28 CONFESSION

ABBY

I’m such a stupid woman. I’m shocked. My jaw drops to the floor with loud a thud, and my eyes pop out from each socket. My heart is having an arrhythmia, and my stupidity has gotten worst, and I don’t say it back. Oh, my god, he loves me. Sebastian Hughes III loves me.

“Baby, are you okay?” He moves his body from my back and drags me to his side.

I rest my head on his shoulder. “I’m drained. But I’m more than okay.”

He kisses the top of my head and runs his fingers on my arms. “Good. Can I ask you something?”

I face him and kiss him on his lips. “Do you have to ask? Shoot.”

“Will you go out on a date with me?”

I bark out laughing. “Don’t you think it’s too late for that? You already fuck me, marry me, why ask me out?” I bite my bottom lip and smile. Jesus, he’s so beautiful.

“We can go out for a dinner date even we fuck and even we’re married. I just want to take you on a proper date.” He kisses me so soft and tender that makes me wet and ache for him once again.

Crap. I’m so horny. “Of course, I’d love to go out on a date with you. Where are you taking me?”

“Just wear something comfortable. We have a few walks to take, so definitely no high heels.”

“Fine. No heels. Sebastian, can I tell you something?” I look at him in his beautiful eyes.

“Of course, Abby. You can tell me everything.”

I bite my lip before I take a deep breath and start. “I’ve been dreaming or more likely a nightmare when I was in my parent’s home.” I pause. “It never happened to me before. So, it’s like a bad dream. I was kidnapped, tied on the chair, and um, beaten. My hands were tied behind my back, and my ankles were tied too. He keeps saying that I’ve grown up into a fine woman, Mackenzie.” I don’t realize I’m crying till Seb wipes my tears away.

“Baby, you can stop if it’s too hard for you.” He kisses my forehead. “I promise you with my life, Abbygail. I won’t let that happen to you. I’ll keep you safe. Do you understand me, my love?”

I nod.

“There is something in my dreams that bothers me though. The next night was worse. I was still sitting on the chair, then he said that I’m going to have company soon. I can’t see him, and I don’t recognize his voice either as if it’s dubbed. All I can only see is his silhouette.” I sniff and cry. He sits on the bed and cuddles me into his lap, his fingers soothing my back as I continue crying in his chest.

“The next dream was there was already a man sitting in front of me, tied and beaten. He has blood all over his face, Sebastian.” My shoulders are shaking. It’s hard to picture out while I am so terrified that it might come true. I can’t let that happen. As long as Seb is with me, there’s a possibility that it might happen to both of us.

“Hush, baby. Nothing’s gonna happen like that. I promise you, Abby. And it breaks my heart to see you like this. I’d do anything in my power to keep you safe. It’s just a bad dream, baby. Just a bad dream.”

“No, Sebastian. It’s not just a bad dream, the man was beaten there has long black hair, and I saw his face.” I hug him so tight “It’s you in there, Sebastian. I see how you look at me in the eye. Your gray eyes.”

“Baby, I’m so sorry that you have to go through this. I’m so sorry. I wish I can help it go away. I wish I can take all your nightmares away from you. I love you so much, Abbygail. I love you.”

“That’s why I have to leave you there in your apartment. I have no plan on coming back here soon. I have plan canceling my summer classes.”

“Then why did you leave me and take summer classes? We could spend time together, baby. I want to take you outside the country for our honeymoon. Not like this that I can only come here on the weekend, and it’s killing me not to see you every day.”

“You don’t get it, Sebastian. I want you to stay away from me, and it’s killing me too, but I can’t allow that to happen to you, Sebastian. It would kill if something happens to you because of me. I can’t handle another loss. I’ve just lost Mom. I can’t afford to lose another person I love so much. I can’t afford to lose you.”

He freezes. “What did you say? What did you say, Abbygail Catherine? Did you just say you can’t afford to lose me? Do you love me, Abbygail? Do you love me? Say it again, please? I wanna hear it again.” He cups my face and looks at me in the eye.

I nod, sniff, and bite my lip. “I love you, Sebastian. So much.” I can see the happiness in his eyes the moment I say those words. I kiss his lips softly, and he kisses me back slowly. The moment our tongues meet, I position myself and take him all inside me.

Our body ignites into a thousand fireworks. I ride him hard, and he meets each thrust. I’m so stretched. When he thrusts hard, he hits something that makes my head swim with pleasure, and I came so hard.

He grabs my hips and comes inside me. “Don’t do that again, Abby.”

I tense, and he’s still inside. “Don’t do what? Fuck you? Isn’t it what you like? A free fuck?” I just admitted to him I love him. And this whole nightmare thing is messing up my head.

“Baby, what’s going on in your huge brain? What I mean is don’t leave me alone to think it’ll keep me safe. I’ll be the one to keep you safe, I promise you. And nothing’s going to happen to me. I promise to take care of myself. I don’t want you to worry about me. It’s just a dream—a bad dream. Let’s get a shower, and your promise.”

I roll my eyes.

“I love you, Abbygail.”

I choose a simple crop top, short shorts, and ballet shoes. I tie my hair in a bun. Seb’s wearing a casual today. His hair is messy in a stylish way, and he still looks yummy. I get my purse and slip my phone inside.

“Ready, gorgeous?” He kisses my head.

