29 CAUGHT IN THE ACT

We had dinner all together, including Mason and Logan. I feel guilty for keeping it from Abby. I already meet them before picking up Abby from school. After dinner, we decide to spend some time in her apartment. I invited Andrew, but he has other plans. Mason and Logan went to their apartment and Lincoln tag along with them.

“I like him,” Trix blurts out of the blue while searching for some TV shows to watch. My wife is already sitting beside her. Pat and I are sitting across the two.

“You like who, Patricia?” asks Pat who already looks irritated.

“That Mason dude. He looks hot,” Trix says.

“You like everyone has a dick, Trixie, and he’s way out of your league. Stay away from him.” Pat snorts.

Trixie never dated anyone after what happened with her last boyfriend. She may have a few one-night stands, but nothing serious.

“You and Seb fuck everyone has a vagina, yet I didn’t say anything.” She glares at her twin.

“Watch your words while you are in Abby’s apartment, Trixie. I didn’t fuck everyone has a vagina. I have standard, and that was before.” I look at Abby who doesn’t seem affected by Trixie’s banter. I release a sigh. The last thing I want is to upset my wife about my past.

“Oops. Sorry, Abby. He’s out of my league. That’s what makes him hot and interesting.”

“Not a problem, Trix. I love Sebastian, and I’m aware of his past. I agree with you. He’s hot,” Abby agrees and bumps her shoulder to Trixie.

“Excuse me, wife? Did you just say Mason is hot?” I glare at her.

I know she’s just messing with me, but I can’t shut my mouth up when my wife compliments other guys. I have to fire that asswipe.

“You don’t appreciate his looks because you’re a man. He’s a panty-melting dude.” Abby and Trixie giggle together while I and Pat exchange looks.

“Panty-melting dude, huh? Are you sure, Abbygail that you mean it what you said that you love me?” I’m starting to get pissed, joke or not, it’s not funny anymore. I can’t watch my woman giggling about another dude. No fucking way.

“Yes. Bad boy, I love you. Don’t worry, you’re way hotter. I mean you’re the hottest, The sexiest billionaire.” She arches her brow. Great! So, she’d seen it.

She comes to me, sits in my lap, and gives me the loudest kiss of all time. The twin eww in unison, but I don’t give a fuck. I think that’s hot. I never had a PDA before, only with Abby.

“If both of you fall in love, I know you can’t keep your hands off of each other. I’ll say eww too,” Abby says to the twin and giggle “Right babe?”

I kiss her nose. “Yup.”

“Jesus, never once in my life, I imagine Seb will be this pussy-whipped.” Pat rolls his eyes.

“You won’t know until you fall in love, Patty. It comes to you when you least expected it. You just wake up one day, finding out you’re in love. You can’t sleep at night, thinking of her. You also think of her upon waking up in the morning and going to sleep at night.” My wife giggles more in my lap. Trix gives her a high-five while Pat isn’t look amused at all.

“You’re just jealous. Seb is happily married and in love. You, on the other hand, no one loves you, and no one is sitting in your lap. Period,” Trix says.

Patrick stiffens in his seat. About a few years ago, he’s about to propose to her girlfriend by surprising a visit to her apartment. Only to find out, she’s riding another cock in her room.

Abby notices the discomfort on his face, and I didn’t say anything. I wrap my arms around her and press herself into me.

“Sorry, Pat. That was way out of line,” Trix apologizes.

“It’s fine, sis. That was a long time ago,” Pat says.

Trixie starts scanning some magazines on the coffee table when she didn’t find something interesting to watch.

“I’ll get us some refreshments, babe.” Abby stands up from my lap.

“I would love to help you, Abby baby.” Patrick stands up and follows her to the kitchen.

“I didn’t find any gossips magazine here. How did Abby know about you, Seb?” Trix is flipping pages on the magazine when she finds it interesting.

“She has no idea who I am when I first meet her,” I explain.

“Really? She doesn’t have any idea who Seb Hughes is? Impossible.” She looks surprised

“Abby is a nerd. She’s not interested in gossips, especially dirty gossips. I’m her first date, boyfriend, kiss, and the first man in her life.”

“Are you kidding me? Un-fucking-believable, but she’s hot. How didn’t she even date? I’m sure there were hot guys here in Boston. She’s a virgin?” Her brows furrow.

Ugh! Abby will kick my ass now.

“Who’s a virgin?” Pat emerges, carrying some beer in his hand. Shit!

“No one, Pat,” Trix answers.

Thank god. My wife carries a few chips and sits beside me after kissing me on my head. Sweet Abby.

“Who’s Mackenzie?” Trixie asks.

I freeze in my seat. I can feel Abby stiffen in her seat, too. I see Trix holding a white envelope in her hand.

“Don’t tell me the same Mackenzie—”

I cut her off. “Where did you get this?” I grab the envelope from her.

“Here. Tuck in the magazine. Why?”

I look at her and look to Abby who’s now holding her chest and as pale as if she’d seen a ghost. Her eyes are wide, and she starts to paint. Shit!

“Baby, are you okay?” She shakes her head but doesn’t say anything. “Baby, come here. No one will hurt you, I promise. I’m here with you. Please, say something.” I take her hand to sit in my lap again.

She rests her head on my shoulder and starts to sob. I try to calm her down as I rub her back and kiss her head.

“What did I miss? Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry, Abby if I upset you, I didn’t mean it.”

Trix tells Abby and looks confused about what had just happened.

