Attack On The Bears
“So, where are my niece and nephew and when do I get to meet them?” Natalia asks.
“They’re safe, I’m not saying where while here. It’s not a place known, it can only be shown,” Damian answers leaving no room for a debate on the subject. Matthew may not be his, but Mia’s is, and either way it goes, he’s not about to let either of them down now.
Jackson is still confused though, “So, what exactly brought up this history lesson?”
Damian rolls his eyes about the whole thing and informs his brother of the current situation. “From what I can fucking gather is that Khalil said something to Amillia about Seth being the damn Lycan King now and how he’s worked with Cole. Amillia got pissed and went after him in front of everyone. Jarod pulled us all aside and told us to get our fucking shit together before people get fucking hurt, and now here we are, discussing the fucking past.”
“Oh, so is everyone caught up on everything now?” Jackson’s wondering if this is going to be an all-night thing or not. He’s tired and would like some sleep. He doesn’t want to be bothered with arguments over petty stuff that has happened in the past. It’s not as if they’re able to go back into time and change things, it is what it is at this point.
“Not exactly,” Khalil, Mr. Troublemaker, says. “They still haven’t explained why Seth would have partnered up with Cole for any reason.”
Seth stands up, finally losing control, and makes it to Khalil in a few short steps, he grabs him by his throat and pins him up against the wall leaving his feet hanging in the air.
“The bastard fucking killed my son, took my mate, and killed a whole army of people I loved. I’ll watch him burn, and if freeing the shifters is part of that process then what the fuck ever has to be done. I never turned my back on my people, or my mate!” Seth spits out through anger and gritted teeth that are now all sharp and pointy with his Lycan taking over his body.
Oh yeah, this isn’t good. It’s not Seth that’s about to kill Khalil, but his Lycan. That whole situation leaves a bad taste in the creature’s mouth, and he swears his revenge on the bastard that caused it all.
Amillia steps forward and grabs Seth’s arm, “Atlas, give control back to Seth please,” She requests. “Khalil didn’t know, he doesn’t know the whole story, he’s being protective over those he loves, so please, give Seth back control.”
Everyone in the room was waiting to see what would happen. It’s not a secret that Seth, or Atlas, would tear Khalil into pieces if they were to actually fight. That’s just a fight that not too many people could win.
Very reluctantly, Seth lets Khalil go, he shakes his head once, then turns to Amillia and embraces her in a tight hug, which in turn makes Damian extremely uncomfortable. He’s not a fan of the situation that they’re in, never once had he dreamed that their lives would have all these twists and turns and roadblocks in the middle of it.
Jackson steps forward, being the sensible one of the groups, he suggests, “maybe, it’d be best if Amillia, Damian, and Seth go and talk things over for themselves and if anyone else has any questions about anyone’s loyalties, or where anyone else lies in this situation I can answer those questions for them.” And then adds, “After all, it seems I am the neutral party in this whole situation right now.”
“I think Jackson has a point and it’s more than obvious the three of us have shit we need to fucking discuss,” Damian says, still not very pleased with how everything is turning out so far.
After speaking Damian walks off toward the room where Amillia had been sleeping. He doesn’t wait for a response from anyone. He’s ready to get everything settled and get back to a life with Amillia and their kids. He isn’t sure what Seth has planned, nor does he care. He has no intentions of letting Amillia go anytime soon, he’s truly and madly deeply in love with her, as he’s almost certain she is him. Almost, there is some doubt considering how long they’ve been apart and all the new developments that have happened between her and Seth.
Seth and Amillia follow after Damian. This isn’t really a conversation that Amillia wants to have with all the other’s ears outside of the door listening in, although she’s pretty certain that Jackson will make sure that they’re able to maintain at least a little privacy, but she has no idea how this talk will go.
