Finding Sonja: Surprise!
It’s been a week since I learned the information about Cole losing his edge. No one mentions anything else about the situation and Cole hasn’t been by here but once, in which time I could sense Natalia’s presence in here with me. I’m not sure how, but I’m almost certain she watched that bastard stab me.
At least I know that she’s alive. That’s a plus. Also, I know that if I can get them to bring me what I need I can reach out to Natalia, especially now that she’s opened the link to our connection.
After Cole leaves, I feel her presence leave as well. I’m left alone in the dark with the guard that is normally stationed outside my door. He’s standing there, looking at me with sorrow in his eyes. Well… maybe he isn’t one of the heartless bad guys, honestly, I don’t think anyone in this pack is as big and bad as they are told to be.
“I’m sorry about that, is there anything I can get you to help you heal faster?”
Yes! I think to myself, the perfect opening. “Yes, please, I need an herbal tea if you can find the one, I need. It’s a bacopa herb that I need you blend into a lavender and chamomile brew.” I answer him.
It’s worth a shot. Have I mentioned that these pack members aren’t the brightest? He doesn’t even notice that my wound is already healed due to the fact that my shirt is covered with blood.
“Yes ma’am, and I’ll bring you something to change into as well.” He answers and leaves out the dungeon door, shutting it behind him, shutting me in the dark once again, alone.
I’m sort of hoping that this is one of those shifter packs that has a witch friend or something available. If there’s a witch around, she’ll know the herbs, hell she may even know what the tea is used for, or at least one of the uses for it anyways. I’ve never been happier that my mother taught me everything she knew when she could.
The guard is taking longer than he normally does returning this time. Normally he’s back within a few minutes, but that’s just to bring clean clothes to change into, not trying to find the special herbal brew that I requested as well.
After what felt like a few hours, the guard returns. He hands me the cup of tea after stating that it is exactly what I requested and even apologized for taking longer than normal. He then hands me clothes to change into as well. I’m content at the moment, thanking him for his kindness as he leaves me alone once more.
I change my clothes, thankful that I can get out of the sticky, sweaty clothes that I have had one since Cole had come here and stabbed me. Fucking bastard, I may heal quickly now because of the experiments, but it still hurts like a bitch!
Even though I’m extremely thirsty right now considering I only get water when they bring, they food, I must say that this tea taste terrible. It doesn’t even do anything for the thirst. But the moment that I finish the cup I automatically start to feel as if I am in a different world. It’s almost as if I’m having an out of body experience.
This is something that I’ve never tried before although my mother made sure I knew about herbs and their uses, actually using in the variety of ways that are available is not something that we did. Of course, then again, why would we? There was no reason back then for me to attempt to enter into someone’s mind from my own at a distance that I’m not even aware of. For all I know Natalia is already in a different world, no longer here and suffering as she has in this world.
Okay, tea drunk, out of body experience happening, not I need to focus on Natalia or Amillia one. Something is telling me that Natalia will be the easiest one to contact, she’s not as guarded as Amillia is, understandably might I add.
I think with everything in me about Natalia, reaching out to her, and I see them. They’re staying to the wooded areas, probably smart on their parts. Cole more than likely has every supernatural being, especially shifters, looking for them. Not all the woods are claimed as territory, and they have Khalil with them, he should be very aware if they step into someone else’s territory unannounced.
Connecting with Natalia’s mind is easier than I anticipated but having her knocked unconscious for no reason in front of the other three is something that I hadn’t taken into account.
“Where am I?” She asks looking around the white fog that’s engulfing us. I can barely make her out through it because of its thickness.
“We are nowhere and everywhere. This is a mindset Natalia, I called you here,” I answered her, slightly freaking her out. That was to be expected.
Natalia is scared and on the verge of panicking. “Who are you?” She asks.
“Sonja,” I respond. “I know that you seen me in the dungeon the other day and what Cole did. I had one of the guards make a tea without telling them what it’s for so I could reach out to your mind. I wanted to let you all know where I am. If I’m correct, then Amillia has you out looking for me as we speak.”
