Damn It!
Calvin Mario Harald is an only child who happened to be born into a family that is closely related to political life. His father, James Franklin Harald, was one of the top officials in the British government parliament. While his mother, Diana Charlotte Harald, was a famous prosecutor.
In the past, since childhood, Mario or Calvin had been directed by their parents to become a diplomat or lawyers. However, when the man grew up, he was even more interested in working in architecture and finally decided to become an architect.
Born as a favorite child, it was not difficult for Mario to change his parents' wishes. Even though, in the end, they chose the architect profession, which was the opposite, James and Diana still supported their son's choice.
Also, James and Diana invariably granted almost all of Mario's requests. That's why, this morning, while eating breakfast, Mario wanted to discuss marriage with his parents. Their request to get married soon will also be granted by them.
After all, there was no time left if he kept procrastinating. Isn't Aurorae's belly getting bigger every day? Of course, Mario would not have the heart to believe that Aurorae would later become the subject of gossip because she was already pregnant before having an official relationship.
"Pa, Ma," called Mario. His eyes seemed to look one by one toward his parents in turn. "I have something serious I want to talk to you two about."
James, who had just finished sipping the black coffee in his cup, immediately turned his head. Staring intently, then nodded in response to what his son had just said.
"Sure. Take your time. What important thing do you want to tell Papa and Mama, Calvin."
Mario took one breath. Gathering all his courage, he slowly answered again.
"I want to get married, Pa. The woman I love is currently pregnant with my child."
James immediately crumpled the napkin he used to wipe his lips. Diana, who was sitting right beside him, held his arm. As if giving a sign so that he doesn't get emotional before actually hearing what their son will explain.
"You got a woman pregnant?" James asked reassuringly.
"Yes, Papa."
James closed his eyes tightly. He never thought that the son who had been educated and admired so well would dare to sleep with and even impregnate a woman without having any formal ties before.
As a respected person, James has always tried to maintain the good name of his extended family by being careful in all matters. Now, hearing that Mario had committed a shameful act, he could not tolerate this act.
"Didn't you think before you did all this, Calvin?" he asked. His voice sounded heavy. There was a hint of utter disappointment in that sentence. "Did Papa and Mama ever teach you to do shameful and impudent acts like this?"
"Papa," said Mario. "I know that I was wrong in this matter. I'm really sorry for disappointing Papa and Mama. That's why I asked permission to be responsible by marrying her before the public out there knows what happened."
James shook his head repeatedly. I really can't stop thinking about what happened to his son.
"You really went too far in this. Honestly Papa is disappointed with you."
Mario looked down. In all his life in this world, he had never seen James' face so disappointed and sad as now. Even when he decided to become an Architect, his father did not act like this morning.
"I'm really sorry, Pa," said Mario softly. Regretfully he uttered those words.
James took a deep breath. He is trying to make peace with his heart by forgiving the actions of his only son. Knowing that Mario is currently pregnant with a woman, he must find out more about who this woman is.
"Do you know her family background? Do you know which family the woman you are pregnant with comes from?" asked James seriously.
Of course, seed, weight, and weight are the most important things for a James Franklin Harald. He didn't want his only descendant, who he was often proud of, to marry a woman whose origins needed to be clarified.
Long ago, he had prepared a candidate to accompany his son. But if this had happened, what could he do now?
"Her name is Aurorae Smith," said Mario, still with a downcast face. "She is the daughter of Raphael Gamaliel Smith, the owner of Foxtail Corporation. Aurorae herself is a boss where I currently work," explained Mario briefly.
James nodded. Hearing that the woman whose son was pregnant was the daughter of the owner of the largest holding company in London made her breathe a little easier. At the very least, in the future, he will become friends with influential and respected people in his country.
"Then your boyfriend's parents already know you're going to marry him?"
This time Mario looked up. He glanced at James, then nodded.
"Aurorae's parents asked me to talk to Papa and Mama. They were waiting for our extended family to carry out the proposal procession. That's why I told you this morning first. I love Aurorae, Pa. I don't want to marry a woman other than her."
Seeing the sincerity that radiated from Mario's eyes, James was sure of what his son was saying. Nothing else he could do except agree and do what Mario asked for now. After all, everything is also apparent and has already happened.
"Okay..." James continued. "We'll talk about all this later tonight after we're done eating. Either way, you do have to be responsible for what you did."
James then rose from his seat. Saying goodbye to his wife, the man walked out of the car. He was left for work first, leaving his wife and son, who was still sitting in the dining room.
"Calvin!" call Diana. "You still owe an explanation with Mama."
Mario sighed. Then soon, the man nodded, responding to his mother's words. He knew that the woman who had given birth to him must still be curious about the story he had not finished telling the other day.
"Mama want to ask about what else, now?"
"About Aurorae not recognizing you. Are you sure she will just agree to marry you? Didn't you also say that Aurorae doesn't love you?"
Mario nodded again. Seeing the worried look on his mother's face made him feel uneasy. He knew that his parents would want the best for him.