When she had first met Seth in his world, and he told her who he was and what they are to each other, she plainly told him that she couldn’t be with him, that she loves someone else and that she doesn’t feel the bond considering the fact she’s not a shifter. He had begged her not to reject him because a rejection could take a shifters life after a while, and Seth has lived for many years without actually falling in love or feeling the bond with anyone else. He didn’t want his death to be because his mate rejects him.
She had agreed, reluctantly, to not reject him, but held steady to her previous statement. She will only ever love Damian, although she and Seth did become good friends, and she does care about him, but it’s nowhere near the amount of love and adoration that she has for Damian.
“So, what’s the fucking the plan here?” Damian asks crossing his arms across his chest. He’s looking right at Amillia expecting her to be the one to speak up.
She sighs, “Damian, I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again, I love you, Seth knows that I love you too.”
Damian cocks his eyebrow up, “But that didn’t stop you from having his kid, did it?”
That was like a smack in her face, which made Seth growl at him. That’s a sore subject considering what happened at the time. Amillia hadn’t expected those words to come out of his mouth.
“Can we not talk about that please,” Amillia request in a quiet tone. None of them have ever talked about what happened when Cole had attacked her and Seth in Seth’s world. It wasn’t something that Amillia wanted to think about too much honestly.
“Maybe we should, Amillia,” Seth says, “you’re not the only one who lost someone that day ya know. It’s not fair to me, or to Damian, to label that topic as voodoo and clam shut about it.”
He does have a point. Amillia isn’t the only who had lost something, or someone. Seth had lost too, and Damian had his heart shattered when she had reappeared out of nowhere. The only good thing was that Damian learned about Mia, his daughter, and got to end up with both Matthew and Mia, but that still doesn’t take away from everything that had happened. It had affected all of them in one way or another.
Amillia looks between the two guys. Damian is hurt and angry, he’s hurt because he feels that everything, he’s done is for nothing and that he’s about to lose the one person he loves more than life itself. He’s also considering what would happen with Matthew and Mia if for some reason Amillia did chose Seth over him. Seth on the other hand looks sad and has sorrow in his eyes. He doesn’t want to be rejected by his mate, he knows that Atlas wouldn’t be able to handle it, let alone survive it.
‘ “So, are we discussing the mate bond that Seth has with me, or the death of Cameron?” Amillia asks keeping her voice indifferent. She isn’t really keen on talking about the latter. It’s never easy to lose a child.
“Let’s go over this ‘mate bond’ thing first, because I’m not so sure how real this is,” Damian states.
Seth stands up, obviously angry, but before he could say anything further, Jarod comes into the room looking flushed as if he’s in a hurry.
“There are creatures here that are half man and half horse, they’re wondering the boarders of the town. My warriors told me that they’re planning an attack.”
Damian, Seth, and Amillia all just look at him, “You mean centaurs are here?” Damian asks.
Centaurs? ‘How the hell did centaurs get here’ Amillia asks herself. They’re not supposed to be in this world!
Centaurs haven’t been in this world in many, many, many years. Not since the magical worlds were separated from the mortal world. They’re not the nicest creatures that have ever been created. They’re ruthless warriors who tolerate no one and have a tendency to rape women. They’re not the creatures that many want to mess with, and they do love the woods, living in the wild, they like their isolation.
They must finally have killed Gloria, after having her hidden very well for seven years, they have now decided to destroy the tie holding the world of worlds together. This means that all of the worlds are soon to collide, good and evil, the best of the best, along with the worst of the worst all living together in this world. The mortals won’t stand a chance.
When they reach outside, they can’t believe what they see. How had they not heard all of this commotion when they were inside of the cabin? Buildings are on fire, some people have shifted into their bears to fight off the invaders, women were trying to run with children to safety, some women not being so lucky to be running and instead being dragged back into the woods that haven’t been inhabited.
Amillia turns to Jackson, “Stay here with Sonja and Renee, keep everything locked up and do not leave the room that they are in, no matter what.” She demands with a look on her face to back up the seriousness in her voice.
She knows she and Damian together can fight these creatures, there’s not that many of them, maybe two dozen total. At least it’s a small group of them. Seth and Khalil can help fight and also make sure as many people that they can gets to safety.