Natalia thinks on this for a moment. She’s not sure if she can trust me, I can tell by the way that she’s looking. I applaud her skeptism because she should be weary of what’s going on, especially since she can be considered “new” to this world and magic.
“Listen, Natalia, we don’t have much time, but Khalil is correct. I am being held at the biggest werewolf pack in the US. I’m okay, for now, but Cole is getting antsy which is making the pack antsy. It won’t be easy if you all are trying to break into this place. The best bet is a disguise, Amillia will know, and she can probably get in here. I’m chained in special chains made to hold us and keep our powers dormant, that’s why I had to use a tea to communicate with you. Cole hasn’t been here since that day that you saw him here, and it’s being said he’s not returning anytime soon. Please be careful and keep your eyes out. I have to go now, the guard will be coming back soon, I love you all.” I say as the fog disappears and I’m back inside the cold, damp dungeon that I call a home.
I hope that Natalia listens to me and that Amillia will know what I am talking about. She should, it wouldn’t be the first time that’s pretended to be someone else to get what she wants accomplished.
Now all there is for me to do is to set around and wait. Waiting is always the worst part of it all. I hate not knowing, besides, it’s not as if there’s something, anything, for me to do in this damn dungeon to distract myself.
(3rd Person – Present)
Natalia goes down, out of nowhere. It shocked all three of the people with her. They had been walking through the woods, walking toward nothing in general, trying to figure what to do and Amillia trying not to rip Khalil into pieces for keeping secrets when Natalia just falls down.
“Oh shit,” Khalil says catching Natalia before she can hit the ground.
“What the hell?” Jackson asks. “She does that a lot, is this normal?” He inquires trying to be funny, but a hint of curiosity is lacing his voice.
Khalil looks irritated at his question. “No, this is so not normal,” he spits back at Jackson, who seems to find all of this amusing.
Amillia is the only one who seems to not be amused by this situation. She bends down on her knees next to her sister. They have no idea where they are right now, and for all they know one of their enemies could be coming for them. Amillia starts to check Natalia’s pulse, normal, her pupils look fine, they’re not dilated or blown.
“We’re just going to have to wait,” Amillia states. “She’s fine, she’s… just, asleep?” The last word sounding more like a question than a confident statement.
“Well, what are we going to do while we wait?” Jackson asks taking a seat on the ground opposite of Amillia.
“Well,” Amillia starts, “Khalil is going to tell us everything he knows about this ‘Blood Moon Pack’ and their alpha. If we’re going to see if the rumors are true, I’d rather go prepared.”
From what Khalil is aware of, the alpha of the Blood Moon pack isn’t old, he’s actually one of the youngest alpha’s there are. He had killed his father and took his title from him. It’s said that his father was a brute, mean, and just plain evil; he lacked a soul some would say.
One thing that the old alpha of the Blood Moon pack liked to pride himself on is being from one of the “original” families, as he called it. Upon hearing this one Amillia couldn’t help but to scoff, she highly doubts that this man and his lineage is from that far back, mostly because none of the originals follow someone else’s lead and it’s obvious that this man had also been under Cole’s control during his time of ruling. Maybe this new alpha of this pack isn’t so bad after all, after all he did kill his father, so he hopefully he isn’t one to fall in with Cole as well.
“So, what do you know about these people that will help us get in to be able to check it out and see if they are holding Sonja hostage?” Amillia asks.
Khalil thinks about this for a moment. What could be done? He doesn’t know much about this new alpha besides that he killed his father to take control, he’s known to be brutal just like his father, most of everything that happens inside of the pack stays that way, the only thing that other people know are the rumors that are spread, and there’s even a rumor about the rumors being started by the people in the pack.
“So, absolutely nothing that’s helpful?” Amillia says a bit disheartened. She had had hopes, and Khalil crushed them.
“Not from him at least,” Jackson says, “Amillia, this isn’t your first rodeo with Cole, or any of his people. If this was seven years ago, what would you do?”
Amillia gives Jackson a pointed look. Beyond the point. “What I would have done seven years ago isn’t what I should do now. If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do this in a way that will save the most innocents possible.”
