I look at Irene and by looking at her anyone can say she wanted to say something but was hesitating.

"Let's sit on the bed" I mumbled, singling towards the bed. She nodded and we both sat on the bed.

"You can say whatever you want to," I said holding her hand and that's when tears brimmed in her eyes. she tightened her lips, trying her best not to cry.

"Irene.. now you're scaring me... please say what happened?" She didn't reply to me and hugged me.

"I'm sorry... I'm genuinely sorry for my behaviour and" She clamped up.

"And?"

"I was there" She mumbled and broke the hug.

"I didn't get you"

"I and Stefan were there that night when... when Richard molested you." She whimpered. Tears rolled from my eyes hearing her.

"Richard kidnapped me and his man was torturing me to blackmail Alex to surrender. That day Richard was about to rape me but he got busy with you and Stefan saved me. We heard your painful scream. Stefan wanted to help you but I was so afraid that I didn't let him go and we... we ran away despite hearing your scream" I detached my hands from her after hearing her.

"You heard me, still you didn't come to help me"

"I'm sorry, Sana but I was frightened. If Richard caught us then he would have raped me. I'm sorry, Sana," she said.

"And why are you saying sorry today? Would your sorry change anything?" I mocked. She didn't reply and bowed her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'm not mad at you. My own people left me when I was in pain then what should I expect from a stranger." I said, wiping my tears. "I understand your point Irene that you were afraid but why didn't your brother save me? I was his mate." I asked the question which was bothering me.

"Who told you Alex was there?" She asked confusingly.

"Don't lie to me. Just tell the truth that your cowardly brother didn't save his mate. He must have felt my presence near him like my wolf Maya felt his presence" I grunt.

"no... I mean yes brother was there but before he could enter your territory he started feeling pain in his body as it was a time when he morphed into a wolf for the first time. Stefan took the guarantee to bring me back and asked Alex to stay outside because his painful scream might lead us to get in danger. My brother has a Lycan just like my Dad." She said leaving me stunned.

"Lycan?" I asked once again. I heard a little about the werewolf who had a Lycan. They turned into a wolf at 22 on a full moon that too after they met their Mate. Irene nodded her head.

"That means he was not there?" I asked to confirm and instead of replying she stood up from the bed.

"Stefan" She mumbled and ran outside. I too followed her with worry.

We reached the hall where Alex was beating the hell out of Stefan.

"Alex" I gasped when Alex punched Stefan's face. Irene runs towards Alex and Stefan but Max holds her in midway.

"Leave me, Max" Irene roared, trying her best to get out of Max's hold.

"You moron... how dare you behave like that with my sister" Alex groaned and punched Stefan's stomach. "She kept telling me that she hates you... you're not a good person but I didn't believe her. I trusted you with my sister and what you did? you behaved like a jerk with her. I won't spare you" Alex smacked his face. I was amused that Stefan was not fighting back nor his wolf was helping him.

"Stefan" Irene cried out. "Max leave me" She frowned and looked at Alex.

"Please brother, leave him... please" she begged.

"No... Today he will die. How dare he behave like that with you? He locked you in the room and didn't give you food. He didn't let you wear what you wanted, he didn't let you go out, he didn't let you talk with anyone but him. He didn't even let you eat what you want. he caged you in a prison. How dare he behave like that with you? Yes, I give him your responsibility but that doesn't mean he has a right to control your life. Only you had a right over your life, Irene" he scoffed and again smashed Stefan. Blood started oozing out of Stefan's mouth.

"Sana... Sana, please stop brother please" Irene pleaded with me. I don't want to interfere in this matter as it was a brother-sister matter but I know that if I didn't stop him then I'm sure he would end up taking Stefan's life. I went towards him.

"Alex stopped," I said softly, holding his arm and he stopped. He leaves Stefan's collar. Stefan fell to the ground where Max left Irene's hand. She immediately went to her mate.

Alex glared at Stefan angrily and then headed towards our room without even looking at me. I looked towards Stefan who had a smile despite being in pain. He lovingly wiped Irene's tears.

"What was the need to tell my brother anything? You apologised to me for your behaviour and I forgot you then why?" Irene yelled.

"Because I love you and I know you don't want this marriage that's why I told your brother everything so that he cancelled this marriage" He muttered. I was speechless hearing him.

"Max" I look towards him.

"Yes Luna" He came towards me and bowed his head in respect. For a second I forget what I was about to say hearing Luna from his mouth. It will take time for me to get adjusted to this title.

"Help Irene and Stefan," I said and went to our room near Alex.

I went inside the room but he was nowhere. I look towards the washroom. The door was opened and the sound of water was coming from there. I sit on the bed waiting for him.

I waited... 5 min went than 15 min then half an hour when he didn't come. I went towards the washroom.

Alex was standing under the shower breathing heavily. Maybe trying to calm his anger.

"Alex" I called out his name but he didn't reply.

"How can I be so careless? How can I trust a person like him for my sister? I should have not trusted him. I should have listened to my sister" He mumbled. I could feel the pain in his voice. Tears brimmed in my eyes. He hit his hand on the mirror, breaking the mirror into small pieces.

"Alex" I gasped and went towards him not caring about the water.

"What are you doing? why are you hurting yourself?" I frowned, looking at his hand from which blood was coming out.

"Leave me alone Sana" He muttered.

"Never," I said without thinking. We had eye contact. I wiped the tear from the corner of his eyes.

"I failed Sana. I failed as a brother" He mumbled and hugged me. Hiding his face in my neck. I hugged him tightly and moved my hand on his back to calm him down.

"Sana" He tightened his grip around my waist unknowingly. I know he needs me. I can feel that...

"I always fail, Sana. I always fail. first as a son then as a life partner, then as a brother. I always fail," he said. I can feel his tears on my shoulder.

"It's nothing like that baby... It's nothing like that" I muttered and broke the hug. I wiped his tears. We were both standing in the shower looking into each other's eyes.

"It is... I failed" Before he could complete I smashed my lips with his not giving him a chance to utter nonsense. He was stunned at my bold reaction but the next moment when he realised what happened he started giving me a response.

We were kissing each other deeply and passionately under the shower water, melting in each other's arms forgetting everything but only remembering each other.