“Always for you, bad boy.”

“Back to the bad boy. I see.” We interlaced our fingers while walking to my car. Lincoln and the twin are already waiting in the SUV.

“You dress like a bad boy, minus the ink. And you look yummy with your hair like this. “ I run my fingers through his hair after I buckle my seatbelt.

“I love your hair too, and I love the way you grab my hair.”

I burst out laughing. I might blush a little as I look outside the window.

“Don’t hide your beautiful face from me. It’s cute when you blushed, you know.”

“I don’t wanna know, Sebastian. Don’t mention anything like that when we’re in the car. I don’t wanna get punished for misbehavior.”

“And I’m enjoying a lot when you pay.”

“You corrupted me, silly.” We laugh, and it feels good to loosen up a bit.

“So, where are we going?”

“I just wanna walk with you in the park, and I want us to experience like an ordinary couple on a date.”

I’m astounded by this place.

I missed a lot of fun, I get that. I also missed being an ordinary teenager who has so much fun. I did not get a chance to experience it. Now that I’m a married woman, I feel left behind. Just this beautiful garden around me makes me weep.

“I see. You haven’t been to this place.”

“I never went far to this place. This is beautiful. Thank you.” I hug his arm.

“It’s nothing, Abby, I just want to spend time with you. I can’t keep you all by myself alone in bed. You’re welcome.”

We walk around until I spot the most beautiful flower bed—red tulips. I remember my mom.

“So, you’d never miss that, huh?” He looks so amused when I touch the beautiful flowers.

“Just shut up. They look gorgeous. Come here. husband” I fish out my phone from my purse then press the camera app on my phone.

“Let’s take a selfie. Say, cheese.”

“See? They’re beautiful.” I show him the picture I took.

“Not as beautiful as you.” He winks at me.

“Let’s go find them.” We spot them sitting at the small picnic table.

“Abby, sit beside me.”

Trixie waves her hand and taps the space beside her.

“You look beautiful, Abby. Does he gives you enough sleep?”

I blush so deeply. It’s embarrassing like everyone knows what we do.

“Abby baby, you look hot,” Patrick teases me and looks at Sebastian.

“You look hot yourself, Patty. How’s your day?” I grin. “Hi Lincoln, how did you find Boston so far?”

“Hello, Mrs. Hughes. Great place.”

“Baby, aren’t you going to ask me how am I liking Boston so far?”

I stare at my husband. “I already know your answer, Sebastian. I might see you coming over here often.”

“Someone will pay for this.” He gives me a warning look.

“I’d love to pay more.” I don’t know where my confidence comes from, but I like this new me.

“I like your Abby baby, Seb.” Patrick taps Seb’s back.

“Fuck off.”

“Abby, why don’t you just stay with Seb? You can transfer to college next semester?” Trix asks. Seb clears his throat, warning Trixie to drop the subject.

“Seb over here didn’t invite me to stay with him. So, I’ll just stay here in Boston.” I can see from the corner of my eye, his eyes narrow in my direction.

“Seb? Abbygail, let me remind you that you left while I was sleeping and never called or texted her husband.”

“Oh, you left him alone? And you didn’t call him. That’s harsh for a new couple.” Trix looks at me with a surprised look on her face.

“Yeah, I did. He didn’t call or text me either,” I defend myself.

“Well, don’t do that again, Abby baby. Sebby over there will eat all his employees alive and whole. That’s why we came to the rescue to win you back and got my nose punched instead.” Patrick touches his healing nose.

“Good for you. Say like that again—”

Patrick raises his hand for surrender. “Got the memo, man. One punch is enough.”

“So, are you coming back with us?” Trix looks hopeful.

I eye Sebastian who is staring at me and waiting for my answer.

“I can’t, but I’ll visit there whenever I can.”

“Oh, that’s sad. How about Seb?” She pouts her lips.

“What about him? He’ll live,” I answer dismissively, but I bite my lip not to smile. Someone kicks me under the table.

“You mean, after this. Both of you will go back to your own?”

“Jesus. Stop it, Trix.” Then he points his finger at me. “You, Abbygail. We’re gonna have a long talk.”

I look at him with my innocent look. “We’ll talk then.”

I look around until I spot my new neighbors. “Hi!” I wave at them, and they wave back.

“Who are you talking to, Abbygail?” My husband asks and looks irritated.

“They’re my neighbors. Jeez.” I motion them to come, and they’re coming to us.

“Hey, Abby. I don’t know you’d be here,” says Mason. He’s in his mid-twenties, an inch shorter than Seb with brown hair, and blue eyes. Logan is the same height as Seb, but with a pack of muscles like the Rock, trimly cut hair, brown eyes, and maybe in his early thirties.

“Didn’t expect to see both of you either.” I smile at both of them and seem friendly.

“Oh, this is Seb. My husband, over there, are Patrick and Patricia, Seb’s cousins.”

They shake everyone’s hand. I notice the look of Trix and Mason’s. They look surprised, but there’s something like instant attractions with each other, and as if they’re ready to tackle each other. I might have gasped to see their reactions.

Trix looks down, then back at me.

“Baby, are you okay?” I look at Seb quickly.

“Yeah. Why did you ask?”

“You look surprised.” I widen my smile.

“Oh, I’m great.”