Just then Natalia wakes up, setting straight up and sucking in breath as if she’s a fish out of water. Her face is pale and the look on her face is one of shock and disbelief.
“Are you okay?” Amillia asks, concerned about her sister.
It takes Natalia a moment, she’s looking around her, as she calms down and breathes the color returns to her face.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” She answers.
“What happened?” Jackson asks out of curiosity.
Natalia looks up at him, “I seen Sonja, she said she made a tea to connect our minds and that she’s being held captive in that pack that Khalil has heard about and that if we go there to make sure we’re disguised.” She says without a pause.
Jackson looks at Amillia trying, hoping to be able to see on her face that she has a plan for what they are going to do.
The four of them are setting there in silence. Amillia has no idea what Sonja would be wanting her to do. She doesn’t know how to sneak into a pack, the last time she dealt with any shifters she had been the princess of darkness, and well, let’s just say that’s not an option.
The trip to this pack has taken about two weeks to actually achieve. Their plan, show up and see what happens and pray that they don’t end up having to wipe the biggest pack of werewolf shifters in the United States. Deep down Amillia is secretly hoping that none of the Wyatt’s are here, that could make things more difficult, but that’s not something she wanted to voice and worry the others about.
Amillia is curious to see about this alpha dude, the last time Amillia had dealt with any sort of pack they hadn’t been from this world. She’s never dealt with a shifter here. In the world of Avalon, where the magical people live, shifters were normal, but they did live on the opposite side of world from the elves and nymphs and all those other humanoid creatures.
She’s wondering if there’s more to this one specific alpha than what is being let on. Not one pack, except this one, is stronger than the other in this world. In fact, most of the “originals”, as they call themselves, are from Avalon and not even originating in this world. It’s all a mess and nothing is as it’s supposed to anymore.
The entire territory of the Blood Moon pack is surrounded by a very large wall with silver spikes and barbed wire running across the top. Yup, there’s so no sneaking into this place without knowing the layout of the land. Glad they didn’t plan to attempt a break in.
According to Khalil this pack is full of fighters, guards, this pack is the one that the others call on when they have problems and need help defending themselves.
Amillia walks up to the wall that stands about fifteen foot tall. There’s only place in the whole wall for people to enter and exit out of, the doors as tall and solid as the wall itself is. There’s four guards that are standing just inside the gate that opens into the pack lands.
“Who are you and what do you want?” One of the guards ask Amillia as she approaches.
“I would like to speak with your alpha please.” She states as nicely and politely as she possibly can. Maybe kill them with kindness?
“Why? What pack are you from?” Another guard asks.
“I need to speak with your alpha, I’m not from a pack,” Amillia answers honestly with her patience running a little thin. She’s anxious, all she wants is to know if her sister is inside this guarded wall, and to get her back if she is.
The guards can sense that anxiety coming from Amillia and stand a tall as if they are showing that they have power and are willing to fight. Amillia sighs, she’s really not trying to get into a fight here, but she honestly doesn’t want to say who she is, not all shifters are friends of hers, and depending on who this alpha is and where he’s from depends on whether they are friends or foes.
“Please sir, we’re not intending any harm, I just want to speak with your alpha, if need be I can wait here as long as you will relay the message and see if he will come out and meet me,” Amillia pleads.
The guards’ eyes cloud over, she had been prepared for this to happen. Khalil had informed her how mind linking works with packs, and even some shifters can do it with others that they aren’t in the same pack with. The rules and ways of this world are so different from what she had learned in the past.
No one says a word for a few minutes, which doesn’t help with Amillia’s anxiety. The other three stayed back, close enough to aid Amillia if needed, but not close enough to where the guards may believe them to be a threat. Apparently it’s a sign of respect, alphas don’t normally liked being approached by a crowd, it makes them feel threatened and they’ll into an automatic defense mode. Silly.
“Allow them entrance,” A familiar voice calls behind the guards in the shadows where Amillia can’t see the person speaking.
As the gates open Amillia turns and looks at Jackson who looks shocked and confused, which just confirms Amillia’s suspicions. But, it isn’t possible, how could it be? There’s no way she’s actually here. What the hell is going on?
