Like a Dream
After receiving information from Sophia that Aurora was taking a midday break, Mario, who had finished some of his work, intended to visit. Together with Tristan, the two of them rushed to the Santa Monica hospital.
Not to forget, before actually arriving, Mario stopped first at one of the restaurants he frequented, which indeed sold his wife's favorite food. As soon as he confirmed Aurora's favorite heavy food and cakes he bought, Mario continued on his way. And when it arrived, it was true like what Sophia had previously informed, Aurora did seem to be sound asleep. Maybe still weak or it could also be that the woman fell asleep due to the influence of the drug she was taking.
"Mario," Sophia greeted as he entered the treatment room with Tristan. It was also clear in Sophia's eyes, the man with white skin and an athletic build was carrying several boxes which were sure to contain food in his hands.
"How is Aurora, Sophia? Has she been fine since yesterday?"
Sophia nodded. While receiving the box containing the food that Mario handed out, he responded to the man's question.
"If I pay attention, since waking up yesterday, Aurora's condition can be said to be good. The doctor even made sure that there was nothing that worried your wife. In fact, if there are no serious signs today, Aurora can go home tomorrow morning," Sophia explained. at length, trying to provide the information Mario needs at this time.
"Is the baby in the womb also okay?"
Sophia nodded again. He is also very grateful that Aurora and her baby are fine.
"You don't need to worry. Fortunately, yesterday's incident had no effect on the condition of the fetus Aurora is carrying. The doctor has also repeatedly confirmed that there is nothing to worry about for your wife and future child."
Mario breathed a sigh of relief. From his face, it was clear that he was full of gratitude. Even though he knew that Aurora was conscious, all night when he returned to the apartment, Mario was still restless and found it very difficult to sleep. His head was full because he was worried about the condition of the most precious person in his life.
"Thank goodness then. At least I can sleep a little better tonight."
"Then please enjoy your time with Aurora," Tristan said then. Reaching out, the man seemed to invite his wife to leave the room. "I also have to invite Sophia to go to lunch first. My wife must be very tired because she has been looking after and waiting for Aurora since morning."
Mario nodded in agreement. He was also happy to let Tristan go with Sophia. After all, this was an opportunity for him to be alone with Aurora who was sleeping.
"You're welcome, Tristan. Let me take care of Aurora. Even if she wakes up, I can immediately call the nurse on duty."
"You freak," said Tristan. "Supposedly, when your wife wakes up, talk to her, Mario. Give Aurora encouragement and at the same time lecture her so she doesn't do stupid things anymore. Not even deliberately avoiding her. Just so you know, yesterday when she woke up, you were the first person Aurora was looking for."
Mario nodded with a smile. Not the least bit offended by what Tristan had just said to him.
"It's not time for me to talk directly to Aurora, Tristan. As I said before, let Aurora learn a lesson so that in the future, she won't repeat her foolishness like what you just said."
Tristan could only shake his head. Can't stop thinking about all the plans that Mario is putting together to be implemented and applied to Aurora.
"Ah, it's up to you," he chuckled then. The man seemed too lazy to bother what Mario would do next. "Then I'll go out to eat first. If anything happens, just give me a call as soon as possible."
Mario nodded, inviting Tristan to take Sophia to lunch with him. While himself, chose to pay attention to Aurora who was sleeping.
Slowly and carefully, Mario brought his hand so he could stroke Aurora's flowing hair. He even took the opportunity to kiss his wife briefly on the forehead, and hoped that Aurora would not wake up because of what she had done.
"I hope you'll be patient a little longer, honey. Besides, I'm doing all this for the good of our little family," Mario muttered while continuing to stroke Aurora's hair.
Even when he was exasperated looking at Aurora's sleeping face. Again, Mario looked for an opportunity by briefly kissing his sleeping wife on the lips. And unfortunately, what he did this time surprised Aurora and even the woman gave her response.
Realizing that Aurora's body was starting to move restlessly, Mario, without thinking much, immediately took big steps and then left the room. He avoided himself as much as possible so that Aurora would not notice him, who had been in the room all this time.
If you think about it, his actions really look like a fool like what Tristan said before. But, it couldn't be helped, he had to do this all for a while.
"Mario..."
Suddenly, Tristan and Sophia appeared from behind. Looking around, it looked like the two of them had already finished eating their lunch in the hospital cafeteria.
"What are you doing out here? Why don't you accompany Aurora in there?" Tristan investigated suspiciously. Especially after seeing Mario's unusual movements.
"Ssstss," Mario hissed, placing his forefinger over his lips. "Don't make a fuss, Tristan. Inside there, Aurora seems to have woken up from sleep. Maybe she was surprised after I kissed her earlier."
"Jesus!" Sophia exclaimed in disbelief. Then before long, the woman covered her mouth with her palm. "You kissed Aurora on occasion. Why are you so reckless, Mario?" Sophia asked, confused. He was sure Mario would know the consequences if he dared to touch Aurora's body. Even when she was sleeping, Sophia was sure that Aurora would faintly feel someone touching her body.
