An Affair
After two days of finishing work at Liverpool, Mario was attacked by an intense longing for Aurora. Almost every free time he uses to call or just send messages, asking how his wife is in London.
Even though he knows that Aurora hates every call, Mario doesn't care. He kept calling just to remind me to eat and take vitamins. Just like a few minutes ago, after finishing work and cleaning up, the first thing Mario did was call Aurora.
"The important thing is don't forget to take your vitamins."
"How many times do I have to tell you, Mario. I'm not a child. You don't need to remind me over and over," Aurora protested. As usual, she always grumbled when her husband reminded her to eat and take vitamins before going to bed.
"It can't be helped. I was happy to remind you."
"Then where did you hide my doll and blanket?" Aurora asked then.
"Good grief!"
While continuing to hold the cell phone, Mario patted his forehead lightly. He had completely forgotten to tell Aurora about the blanket and the woman's favorite doll that he had washed before leaving for Liverpool.
"I'm sorry. I really forgot to tell you. Before leaving, I did ask Samantha to wash your two favorite things. They seem to be in the cupboard. You can check them before you go to bed."
"Yes, then. I want to rest. You just continue your activities there."
"Fine. I'll end this call. Good night. Sorry if tonight I can't massage your back or legs as usual. I hope you can sleep well tonight."
"No need to worry, Mario. I'm fine."
"Then have a good night, honey."
Mario just kept smiling after ending his phone call. Every time he finished contacting Aurora, for some reason his heart always filled with flowers. Even though his wife never said good things or replied to the romantic words he conveyed.
Putting aside the feeling of happiness for a moment, Mario contacted Alexius this time. While away, he did ask Sophia's bodyguard to help keep an eye on Aurora. Not out of disbelief, but more on guard for fear that something would happen to his wife if she wasn't there.
"Hello, Alexius," said Mario from behind his phone call.
"Good evening, sir. How may I help you?" asked Alexius curiously.
"How is my wife doing there? Is she all right? I mean, did anything untoward happen during my stay?"
"Nothing," said Alexius. "Everything is running normally. Mrs. Aurora also always goes to and from work accompanied by a driver. Sometimes Mr. Tristan or Raphael joins us."
"Thank goodness then. Did my wife go out while I was there?" asked Mario curiously.
"Nothing so far. Only yesterday I went to the dress shop with Mrs Sophia."
"Ah, that's it. Yes, then. Please help keep an eye on Aurora while I'm not around. If my wife misbehaves or goes out secretly alone, please escort her or follow her without her knowledge. Make sure she reaches her destination safely."
"Ready, sir. I will carry out your order."
Finished contacting Alexius, Mario then rose from his seat. Intending to leave the room and go to the restaurant on the ground floor to enjoy dinner.
However, before he had time to change his clothes, suddenly there was a knock on the door from outside. Mario then chose to open the door first and found the figure of Angelina, a work partner who had indeed left for Liverpool with him.
"Angelina?"
"Good evening, Mister Mario. Sorry for disturbing your recess."
"No problem," Mario said kindly. "What's wrong? Do you need something? Or is there something important you want to tell me?"
The woman called Angelina nodded. With a friendly smile, he answered the question Mario had asked.
"Earlier, I wanted to give this food."
Angelina then handed over a paper bag containing a food box that she specially brought for Mario.
“Besides…” Angelina continued. "I need Mr. Mario's signature for the files I have to send tonight."
Mario nodded in understanding. After grabbing a box of food, the man invited Angelina to enter his hotel room for a moment. Then asked his work partner to wait for a while in the guest chair, while he signed the files that Angelina had brought and handed over.
"Here. I signed everything."
"Thank you," said Angelina as she reached for the file Mario handed back to her.
"No need to be shy. Now you can go back to your room."
For a few seconds, the two of them were silent. Mario was made even more surprised when Angelina never moved from the place where the woman was sitting. In fact, Mario considers his needs have been completed.
"Is there still something missing? Or is there something else I should do?" asked Mario curiously.
"Can I just stay here?" asked Angelina.
Mario raised an eyebrow as he was busy watching Angelina's movements. The woman who had been sitting, was now standing.
"Don't we already have our own rooms? After all, work matters are done, right?"
Angelina nodded.
"I know that, sir. But may I accompany Mr. Mario tonight? Honestly, I've been attracted to you for a long time."
Good grief!
Mario was cursing in his heart. He really didn't expect Angelina to be brave like now.
"No thanks, Angelina. Just so you know, I already have a wife. So just keep your interest in check."
Hearing Mario's explanation, Angelina immediately shook her head. The woman seemed not to believe what Mario said. Of course the woman had her doubts, in fact no one in the office knew about Mario being married to Aurora.
"Lies. Don't use such tricks to turn me down, sir."
