonja. It’s un-telling what they have done to her already.
Sonja
I remember it all, every bit of it, even though I pretend that I don’t. I lie to them daily, or at least on the days that I’m not locked up alone in this cold and dark dungeon. Of course, I’m going to lie though, why wouldn’t I. They’d have done killed me if I didn’t, and unlike them, I’m aware that Amillia and I share one ability in common, and that’s out memory.
It's because of the fact that we are psychic with photographic memories why our minds can’t be tampered with. Not even the Prince of the Underworld had been able to tamper with our minds as he did with everyone else’s.
Cole is ignorant. He thinks that he can change me into what he wants me to be. Nope, no sir, that’s not how this works. Everything happens for a reason, which means there a reason for me being here enduring all of this, I’m just not sure what that reason is at this moment. I’ll find out.
For years, well to be exact, from the moment that I was kidnapped, the night that our family was destroyed, they have been running tests on me. Since Cole controls the shifters, he’s been trying to turn me into one of them and rid me of my free will and of the powers which I possess. Did I mention that Cole is ignorant.
It’s not as if our powers are something that just anyone can take away. We were made from the mother goddess, we hold her powers, our powers of the powers of a very powerful deity. While they’re not as strong as mother goddess, or the Lord of Lords for that matter, they are still quit far up there on the power chain, and they’re ours. All Cole is doing is adding to them, he’ll ever be able to control us or take from us other than material, worldly things.
The thoughts of what is going to happen to Cole keeps me sane. I’ve seen it. I was blessed with that vision during one of his torture events. Ha! Sure, it hurts for a moment, but it heals and then I’m all better. I’m not sure why Cole hasn’t realized that he’s not doing any damage yet considering the fact it’s been hella years since he first had me placed here.
While Cole is ignorant, the man that runs this shit show of a place sure the hell isn’t. He’s noticed what Cole has failed too, which kinda scares me, and then it kind of makes me wonder about him. Is he not as faithful of a servant as Cole believes he is.
Yes, he has held to his word and has kept me chained in the dungeons, alone, for all of these years. But, he hasn’t made my life any worse. He could have been starving me, beating me, raping me, he can do anything he wants to me while I’m chained up down here, but he doesn’t. He makes sure that I have proper food, and even the cot I have to sleep on isn’t too bad, and I got a cover and pillows. It’s actually not that bad of a place to live, but it’s dark, and I hate the dark.
I’m almost certain there’s a spell cast upon me. I can’t sleep, it’s part of the punishments that they put me through. When I do sleep I see that night over and over and over again. I hear their screams, and I see their frozen faces as they are taken down by the army that’s attacking. I can see the leader of the group of demons that attacked us. It’s a face I’ll never forget and one that I will never forgive. One day soon the Prince of the Underworld will have to face me, and when he does not even Amillia will be able to save him.
So, the best I can figure out is that when Cole attempted to turn me into a shifter, he awakened my powers to a level that no one in any of the worlds has ever seen before. To be honest I’m completely amazed by my own powers.
Being the oldest of the Black children, or at least the eldest on my mother’s side, I remember and know quit a bit. My mother had been very adamant about teaching us everything that we could possibly ever need to know. She knew that her life her was short and that it wouldn’t last to see all her children grow up.
Mom had started preparing me and my powers for our future from the moment that I was born. She didn’t do as much with my sisters, but then again there’s give years between me and Leyla, and eight between me and Amillia, so I had already learned control of my powers and emotions by the time that Amillia and Natalia were born.
Poor Natalia, she’s the one I worry about the most. My poor baby sister. I’ve seen her life; I have felt her heartache and her questioning and her sorrow. It breaks my heart to think about her growing up alone, abandoned, used, and abused, and in the streets. She never knew the love of a family the same way that the rest of us have.
And then that alpha, Khalil, oh boy does he still have a lot to learn. Nothing is going as he has thought it would, and little does he know, it never will again. Everything he has ever known in life is changing and will continue to change, and yet, he hasn’t any idea that this isn’t even the beginning of it all for him.
It’s late, I’m not sure how late, but my dinner had already been brought to me, so I know that someone will be returning soon to take away the plate and to make sure I’ve ate. The alpha makes them check on how much I’m eating, according to him he wants me to eat and at least maintain some form of health while being trapped down here.
I’m a good actor, I pretend to be weak and scared every time that they come in here, except not all of it is acting. I am weaker than I should be with the cuffs around my arms. They’re magical cuffs, made by the gods to contain a god. I’m not a god and I’m not the one’s the cuffs were meant to be used on. It’s actually surprising to know that Cole is the one who ended up with these beautifully crafted cuffs in his possession.
These people have no idea that I can see it all, I can hear it all, I can even feel it all if I open myself up enough too. I know that this is supposed to be the strongest, the biggest, and the worst werewolf packs in the united states, although I’m not sure how they came about that reputation because they’re all idiots if you ask me.
“Apparently alpha’s getting sick of Cole. I heard him saying the other day that we’ve held this woman captive long enough and nothing he’s done to her has worked. He’s tired of following Cole’s orders.” I heard one of the guards of the door telling someone.
They only have one guard at the door to the dungeon at a time. Why? That’s a good question. It’s clear that no one truly knows about me, or my sisters, because believe me, if we wanted too, and if I wasn’t in this special chains, then one guard wouldn’t do shit to stop us from doing whatever we wanted. This whole pack doesn’t stand a chance against all of us. Something they’ll soon find out.
“Apparently Cole is losing his touch from what I’ve heard,” the other person talking to the guard says.
“How so?” The guard asks.
“There was some trouble at the Black Moon pack when he went there to attend their gala. Nothing is being said about it though, but there’s been tension. No one knows what actually happened there, but Cole has been on edge and losing it ever since.” The second person informs.
Interesting to learn. That’s the pack that will be Khalil’s, I’ve seen it and heard it before in my visions, that’s where my sister is. Did whatever happen there involve my sister? I have so many questions, but none I’m actually able to ask.
Knowing that Natalia may be in trouble has brought a new fire alive inside of me. I have to find a way to break the chains, even just a little bit. One scratch to the wording written on it that’s not visible to the ordinary magical eye and the spell will be damaged. Of course, that also means that these chains are going to be about impossible to scratch and I’m going to have to think of something good.
There is one thing that I can do, it’s simple, it shouldn’t be too hard to convince these idiots to get me what I need. After all, it’s very beneficial for my health as well, and apparently this alpha is all about making sure I maintain some form of health, for some reason. I’m still interested in finding that out.
