Chapter 12
Before me is Kahin Hamann, the man I loved with all my heart, the father of my son, so perfect and different with his perfectly trimmed long beard, his black eyes as intense as my brown. His imposing appearance in that black suit and white shirt, as sure as always…my brunette. Our eyes do not depart from each other, or we simply do not want to, my gaze is diverted in the direction of the person who has caught my attention, Kahin surrounds a tremendously beautiful and pregnant woman by the waist, my heart squeezes into me chest, now I understand many things.
Widening my smile and looking at the girl who is screaming excitedly, I force myself to speak, “good afternoon, welcome," I pass completely from Kahin, I feel his gaze on me and that is very uncomfortable.
"Hello beautiful," greets the woman trying to get away from her… husband? Just thinking that gives me chills, hiding this situation is almost impossible, Kahin is with a woman and pregnant almost about to give birth, no he wasted time, “I like that painting, the one by the lake. Is it the spring season?” looking at the pictures, I smile, trying to forget who is holding the woman who is speaking to me in a sweet and polite way with possessiveness.
"Yes, they are made by my mother, it is the spring collection. They are beautiful right?" I look at her again, she smiles at me and then looks at Kahin.
"I want it, I want the biggest one," she points to it, “that one by the lake,” she makes a pout.
He as always with his serious expression sighs, "I can never deny you anything," he kisses her head and looks at me, looking away, I try to breathe, I haven't done that since I saw him. Feeling the way I am feeling is not healthy for my health.
“Thank you, thank you. I love you,” without looking, I know she's bombarding him with kisse. “I'll take it!” She claps her hands, without looking at her, I disassemble the painting to wrap it up, fuck Carla, when are you planning to arrive? I think on the verge of a heart attack, “I-I-I-I-be,” her tone of astonishment makes me turn, “Is that you?” She frowns at Kahin and I feel like dying. The brunette's gaze falls on me, my smile is nothing more than a damn grimace, this can't be happening to me. What were the chances of this happening? None! He shouldn't be here!
"Yeah, it's just ..." my mother's screams along with my son's crying interrupts me.
"Daughter, he ...he is crying a lot, I swear I didn't hurt him, I swear," looking at my mother's state alarms me.
"Hey mom, calm down," I take the baby from him, “you haven't done anything, I told you that he has a strong temperament,” I try to calm my son and my mother who trembles while crying.
"I ...I just wanted to kiss him ...and I don't know what happened I ... I..." my mother's breathing quickens and loses its color, scared without looking at anything, I give the baby to Kahin to attend to my mother.
"Mama please ...easy, the child is fine," my mother kneels on the floor. Not knowing what to do, I just look at her, it's as if her breathing, no matter how fast it is, can’t take in air, “mama, don't scare me!” I shout.
"Damn," Carla shouts and pulls me away, "Aunt remember that everything is fine, look at me," Carla takes my mother's cheeks in her hands, "everything is fine…nothing happens, think of something beautiful, something that calms you,” she speaks to her and smiles with affection, I, with my heart in my hand look at them incredulously. What the hell was that? Mom calms down and the crowd of people who had gathered were cleared by the paramedics, “I'll see to her, it's just a nervous breakdown ,” Carla shrugs.
Swallowing the tears of fright, I look at the person pulling me arm, “oh no, calm down," I say, getting up quickly, “you shouldn't force yourself with your pregnancy, I could get up alone," I try to smile but I can't.
"Will she be okay?" The woman asked, worried. Nodding as I look in the direction that they have taken mom, “apparently your baby felt very well in the arms of this big man.”
I frown and look at her, “what?" I ask without knowing what she's talking about.
She laughs, “your son. Look, he's very comfortable,” following her gaze, I am stunned to see how Kahin and my brown looks at each other without blinking. I curse.
"For God's sake, I'm sorry," I squeal hysterically, I hadn't realized that my son had calmed down when he felt himself in his father's arms, “it wasn't my intention,” I apologize almost nervously, I practically snatched him from Kahin’s hands, I did not want to let go. When my eyes reach the level of his, his gaze leaves me smaller than I am. Scared and wanting to get out of there, I look at the girl, “I give you the painting as a present for your pregnancy,” I smile at her, “congratulations on your baby, you will know true love.”
She smiles at me, "it’s true isn’t? I already want her to be here with me,” she looks curiously at my son.
Turning away from her I show her the painting, “and by the time she is, you'll have this beautiful painting that gives off tranquility. I have to go, I have to make sure my mother is okay.” Kahin takes a step forward, and I drop the painting.
"Hey lethal," I hear Loan screaming, when I look, I curse again, when my friend reaches to us, his face reveal to everyone that he has a secret, his gaze shifts from me to Kahin and from Kahin to Kahin's wife.
"Why are you looking at me?" I ask, almost growling, "I was just attending to the gentlemen, pick up the pictures, I'll go see my mother." My friend moves his mouth but doesn't say a word, "Fuck Loan, speak," I yell, startling the baby.
"I shouldn't scream with the baby in my arms," Kahin growls at my side. With my heart pounding, I don't say anything, I can't risk this woman realizing who she's been so kind to.
"That's what I came to say," says Loan, regaining his speech and coming out of his stunned state, “she's fine, it was just the nerves,” he bites his lips. “I'll pick up the paintings and then go take her home." He massages his neck, I can see how he looks at Kahin for a moment but I don't turn around to check. “There will be a party today and you have to attend,” he practically orders me.
Raising an eyebrow, I look at him almost with mockery, “out of respect for Carla, I'm not going to say anything to you, but may it be the last time you speak to me in a command tone and expect me to obey. Are we clear?” Loan nods uncomfortably.
"Are you talking about the party at the Panama hotel?" The girl asks excitedly, "you must attend. I know we don't know each other, but that party is the best in the world."
Smiling somewhat uncomfortably, I look into her eyes, poor woman, she doesn’t know who she talking to, “no, I'm not going. I'm sorry, but I hope you guys have fun."
She looks at Loan and seemed to figure something out, “do you two know each other?" She narrows her eyes.
"The fool is the zazo of my best friend Carla, you must know her," I answer calmly.
The woman looks at Kahin immediately, I refuse to think that they will talk about my relationship with the man 'I can do all', “your...”