"Mama, just calm down. Let that be my business. The most important thing now is that Mama and Papa both approve and agree to the wedding plans that I will hold."
Diana let out a long breath. I can't say anything anymore.
"How could Papa and Mama not allow you to marry that woman, Calvin. After all, Aurorae already contains Harald's flesh and blood. It is your duty to be responsible."
Diana then took a sip of the remaining chamomile tea in her cup. Hastily stood up, preparing to follow her husband to go to work.
"Mama will go first. Like your papa said, we will continue this conversation tonight. What is certain is that you don't need to worry. The wedding will still take place soon."

After enjoying his breakfast, Mario hurriedly drove the car he was going to reach the elite Kensington area. He parked his car neatly in the yard of the Quartararo family's house. He then got down and then took significant steps to enter immediately. This morning, Mario was planning to visit Aurorae, who was still resting at home.
However, as soon as Samanta asked him to enter, Mario found Aurorae's figure, neatly dressed, complete with a black blazer, sitting in the dining room while enjoying breakfast.
Confused and full of questions, Mario decided to approach. Without hesitation, he pulled a chair to sit right next to Aurorae.
"Where are you going? Don't tell me today you're going back to work."
Aurorae, who seemed engrossed in eating apples from her plate, glanced over briefly. With a slight chuckle, the woman answered back.
"Whether I work, sleep, eat or whatever it is, I told you it's none of your business. So, stop bothering me, Mario," Aurorae snapped. His face showed an aura of hostility clearly.
"Did you forget too?" Mario replied with a fixed stare. Putting his face forward, the man spoke in a whisper but with emphasis. "Since I slept with you and now there is my future child in your stomach, whether you like it or not, your business is also my business now."
"Mario!"
"What?" said Mario no less firmly. "You want to protest?"
Right when Raphael came, he had just left the room. The man immediately smiled at Mario, who was arguing with Aurorae.
"Mario, good morning. Didn't expect to see you this early."
"Good morning too, Papa."
At that moment, Aurorae also turned around. She was staring at Mario with an indescribable gaze.
"What did you say just now? Papa? How can you be that impudent?!"
"Aurorae," Raphael said quickly. "Don't overdo it."
"But, Mario has the courage to call Papa as ----"
"Papa?" interrupted Raphael again. "Why the fuss? In fact, Papa himself asked him to learn from now on calling 'Papa' so that it wouldn't be awkward in the future."
"Jesus Christ!" Aurorae immediately exclaimed while shaking her head repeatedly. He really couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Are you two now conspiring to attack me?"
Raphael just laughed. Lazy to extend the protests that his daughter continues to make. Choose to enjoy breakfast while talking to Mario again.
"Have you eaten yourself, Mario?"
Mario immediately nodded politely.
"By coincidence, I already ate. I rushed here on purpose because I wanted to make sure Aurorae's condition was getting better or not. And speaking of conditions, did Papa allow Aurorae to start work as usual today?"
Raphael, who was cutting the bread on his plate, nodded casually. Looking up, the man spoke again.
"Papa, I think Aurorae's condition has improved a lot. It seems like it won't be a problem if she returns to work. After all, you will be watching and looking after her at the office, right?"
Aurorae glared back. Unable to bear to hear the chat between Mario and his father, who looked so compact, he decided to get up. He grabbed his shopper bag, then said goodbye to get ready to work.
"See you at the office, Pa."
Raphael nodded. Then glanced at Mario. He signaled the man to immediately chase after Aurorae to take her to the office together.
So just as quickly, Mario got up and chased after him. Forced Aurorae to get into her car. Even though she was annoyed, in the end, the woman agreed and just gave up once Mario took her to the office.
Even when he arrived at Foxtail, Mario quickly helped open the door. Please come down. Then followed Aurorae's steps into the building to her office. This treatment became the focus of almost all employees who passed or met them.
"Stop your stupidity, Mario. Didn't you see all eyes on your behavior this morning?" Aurorae protested when she was already sitting in her work chair.
"Just let everyone see it, Aurorae. If necessary, when I leave here, I will go to the information room to announce our relationship to all residents of this building," joked Mario casually. As if not burdened by what he just said.
"Until you do that, I will send you to hell."
Mario burst out laughing. Instead of being afraid, he teased Aurorae even more on purpose.
"Never mind that, right now I'm thinking of finding a special affectionate nickname for you. How about starting from this second I call you honey? Princess? Honey? Bee? Or ----"
"Get out of my room, or I'll kill you right now!"
Again, laughter dripped from Mario's lips. He was pleased to see how clearly Aurorae's annoyed expression was showing him.
"Alright... alright... I'll head out right now. But there's one thing I have to do first before I go."
Mario stepped closer to the position where Aurorae was sitting. Lowering his head, he unexpectedly kissed the left cheek of the woman whose status was his boss.
"I'll work first, future wife. See you this afternoon."
"MARIO!"