"I just love to see his sleeping face, Sophia
"Just say you really miss him, Mario," said Tristan, squinting. "Supposedly, instead of being tired of hiding like a thief or a madman, it's better if you give up and make up soon," suggested Tristan once again. The man didn't seem tired of persuading Mario.
"This is the second time you've asked me to surrender, Tristan. I'm sure you know my answer, right?"
Tristan nodded.
"Actually, I really support you in teaching the stubborn Aurora a lesson. It's just that, looking at it again, it's a pity for Aurora. It seems she really regrets everything she did."
"I will definitely return to Aurora, Tristan. Just let me do what was planned. So you don't have to waste your time trying to persuade me."
"You stubborn," Tristan chuckled, shaking his head. "No wonder you match Aurora. You both have the same personality."
"His name is also mate," said Mario casually.
"Okay, if you two want to chat, please continue," Sophia intervened. "I want to go in first. I'm afraid Aurora will wake up and she's confused that there's no one waiting for her."
"I'm in," added Tristan afterwards. "I also want to check Aurora's condition."
"Then I'll just wait in the lobby," said Mario afterwards. "When you're done, just let me know and I'll come over to you."
Finished saying that sentence, Mario chose to rush to the lobby. Meanwhile, Tristan and Sophia immediately went into the treatment room and found Aurora, who had somehow woken up from sleep.
"Aurora..." Sophia called. Then he hurried over. "Why? Do you need anything?"
Aurora straightened her body, the woman then shook her head.
"Is Mario here?" he asked curiously. Maybe Aurora had felt her husband's presence before.
"Nothing, Aurora," Sophia said quietly.
Aurora then kept silent. Distribute views. Then her eyes stopped on the food box that Sophia had previously placed on the nightstand.
"What is that?"
"That's Pasta Carbonara, Garlic Bread and Cheese Cake. Do you want to eat it?"
Hearing Sophia's favorite menu that she liked to mention, Aurora was again taken aback. He was sure that previously there must have been the figure of Mario who had come to visit him.
"Who bought it or brought it here? I'm sure it must be Mario who bought it for me, right?" Aurora guessed hopefully and confidently.
"Who said Mario bought it? Just so you know, I brought the food here, Aurora. Didn't I always know all your favorite foods?" Tristan denied and immediately broke Aurora's spirit.
In fact, he was very happy when it was Mario who gave him his favorite food. It doesn't matter if they can't meet in person. The most important thing is that her husband still cares and cares about her situation.
"You must be lying," Aurora accused. "I'm sure it must be Mario who brought the food. During sleep earlier, even I felt his presence so real."
"Tsk." Tristan chuckled. Then soon the man was heard sighing. "Don't be too confident. You could have been dreaming at that time," the man argued later, making Aurora look even more irritated. Why is Tristan suddenly so annoying.
"But this time I really believe that Mario visited me. Usually, my instincts are never wrong, Tristan."
"Then, for the first time today, your instincts have gone wrong. Indeed, Mario didn't visit the hospital. It's your own fault for making him angry. Remember, from the start you always underestimated him. Even insisted and said you wouldn't want to love him. And now? Have you changed your mind? Have you realized that now you need him so much? Love him so much?"
Aurora chuckled loudly. The shocking words that Tristan delivered really made his heart feel crumpled. If only he was in good health, he would really like to beat up the man in front of him for saying something like that.
"Tristan..." Aurora muttered. He glared at her while raising an eyebrow. "Don't you have a mirror? Didn't you act the same before?"
"We are different, Aurora."
"What's different? You used to say that you wouldn't fall in love with Sophia. In fact, what you did hurts more than what I did to Mario. And after that? You're eating your own words, right? So, just stop your bullshit and talk to me Fellow alumni who have underestimated the people we love, it's best not to insult each other."
Sophia laughed. This time Tristan lost badly with what Aurora just said.
"Never mind, honey. Don't tease Aurora all the time," Sophia pleaded. Then he took a box containing Pasta Carbonara. Move it carefully onto the portable table that is above the bed. After it was served neatly, then Sophia invited Aurora to eat it.
"Instead of being tired of serving Tristan, it's better to just taste this pasta. I'm sure you miss cooking outside."
Aurora nodded in agreement. Grabbing the spoon Sophia offered him, he slowly ate the food that was in front of him. And after several bribes, Aurora again confirmed what she felt.
"So Mario really didn't come to see you?"
Sophia nodded slowly. He couldn't bear it, but he had to comply with Mario's previous request to keep his visit a secret all along.
"Yes, Aurora. No Mario here."
Hearing Sophia's answer, Aurora immediately fell silent. Did she miss her husband so much that she always remembered, imagined, even felt that this man had been hugging and kissing her when she was lying weak.
However, discovering the fact that until now Mario has never met him, he feels pain and sadness. Then, what other way should one melt her husband's heart so that he wants to forgive and accept her back as before?
