Forgive Me, Please
"Let's just wait. In the near future, Mrs. Aurora will surely regain her senses. We just need to wait for the time."
After carrying out a series of examinations, Aurora was finally transferred to the treatment room in an unconscious state. Tristan, who realized that Sophia was pregnant and was afraid that his wife would be tired, chose to visit for a while. After making sure that Aurora's condition was stable, he went home and handed Aurora over to Mario.
Initially, Raphael himself insisted on waiting until Aurora regained consciousness. However, at Mario's persuasion, the man returned with a heavy heart and promised to return tomorrow morning.
"Papa don't worry, I'll take care of Aurora here."
"But, Mario. Papa ----"
"Take it easy, Pa," interrupted Mario quickly. "I promise I won't leave Aurora for a second. So, it's better for Papa to just rest at home. If anything happens, I'll definitely contact him right away."
Seeing the sincerity in Mario, Raphael finally gave in and obeyed. After all, Mario had the right to look after Aurora because he was the husband of the princess. Even Raphael is sure that Mario will definitely do the best for Aurora.
When Raphael left, Mario chose to sit and wait right beside Aurora's bed. He grabbed her wrist and held it tightly. Occasionally seen kissing softly while staring closely. Until not long, the words softly floated from his lips.
"I'm sorry, Aurora. I know you're doing this because you want attention from me. Either way, I'm doing this to make you aware."
Mario took a deep breath. This time his hand reached out to gently caress Aurora's cold cheek.
"For God's sake, it hurts me to see you like this. You think I'm not sad? Even though you've never treated me well, I've always sincerely cared for and loved you. You think I don't miss seeing you? You think I don't miss massaging, making sure you fall asleep soundly, what else is the moment of stealing the opportunity to be able to hug you while sleeping."
Those last words made Mario smile bitterly. Months of being married, even sleeping in the same bed, side by side, but Aurora still doesn't let Mario touch her for no reason. There was not the slightest sense of liking what else Aurora showed Mario even though the woman was clearly pregnant with the man's baby.
So, with all the bad treatment, Mario gave up? No. The man was even more active and tried to conquer Aurora's heart.
And now?
When all the sacrifices he made were rewarded with betrayal, should Mario just forgive Aurora's actions?
In fact, even though he has been disappointed, Mario's love for Aurora has not diminished. It's just that Mario thought he still had to teach Aurora a lesson.
"Once again I'm sorry," muttered Mario softly. "I have to do this," he said then kissed Aurora's forehead for a long time.
While Aurora was still sound asleep and had not awakened in the slightest, Mario faithfully accompanied her all night. Occasionally he gently massaged Aurora's wrists or feet alternately. When he was getting tired, Mario chose to sleep by leaning his head on the side of the bed.
The next day, when he woke up, Mario found Aurora unconscious. While looking at his wife's face, Mario prayed in his heart that Aurora would open her eyes soon and her condition would return to normal.
It was as if the prayer he had just said had been immediately answered by God. A few minutes later, Mario saw clearly how his wife's fingers were slowly moving. Believing that Aurora was gradually regaining consciousness, Mario briefly kissed Aurora on the lips and then ran outside to find the nurse on duty.
Doctors and other medical teams immediately arrived to check and observe Aurora's condition. Meanwhile Mario was asked to wait outside the room.
"Mario, what happened?" asked Raphael moments after the man arrived in front of the treatment room.
"Aurora just woke up, Pa."
Raphael's eyes widened. At that moment, his feelings were mixed.
"Is it true?"
Mario nodded repeatedly.
"I'm sure, Pa. I saw clearly how Aurora's fingers moved repeatedly. It looks like this time she will really wake up from her sleep."
Although the doctor had yet to give an official statement, there was a clear relief printed on Raphael's face. The man strongly confirmed what his son-in-law had just said about the princess's condition.
"Hopefully, Mario. Papa hopes Aurora will get better soon and be back to normal like before. It's so sad to see her in this state."
"I also hope the same, Pa," said Mario. "I couldn't even sleep for fear that Aurora would suddenly wake up in the middle of the night. But thank goodness this morning she actually responded."
In the end, after about thirty minutes of waiting in front of the room, the examining doctor finally came out. Mario and Raphael immediately approached to hear firsthand what information the doctor was going to convey.
"How is my wife, doctor?" asked Mario impatiently.
"Your wife's condition has gradually improved. Currently, she is even 100% conscious and is now in recovery. The baby in her womb is confirmed to be in good condition too."
"Oh my God, thank goodness."
This time, it was Raphael who answered. Thousands of thanks should he recite because God has heard the prayers that he prayed yesterday for the safety of the princess.