It fucking kills me to see her like this. I want to do something, but I don’t know where to start. This psychopath who played hide and seek with her makes me what to kill someone. It’s so frustrating, and it breaks my heart.

“What’s going on, Seb?” Patrick finally asks.

“Not now, Pat. Please.”

“Baby, talk to me.” She’s wiping her tears from her face.

I cup her face and kiss her lips. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to help. Tell me, baby.” I look at her glassy green eyes. I open the envelope with her name written on it.

She snatches from me before I can read what’s written inside, then she stands up. “Don’t open it. It’s not mine,” she denies.

“Abbygail, give that back to me, and I want to see what’s inside, or that’s another creepy message sent to you.”

She glares at me. Shit. This is not good. I just blurted out that I knew about the creepy note.

“What another creepy message you’re talking about?”

“You tell me, Abby. You seem so very secretive.” Fuck me. Did I just say that?

“Secretive about what?” She starts to raise her voice.

“Will you two calm down?” Patrick motions his hand to the two of us.

“Shut up, Patty. I don’t mean to disrespect you, but this is between me and my husband.” She turns to face me again. “What another creepy message you’re talking about, Sebastian?” She’s very persistent.

“Oh yeah. You missed a few details, Abbygail. After leaving my apartment that morning, you almost collapsed when Lincoln found you because some creepy asshole stalker slipped a note on the wiper of your car. Do I have to tell what note says, or do you still remember it?” They gasp in unison.

“Is that the reason why you didn’t bother talking to me? Is it the reason you’re trying to stay away from me? To keep me safe and put yourself in danger? Did you even tell your dad about it, my dear Abbygail? Jesus, is this what you do to keep all the people you love away from danger? By hiding something that could kill you? Don’t try to be a hero, Abby. We can help each other, and I am here now. Think about your dad. What is he gonna do if something bad happens to you again? You’re the only one he has. Think about me, about Andrew, Trix, and Patty. We care about you, and it would kill me. I don’t wanna lose you. I still have a lot of things I want to do with you. We’ve just started. I wanna spend my whole life with you and have a family. How can I do all of that if all you want is to push me away? Please, let me help, and let us do it together.” I offer my hand. “Give me that note, Abby, please?” Everyone is silent, and all I can hear is her cry. I just make her cry again. What have I just done to her?

She hands me the note. I pull her into my arms, hug her so tight, and bury my face in her hair.

“That was quite a speech, Hughes.”

“Patrick, fuck off! This is not a joke!” I warn him while Trix stays silent.

“Sorry,” he murmurs.

“You don’t have to see the message, baby.” I open the envelope in front of her. “How long have you had that Magazine?”

“I bought it on Monday after school.”

You let him fuck you, Mackenzie. He will pay for it.

My eyes widen. My blood boils in my veins. My chest tightens, and I can’t breathe. Now I’m involved. He’s following her everywhere. Fuck!

She gasps, too, and has the same reaction as mine. I hug her, and my heart is still beating so fast. I can’t do anything.

I squeeze my eyes shut and feel her. My hands are still trembling.

“I’ll get some water.” Trixie finally finds her words. She stands up and moves to the kitchen.

“Whatever is going on, I know this is serious. I’m here if you need anything,” Patrick offers.

I stand up and fish out my phone to call her dad.

“Mike, there’s another envelope inside her magazines with another note. It tells something about me and Abby. I’ll see what I can do with this. This is not funny anymore.”

“Where is she? If he found out where she is right now, then she’s not safe there anymore. I might have to inform the authority about it.” Mike sounds tense from the other line.

“She’s with me, and she’s not going anywhere this time. She’s still shocked, though. I need to call Lincoln, but I keep you posted. I’ll let you talk to her when she calms down a bit.”

“Please, take care of her. I’ll keep in touch.”

Trixie gives her a glass of water. “Take this, Abby. Everything will be fine.” She kisses Abby’s head. It melts my heart to see my girls helping each other.

I dial Linc, “Lincoln, bring me those two assholes here. Now!” I bark, and I just startle Abby.

I dial Andrew. Shit. This isn’t good, but if he’s doing his job, this note wouldn’t be here. I walk away from the living room to her room after kissing her head.

“Andrew, what the fuck are you doing? How did she have another note here in her fucking apartment if you kept an eye on her? Or are you just busy fucking around, and you can’t do your job, anymore?” I purse my lips. I’m disappointed by the people who are supposed to be protecting her.

“What note? I’m doing my job, man. I don’t know how did that note get in there. I was with her all the time. And I’m the one with her when you’re not around.” Andrew sounds pissed.

“Tell me how did someone slip the note? Abby reads that magazine. If the envelope was there when she bought it, then she must have noticed it. What if someone came here to her apartment and put it inside the magazine? How about the alarm? The fucking security system you installed? What’s going on? I paid your company to look over this, Jennings. If you put Abby’s life in danger again, I will end your career, and I will destroy you! I’ll make sure to end your friendship with her, and I will let her dad fire you. Do you fucking understand me, Jennings?”

“I understood. I’m on my way,” Jennings answers right away.

“Good.” I end the call.

“What do you mean you’ll end his career? Did you just threaten my friendship with Drew? And You will let dad fire him? What Drew has to do with all of these, Sebastian?”

I freeze in my place. Fuck. Is this misery never end? How can I lie to her? She’s going to be more pissed when she figures out that I lie to her again. I’m going to fuck this up.

I can’t lie to her anymore, and it will break her heart when she figures out, but I can’t tell her right now. Jesus, what should I do?
