Medical Check Up
Aurora, it's your schedule for checking your obstetrics this afternoon, right? I've arranged an appointment with one of the best doctors here. I hope you'll be ready this afternoon. Let me accompany you and accompany you."
Aurora, who had just finished her lunch, nodded slowly. I don't know what his father-in-law is actually planning. When seen with his own eyes, it was clear he wanted to separate himself from Mario. But, in daily life, his father-in-law still pays attention to all the needs and needs that he must get, including the health of the baby in his stomach.
Does his father-in-law have a hidden plan? Or will what he said the other day about wanting to take the baby in his womb when it is born, really come true?
In that instant, Aurora rubbed her stomach. The horror of the thought of being forcibly separated from the baby she loved so dearly terrified her.
"Do I really have to go to the doctor this afternoon?" asked Aurora to start the conversation.
"It's up to you whether you want to go or not. However, according to the assignment given to me, your scheduled regular obstetric check-up must be done today."
"But, do you have to accompany? We even ---"
"Don't know each other?" Jacob cut in with a smile. "Take it easy. I'm not a bad person who wants to kidnap you," said the man then laughed. If you look closely, Jacob's laugh was so distinctive. Aurora is sure that any woman who sees it will be fascinated. Even he personally did not deny it.
"Once again I emphasize..." Jacob said, continuing the previous sentence. "You don't need to be afraid or worried. I'm not a bad person. So, you don't need to worry. Consider me a friend you can rely on during your exile."
"Exile?" repeated Aurora, frowning.
"Yes, what else if it's not exile? It's not like you were sent this far on purpose to avoid my cousin's reach, right?"
"Ah, since yesterday I have been wondering who you are. Apparently you are Calvin's cousin?"
he nodded.
"We are cousins. It's a shame that Calvin never really liked me."
"Why?"
"Maybe because I feel competitive. From the beginning, many women who liked me more than your husband. In any case, I always excel. That's why, Calvin never liked when I have to be side by side or together with me. That's all if he knows you're with me, maybe I will be killed by him soon.”
Without realizing it, Aurora laughed. Somehow the simple explanation that Jacob described amused him.
Ending the conversation, Aurora decided to return to the room. And according to the schedule, at exactly six o'clock in the afternoon, Jacob actually approached on time to then take him to a hospital.
Having already arranged an appointment, Aurora no longer had to bother waiting. As soon as he arrived, he was immediately invited by the nurse to immediately enter and check himself.
"Good evening Mrs. Harald. Nice to meet you," the doctor greeted and then invited Aurora to immediately step towards the patient's bed.
When the position is very ready, the doctor immediately carried out his duties. Examine carefully the condition of Aurora's womb, which is just a matter of time.
"There's a good chance your baby will be born in a week or two. I suggest you get more light exercise in these last seconds to ease the delivery."
Aurora nodded. After carrying out the examination, the nurse led him to get down immediately, approached Jacob and then sat together.
"Then what about the condition of my baby?" Aurora asked then.
"So far your baby is also healthy. In fact, his condition is very stable. There's nothing to worry about until it's time for delivery."
"Then, is there anything else I need to do?"
Doctor smiles. Taking turns looking at Aurora and Jacob then gave a very important message.
"In this final trimester, there are rituals or activities that pregnant women and their husbands can do to make labor easier."
"Activities with husband?" Aurora explained. "Should be done with husband?"
The doctor nodded.
"Yes, ma'am. This is a very sensitive activity and should be done with your husband."
"But, my husband---"
"What kind of activities should I do to make my wife's birth easier, doc?" Jacob cut in hastily. Turning to Aurora, the man just smiled.
The doctor smiled, leaned forward slightly, then spoke casually.
"Make love."
Aurora choked. He did not expect the advice that the doctor had just given him.
"Making love, doc?"
"Yes," nodded the doctor. "Routine sex in the last trimester can speed up and also facilitate the birth process. That's why this ritual must be done as often as possible."
Aurora's ears felt hot. How could he carry out the doctor's advice if he was separated from his husband?
"We'll do what the doctor suggests." Not Aurora, even Jacob who answered. I don't know what the man's intent and purpose was in responding to all the advice the doctor gave.
Even after completing the consultation and examination, Aurora finally decided to go home. Once he reached the apartment parking lot and before actually getting off, he first invited Jacob to talk.
"May I know, what did all the words you said when ---"
"At the hospital earlier?" he cut in. I think Aurora now understands that the man next to her has a hobby of interrupting other people's speech. "Don't take it to heart, Aurora. I'm just helping you not to look pitiful in front of the doctor. The doctor doesn't need to know you're separated from your husband."