"Then, can we see him soon?"
"Please. After this, the family may visit her. Just don't take too long. Give it time first so that Mrs. Aurora can rest a lot and recover all her energy," the doctor explained later.
"Then, according to the doctor, how long must my wife first undergo treatment at the hospital?"
Receiving a question from Mario, the doctor seemed to think for a moment. Consider before finally giving an answer.
"We'll see how his condition develops first. If tomorrow it's getting better, it's possible that the day after tomorrow he can go home. That's why, let the patient undergo intensive treatment first. Later, we'll see what the results will be."
Mario nodded in understanding. Understanding clearly what was described, he also invited the doctor to return to duty.
At the same time, Tristan and Sophia appeared to be visiting again. They also decided to check together directly how Aurora's condition was after she woke up.
***
"Aurora ... are you okay?" asked Sophia when she, Tristan, and her father-in-law chose to enter the treatment room together.
"I'm fine. Only my head still feels a little dizzy," said the woman weakly. From her voice, it was clear that Aurora was still very weak.
"This could be an effect because before
You were unconscious," said Tristan, who was standing right in front of Aurora. "Maybe, after you return to rest, your condition will gradually improve."
"Why are you doing this, Aurora."
Raphael, who was also there, impatiently shot Aurora with questions. He could not stop thinking that his daughter had committed an act that endangered her life and the baby who was also in her womb.
"Pa ..." Tristan scolded then shook his head. "This is not the time to judge, let Aurora recover first."
"It's okay, Tristan," Aurora intervened. "I know what I did this time really went too far. I'm like this because I'm so desperate. Mario doesn't want to forgive me at all."
"If Mario doesn't forgive you, you should find a way to slowly melt his heart. Instead of acting recklessly, let alone short thinking to the point of injuring yourself. Your actions must have gone too far that Mario, who is extraordinarily patient, won't just forgive you."
"Pa ..." called Tristan once again. According to him, if this is not resolved, it will surely escalate. In fact, his father had been very worried. But, why now even so ignited emotions and finally angry. "Come on, stop it. There's no use getting into that now. Let Aurora get well first."
Raphael let out a long sigh as he rubbed his face in exasperation. Actually, he was annoyed by his own daughter's behavior. It's getting harder and harder to control.
"Is Mario not here?" asked Aurora suddenly. Maybe he realized because earlier there was only Sophia, Tristan, and his father in the room.
"There is no Mario here, Aurora," said Tristan then.
"Really? But, why did I feel like he was here before? I even felt someone kissing me when I started to wake up earlier."
"Maybe it was just a dream," Sophia said hastily.
It wasn't without reason that the two of them avoided Mario's presence, who had clearly been waiting for Aurora until the woman regained consciousness. The man himself had asked them all to keep his presence a secret.
"Mario, aren't you coming in?" asked Sophia when they were all invited to visit Aurora, who was fully conscious inside there.
Mario himself shook his head. The man seemed to disinterestedly reject Sophia's invitation.
"No. I'd better go home. I'll let you guys go in and accompany Aurora in there."
"But ----"
"No offense, Pa," Mario cut in quickly. Then he looked closely at his mother-in-law's face. "I deliberately didn't want to meet Aurora in person first. I realized she was doing this all because of the aftermath of my actions that didn't want to accept her apology yesterday. However, I was determined to teach Aurora a lesson first. If only like this I'll immediately forgive him, do not rule out the possibility that in the future he will repeat it with the thought that he can easily get forgiveness from me."
"But, isn't it a pity?" asked Sophia worriedly. He's just afraid that Aurora will again dare to do things that are dangerous.
"Take it easy, honey. I'm sure Mario knows what he's doing. Besides, Aurora really needs to be taught a lesson like this. She's gone too far," confirmed Tristan. It seems very supportive of what Mario will do.
"So you really don't want to meet Aurora?" asked Raphael again.
"No, Pa. Knowing that he's conscious and his condition and our baby is fine, that's more than enough. Just trust me, after this I'll wake him up. For sure, if he asks, just say I'm not willing to come for meet or visit."
Because of Mario's request, everyone agreed to cover up the man's presence. They all agreed with what Mario would do afterwards.
"You didn't tell Mario about my current condition?"
Tristan shook his head. Pulling the corners of his lips, the man gave Aurora an explanation.
"I've tried contacting her, Aurora. Only, Mario refuses to come and meet you. It can't be helped. I can't keep pushing him."
Aurora's throat felt constricted. He couldn't stop thinking that Mario really hated and no longer cared about him. In fact, the man used to always chase him. So now? Should he who begs be forgiven?