Jackson nods his head and turns around to back inside of their cabin. This isn’t his first time ever seeing a centaur, so he didn’t bother to even ask questions.
The rest of them joining into the battle going on, trying to take down as many centaurs as possible and save as many of the bear shifters that they can. The shifters are skilled fighters, that much is obvious, but it can be difficult to take down a centaur, their lower half is a weapon all in itself with their hooves being able to kick through bricks with ease, and then their upper half is a male body from the torso up, and more than likely, they’re packing human weapons as well.
Amillia’s sword appearing out of nowhere as it normally does. Natalia and Khalil rushed off to help the others to save the women who are being kidnapped while Seth, Amillia, and Damian all start fighting a centaur apiece. Quick and easy, either decapitate the creatures or rip their hearts out. There’s no showing any mercy for any of them.
There has to be more to this than what it appears. Amillia and Natalia both had made sure that protection spells were placed all around this town. There’s no way that anyone would have gotten in without help, which means that either Carrick has found a very, very cunning, and smart witch to help him, or that Leyla is back in this world, and is apparently not on their side.
Seth and Khalil make quick work going through at least a dozen centaurs in no time. There’s blood, hearts, and heads laying everywhere and both men and drenched from top to bottom in nothing but blood.
No one has seen the leader of the group of centaurs though, which is actually very weird. Normally the leader fighting with the rest of the clan for as long as possible, they’re not scared, he wouldn’t just back out of a fight for no reason, which means, as Amillia has thought, there’s something more to all of this than what they’re seeing at face value.
There are just a few centaurs left, and Amillia is looking around examining the scene before them.
“We’ll have to burn the bodies of the deceased,” She states as Jarod approaches her once again.
“I thought you said that your protection spells would keep my people and this town safe!” he barks at Amillia.
Amillia turns to him, her sword shinning in the sun, not even a drop of blood is left on the whole thing. “It should have! Either someone let these damn creatures in, or my other sister has surfaced to this world. Not many, or more like, no witches in existence today would undo what Natalia and I had done. Maybe if each leader of every coven in this world got together then someone may have been able to open just a single spot for the centaurs to enter, but no one outside of my blood line would have been able to take the spells completely down,” she informs.
“Are you saying that one of my people let these creatures in?!” Jarod exclaims. “Do you the state of this place now?!” His voice is rising, which in turn is drawing attention from other people. “Why would one of my own people do this to us?”
Amillia raises her eyebrows at the very obviously pissed off leader of the bear shifters. “No sir, I never said it had to one hundred percent be one of your men who let them in, what I said was if it wasn’t one of them then my sister Leyla is in this world, and in that case, this is the least of all of our problems.” Amillia restates her previous comment in a way that maybe this very angry man will understand.
Just then everything around them went deathly quiet, too quiet. It makes Amillia shoot a look in the direction of Damian and Seth, who also noticed that it became way to silent way too fast.
“What’s going on?” Khalil asks Damian, who he is standing right next too. He didn’t mean to speak loudly, but since the silence that’s taken over the area is eerie, everyone heard his question.
Before anyone could answer though, an arrow came flying out of the woods in the direction of Khalil. Damian watched it and reacted just in time. He moved quick enough for the arrow to land in his own shoulder instead of in Khalil’s heart. The arrow had moved so fast through the air no one seen anything other than the shiny, metal tip of it sparkling through the sky as it aimed for it’s target.
Without thinking about it, Amillia took off in the direction of Damian, running full force to reach him. The moment she reached him and knelt down on the ground beside him trying to see how far into his shoulder the arrow penetrated, the ground started shaking as if an earthquake is occurring. Then, all you can hear is hooves coming toward the area, too many to count, the sound of each hooves hitting the floor of the woods resonating through the silence that has taken over.
“Jarod, get everyone out of here and run! Stay hidden too.” Amillia demanded of the leader of this place.