"I'm not lying one bit," Mario replied. The man then extended his right hand. Showing a beautiful pinned wedding ring on her ring finger. "If you don't believe me, you can see this ring, proof that I am indeed married."
Angelina didn't care. Ignoring the information Mario passed on, the woman responded back.
"I don't care if you have a wife. We can have fun tonight without anyone finding out."
Angelina then stepped forward. Trying to approach the position where Mario was standing.
However, when the two of them were so close, Mario swiftly grabbed Angelina's wrist. Pulling hard, then dragged the woman to get out of the room.
"Thank you very much for the offer, Angelina. But you need to know, I'm not the type of guy who likes cheap women like this. I pretend tonight never existed. If you dare to bother me again tomorrow, don't blame me if you can't work again at Exon."
Mario seconds later immediately closed the bedroom door with a bang. Rubbing his face in exasperation while still thinking, why can't even face such an unpleasant situation.
***
Today is Mario's last day at Liverpool. After finishing all the work this afternoon, in the afternoon he decided to immediately return to London. Should be tomorrow's schedule to go home. But because he missed too much and wanted to give Aurora a surprise, Mario chose to go home early secretly.
As soon as he arrived at Liverpool airport, Mario first confirmed his wife's whereabouts via telephone. Counting the time, when he gets home.
Spending about 3 hours in the air, Mario finally arrived in London at seven in the evening. Before actually going home, he deliberately stopped briefly at one of Aurora's regular cake shops to buy her a box of cheesecake. Mario knew very well that the young woman really liked this one cake. And when pregnant like now, Aurora prefers to eat cake than other snacks.
After he managed to pack a box of cakes, Mario impatiently asked the driver to take him home immediately. As soon as they got home, there was Samanta who looked surprised to welcome him.
"Sir, you're home already? Don't I know your return schedule is tomorrow?"
Mario flashed a smile. Handing over the cake box in his hand to Samanta, the man walked in while answering the household assistant's question.
"Yes, you're right. I should have just returned to London tomorrow. But since all the work was done and I couldn't wait to meet Aurora, I decided to go home today," explained the man at length. Turning towards Samanta, this time Mario asked a question. "Where's my wife? Is she asleep yet?"
Samantha fell silent. His face suddenly turned worried. He knew very well that the female figure Mario was looking for was not in the room. So, what should he answer now.
"Mistress Aurora..."
"Yes? Is my wife in the room?"
Taking a gulp of his spit, Samanta seemed to have a hard time answering the easy questions Mario threw at him. "Your wife is not in the room, sir," Samanta squeaked timidly.
"Not in the room? Then where? Is Aurora out with Sophia? I had contacted her on the way earlier and she said she wanted to sleep immediately after finishing dinner."
"Your wife didn't go with Mrs Sophia."
"What? Then where did Aurora go?"
Samantha immediately shook her head. It couldn't be helped, he really didn't know where Aurora had gone tonight.
"Before, I did see Mrs. Aurora wearing a dress like someone who was going to a party. I had forbidden her. But Mrs. Aurora didn't care one bit. Regarding where she was going, I'm really sorry if I didn't know one bit, sir." Samanta explained it at length. There was a tone full of regret tucked into his sentence because he couldn't help telling Mario where his wife was.
While Mario, who panicked, chose to enter the room and indeed did not find Aurora there. He then went back outside. With frantic feelings, he tried to contact Aurora several times, but it seemed as if the woman's cell phone had been turned off on purpose.
Until not how long, suddenly Alexius was there. As if he understood what was going on, the well-built man immediately approached and then reprimanded Mario.
"Are you looking for Mrs. Aurora?"
Mario who had been downcast immediately looked up. Reflex immediately stood up from his seat then nodded.
"Yes, Alexius. I'm looking for Aurora. Have you seen my wife?"
Alexius nodded confidently.
"I know where your wife is, sir. Earlier, when I found out that your wife was out and even picked up by someone else, according to my orders, she immediately followed from a distance until I finally found out where Mrs. Aurora was going tonight."
"Can you take me right now?" asked Mario hopefully.
"Yes. Let's go now."
Mario and Alexius hurriedly walked towards the car. That second also immediately followed until finally arriving at the Picadelli Hotel. Full of confidence, Alexius guided Mario to enter and then went to one of the bars in the hotel.
Both of them tried to find Aurora's whereabouts, until not long after, Mario's brown eyes noticed his wife sitting in a corner of the room with another man.
Mario tightened his jaw. With a look of disapproval he walked over to her. Especially when he was not far from Aurora's position, he could see how his wife's interlocutor seemed to be deliberately looking for opportunities to kiss Aurora.
Full of emotion Mario is getting closer. Bringing his hand then grabbed firmly the collar of the coat that the man was wearing, preparing to beat him.
