The acts of Aynea
Same.
"Tahni. What are you doing here?"
He asked walking towards her, as she finally fought herself off the rude Miargos. She flung herself into his arms and he held unto her for a while. There were a lot of thoughts pacing his mental ken. One of them was the fact that he never thought that any one was missing him. At least not his other daughter. He had thought that she had taken after her mother and wouldn't give a damn about him. But it seemed that he was wrong. Like he was about Prium. But he hoped that Tahni's love was the family type not an illusion like her sister's.
"I've been worried about you father. I thought something evil had happened to you. I couldn't help thinking of the evil mother did to you. I'm sorry that I couldn't help you, save you from the cruel judgement. But I'm so glad that you're alive. I don't care how. I'm glad."
She said raising her head to see his face. But then she looked away from him to see Aynea and the princess. She couldn't help the feeling. She gently let go of Vulcan and said,
"You...and you?!"
She turned to her father again,
"How did you get to meet them? What are you doing with this princess? Don't you know her father? She was the one who made the king sentence you to such cruel judgement. Don't tell me that you've forgiven him."
She was trying to catch her breath as Vulcan put his left palm on her cheek and said,
"I felt like throwing her in a pool, drowning her and making her pay for it, but then I realized that we've all been fooled. Twas all the plot of your mother. If the princess had said a thing that day, twould had been her word against the king and his chiefs. Which was close to treason."
Tahni didn't seem convinced and she didn't hide it,
"Yet, we can't trust her. The thought of any other evil thing happening to you is what I can't bear. I can't think of l--"
"She carries a baby. The princess is pregnant."
Vulcan interrupted and Tahni kept mute. You'd think that those words had put the argument in her and had ripped it too.
She hurried to the princess quickly and hugged her tightly, then held her face in her hands saying,
"Oh, babies. I love babies. A boy or girl? Take care of him or her. I'm sorry to had been harsh. Please forgive me."
Not only Vulcan was puzzled by her change of attitude but everyone there. Most importantly the princess. She only held unto Tahni for a while then let go. She said to Tahni,
"I'm sorry to had caused you any pain. I couldn't bear the thought too. Knowing that someone was condemned to die because of me. And the allegation was nothing but a sham. I should be the one apologizing."
Tahni snapped,
"No! You don't have to. For the sake of your baby. I don't care."
The princess smiled. She didn't know when a drop of tears rolled hastily down her cheek. Tahni cleaned it with her right thumb and kissed the princess gently in the lips. Then she hugged her again.
"Be happy."
Vulcan looked away from the two. The drama was getting too much for him to contain. He peered at Miargos, who had been standing there all along like a statue.
"What is he doing here?"
He asked,as Tahni wounded her arm around the Princess's waist and said,
"Prium. He keeps saying that he loves her."
Vulcan walked towards Miargos and held him in the chest, aiding his grasp with the fellow's robe,
"Go now. Go tell your chiefs and the rest that you've found Vulcan again. Let them come and behead me again."
Mairgos didn't fight back. Twas hard to tell what his real intentions were. He said,
"Even I have lost my father to this brawl and strife. I won't want anyone killed or destroyed by those evil chiefs anymore. Now I am awake. Awaken from my slumber. Awaken into the light of love. Whose course I hereby pursue diligently. Even till the last of my breath."
Aynea on the other hand was tired of the scene of the mortals. She walked away from all of them towards the next large tree, few metres away from where they all were.
"Where are you going?"
Vulcan called at Aynea and pushed Miargos away. The latter fell on his back and the princess went to his aid.
Aynea didn't stop to answer the hurrying Vulcan. Vulcan caught up with her finally and held unto one of her hairy arms,
"You have to tell me what you are up to."
He said, as he spun her around. She stared at him for a while, her sleek eyelids flapping gently. He didn't allow that to get to him. Aynea said,
"Aynea be go to her house."
Vulcan snapped immediately,
"You must be joking. We just left your house, which is that way..."
He pointed towards the direction of Tahni and the rest. He continued,
"That other tree doesn't belong to you anymore. You can't do a thing about it. I have people I care about there. You can't stop them from living there. For fuck sake be contented with what you have."
He paused trying to catch the reaction of Aynea but he was disappointed. The dryad didn't say a thing.
She fought her arm free instead and kept waking towards the tree. The other lot were coming behind them.
Vulcan wouldn't give up too. He kept walking briskly to catch up with her again chanting,
"What will you do now? Kill them? I'm talking to you, dryad! Don't act all deaf."
He said as he got to her again and held her arm. She flung that arm he held and it felt like a rock just hit Vulcan. He was thrown into the air and landed few metres away from Aynea.
"Father."
Tahni screamed and ran towards her groaning father. But that wasn't enough to stop Aynea. She kept on walking towards the base of the tree. The tree which housed Prium and Ayla.
