Chapter 42
CHAPTER 42: FIRST DAY OF COURTING YOU
IVYNA was still shocked to what she heard. She didn’t blink nor move. She was just staring at the man who caused her to freeze like a stone.
“Don’t just stare at me. Say something.” Taese irritated said.
Ivyna blinks so many times. She didn’t remove her eyes at him.
“U-Uhm...”
“What?”
“What! Don't pressure me!” she said catching her breathe. “I can’t believe what’s happening. I don’t know what’s going on. A-Are you perhaps… making fun of me?”
“What?!” Taese couldn’t believe what she just said. “After I indirectly confess my feelings to you, you will say that? Are you for real?!” he said. “Or do you want me to say it to your face, huh? Fine! I like you-No. I love you. Is that okay?”
Ivyna was even more speechless. Her world seemed to stop when she heard what Taese said. It was as if what he said was a magical reason to stop her whole system.
“Y-You… you like me—N-No. Y-You… love me?” she uttered, still can’t believe.
Taese slammed the steering wheel in annoyance. He couldn't believe he had fallen for someone so slow to think. At the same time, he felt embarrassed.
“Do you really need to repeat what I’ve said?” he looked away.
Ivyna also averted her eyes away from him.
Silence filled inside Taese’s car. No one dared speaks up. After minutes of silence, Taese started his car again and drove away. In just a blink of eye they reached his condo. No one still bothered to speak while they’re inside the elevator. But Ivyna could feel his stares at her. She was really shock at his confession.
Once the elevator door opened, Taese went outside first. Ivyna watched him walking away before she stepped out in the elevator. Ivyna was walking inches away from him while thinking to what just happened inside his car. It was so fast. Everything happened so fast.
Taese opened the door of his condo unit and entered without uttering a word to the woman behind him. He was upset. Really upset. She thought his feeling to her was a joke? Really. She was the only one who found out his confession was a joke. No one dares reject him like what she did. Every woman he dated and asked by him, they immediately jumped off their chair and hugged him like they won a prize. But in Ivyna’s case, it wasn’t. That’s why it got him mad and upset.
He loosened his tie and put down his bag before walking towards the bathroom. He needs to calm himself.
On the other hand, Ivyna watched what he did. She sudden felt sadness took over his nervousness. She knew he helped her a lot in so many ways. But it just that, she didn’t know if she has feeling towards him. Or she just was considering what he had done to her. But she couldn’t that he’s really…he’s really an attractive one. Plus, he helped her.
Ivyna shook her head. She was still standing near the door. She went to the fridge and drink water to lessen what in her mind. She then went to his room and changed her clothes. Ivyna went out of his room and she was in the middle when Taese went out of the bathroom.
They were both stunned and looked at each other.
Ivyna’s eyes unconsciously went down from his face down to his chest. Taese was rubbing towel to his hair. He’s not wearing anything on top and only wearing a boxer at lower part.
“Tsk!” Taese snorted before he passed her by.
Once Ivyna heard the sound of closing door, she lightly slapped her face.
“What did you just do?”
The night deepened. Ivyna saw how Taese ignored her even they’re just inside of one room. She still saw him peeks a glimpse at her though. She’s sitting in the dining table while Taese was sitting on the couch and busied himself in his phone.
She then stood up still not removing her eyes at him so she saw how his head titled at her direction. Taese was still wearing his annoyed face.
He then rolled his eyes and looked back at his phone. She saw also his lips pouting a little.
Ivyna couldn’t stop herself but to smile to what he did. He’s like a kid who is sulking because his mom didn’t give him a candy. That’s really what he looks like right now.
She shook her head and then crossed her arms before saying anything.
“I’m going to sleep,” she uttered.
Taese didn’t response nor look at her. She smiles because she saw how he mimicked what she said. She waited for a second if he’ll look at her but he didn’t do.
Morning came. Ivyna doesn’t know why but her morning feels something she couldn’t feel before. She stretched out her arms in the air and yawned like she didn’t yawn for years. There’s something inside of her giving her a positive effect to start her day with a good mood.
She stood up in Taese’ bed before fixing herself and then went outside. The aroma of food was the first thing she smelled once she opened the door. It was like it was calling her. She closed her eyes and smelled the food for a while before stepping out of the room.
Shocked written it her face once her eyes drifted to the table that full of different kinds of food. She looked around to find Taese while taking a small step towards the table but she couldn’t find him.
“Why there’s so many food in here? Is there an occasion or something?”
“No, there’s none.”
Ivyna quickly turned behind her where Taese's voice came from. Then there, she saw him standing with proper suit attire. He’s wearing a dark blue polo and black pants. He also tucked it inside of his pants that revealed his belt.
“All of that is for you.”
Ivyna looked at him directly to his eyes.
“Your breakfast.”
“W-What?” she fluttered. She then looked at the table again. “A-All of these?” She looked at him again. “I-I don’t think I can finish all of that. Why you ordered so much food—“
They both looked at the door’s direction after hearing someone knocking on it.
Taese’s lips curved a smile.
“It is here.” He then walked towards the door.
“Here what?” Ivyna’s eyes followed him.
Seconds just had passed before Taese came back with something in his hand that he hiding it in his back. He then walked towards her and then extended what the thing in his back.
“For you.”
A bouquet of red roses appeared in between of them.
“W-What?” she looked up at him. “F-For what?’”
He smiled.
“Told you last night, I will court you. Here it is.” He gesturedthe flower. “First day of courting you.”