Aurora chuckled. Why did Jacob's words ring in his ears?
"I think you're overreacting."
"No need to take it personally. Just take it as a passing wind," said the man with a smile. Then unexpectedly even forward position of his body. Seemed to deliberately reduce the distance between him and Aurora. "But if you're serious about wanting me to help you, I have absolutely no problem."
Aurora's brow furrowed.
"You mean?"
"If you need a partner to realize what the doctor suggested, I can gladly do it for you."
Aurora gaped. Where did he expect that the man in front of him was so brave to offer himself. So, should he accept the offer?
"Let me in right now or I'll get into trouble here!"
Mario grunted in anger. After waiting for some time, today he finally had the opportunity to meet his father who had returned from a business trip abroad.
Because according to him there was no more time to wait until the afternoon or wait for his father to return home first, Mario decided to go straight to James at his office.
However, it is not that easy for him to meet face to face. Just got to the front of the room, his father's secretary forbade him to enter the room. In fact, the woman knew that Mario was the son of James himself.
"But your father did give a message from the start not to be disturbed first. He is currently having a teleconference with the French parliament. I suggest that you wait a moment. Or you could come back at lunchtime later," coaxed the secretary politely. It was hard for him to convince Mario to cooperate.
Mario didn't seem to care. Ignoring the advice his father's secretary gave him, he chose to turn around and immediately opened the door to the room. Without hesitation, he entered, to hell if after this his father wanted to be angry or act like anything.
"Pa!" cried Mario and immediately caught the attention of James who was sitting focused on discussing in front of his laptop.
While the secretary who came in now looks hopefully anxious. Of course he was afraid that after this he would be scolded by his superiors for being negligent in letting other people enter the room without permission. Even though the one who came here was James' own son, usually the man didn't care. If you have given a mandate, anyone must carry it out without exception.
"Pa, we have to talk seriously," Mario said again when he didn't get any response from James who was busy with his work.
Then the father looked up. Raised a hand in the air. Signaling for Mario to be patient for a moment, while he seemed to have permission to leave the important discussion he had been following.
"What is it?" asked James later. Then gave the code to his secretary to get out of his room immediately.
Mario then stepped closer. Deliberately sitting right in front of the father.
"Where is papa hiding Aurora?" asked Mario to the point and without further ado. He believes his father is the mastermind of all this.
"What do you mean, Calvin? You came like a madman. And now? Even asking where your wife is? Are you kidding me?"
Mario laughed wryly. Keeping a cynical face, the man tried to restrain himself so as not to get emotional over his father's attitude which he found annoying. In fact, no matter what, Mario is 100% sure that Aurora's departure must have been his father's doing.
"Oh, come on, Pa. Don't joke. Where did you hide Aurora? I'm sure you are aware that your daughter-in-law is heavily pregnant. Don't you have the slightest bit of compassion?"
This time it was James who smiled a faint smile. Keeping his face, trying to keep a face as calm as possible. You really have to be careful when facing Mario, especially when you're emotional like now,
"Papa doesn't even know about Aurora's whereabouts, Calvin. To be honest, Papa did meet her. But it was just a casual meeting."
"Lie!" cried Mario in a rising voice. "Papa even previously forced me to part with Aurora. Then, shortly after I flatly refused, my wife disappeared as if swallowed by the earth. It is clear from the CCTV footage at home, Jerome's car can be seen picking up Aurora and then taking her to the airport."
James then fell silent for a few moments. It's possible to be confused about having to respond to Mario's barrage of accusations. He could have forgotten to anticipate this one thing and now it turns out to be a boomerang for him.
"You must have seen it wrong, Calvin. Jerome even went to Germany a week ago. So, how could he pick up your wife and take your wife to the airport? Besides, even if Aurora leaves you, maybe it's because she already realizes that it's not appropriate anymore be your companion."
"Stop it, Papa!" cried Mario did not like. His jaw tightened. Signs that his emotions are starting to goaded. "For God's sake, I'm asking again, where is Aurora? Or daddy will regret for hiding it from me."
James seemed to continue to look relaxed. Leaning his shoulder against the back of the chair, the man answered calmly.
"Whether you want to be angry or threaten whatever it is to Papa, it still doesn't change Papa's previous answer in the slightest, Calvin. Papa really doesn't know where your wife is. Supposedly, if you really love each other, are bound and dependent on each other, surely know each other's whereabouts."
"But if I find out that Papa was involved in this incident, let alone put my wife and future child in danger, for God's sake, I will not hesitate to make a calculation."
Mario glared angrily at his father. Believing his efforts this time were fruitless, he decided to leave without saying anything else.
