Chapter 41
CHAPTER 41: Will Court You
IVYNA tried to focus even though the scenario inside the elevator kept coming back to her mind. It didn’t leave her mind at all. She was busy checking the papers when she heard the bell rings meaning it was already lunch time. She unconsciously looked at her wrist watch and saw that it was really lunch time.
“Come here. Let’s eat.”
She froze once she heard Taese voice. The scenes in the elevator flash in her mind once again. And she couldn’t help but to blush about it. Shame enveloped her as she remembered what happened earlier inside the elevator. It was really unexpected.
“Don’t you hear me?”
Her eyes widen and she really froze in her seat when Taese’s face appeared beside her.
“U-Uh, yes, yes.” She stood up and moved away from him. Her heart throbbed faster than it usually.
She could see the confused look in Taese’ face because of what she did. She just couldn’t stand him near her again.
“Are you okay?” Taese asked.
She immediately nodded.
“Y-Yes!”
He frowned the way he answered him.
“Really?”
“R-Really…” she uttered since she felt she’s going to melt by his stares.
She puts her hands at her back and played it. She’s feeling unconscious.
Taese looked at her for a while before he nodded and sat down. Ivyna couldn’t do but to sit down in front of him. The food arrived and they fixed it on the table. Once Ivyna accidentally touched Taese’s hand, she felt something on it that made her to move it away from his. Taese saw it and frowned at her.
Ivyna just shook her head and continued.
They ate quietly. Ivyna couldn't help but be a little embarrassed by her movements because she knew her boss was watching her. And she wasn’t wrong. Once she peek a glance to him. She saw him smiling while looking at her but it fade immediately when he noticed that Ivyna’s looking at him.
Blushed, Ivyna focused her attention to the food she was eating.
Taese couldn’t stop admiring her even her clumsiness. He find it cute the way she acted in front of him.
‘Damn this woman! What did she do to me that I love even her little actions?’ He thought.
Once the lunch time was over, Ivyna quietly put away what they had eaten. While Taese stood up where he was and answered the call. Ivyna silently watched him while she’s cleaning the table. She could only see his back so she has strength to look at him.
‘Is he for real? I mean… I don’t get it at all. He’s actions, words and everything he does. What does it mean?’ She thought.
Time flew faster than Ivyna thought. She was fixing her things while waiting Taese. He was in the meeting and he’s not coming back yet so she decided to wait for him outside his office. She was waiting for about half an hour when the man that always delivers the food every lunch time approached.
“Ivyna, right?” the man stopped in front of her before smiling.
She nodded before smiling, too.
“I’m Henry,” he extended his hand towards her.
Ivyna got it.
“Sir Taese said you can wait for him in his car. So, let’s go?”
She nodded.
She also had no choice but to obey. Besides, he has no other house but Taese's condo so he has no choice. She followed Henry as he walked first. They reached the ground floor and immediately walked towards Taese’ car.
Henry was about to open Taese’ car when Ivyna stopped him.
“Why? Don’t you want to wait him inside?” Henry asked.
She shook her head.
“I’ll be fine here. Thanks, by the way.” She smiled.
“Are you sure?” Henry asked once again. “Sir Taese might be angry if I let you out of his car alone. Ypu should get inside—“
Once again, Ivyna stopped him.
“Really I’ll be fine here.”
Henry couldn’t do anything but to sigh.
“Then, I keep you accompany until sir Taese came.”
Ivyna immediately shook her head.
“No,no, you can go. I can handle myself—“
Henry cut her off.
“Sir Taese will probably kill me if I leave you here alone.”
Ivyna didn't argue anymore. She didn't want to be the reason for his losing his job.
Silence filled the surroundings. But henry broke it by asking Ivyna.
“If you don’t mind asking you this, what’s your relationship to Sir Taese?” Henry looked at her. “It’s okay if you don’t want to answer it—“
“I-I’m just his… friend. Nothing else.” She uttered.
Henry looked at her like he didn’t buy what she said.
“Friends? I thought you’re together?”
“W-What?”
He nodded then looked away.
“For the past fifteen years I’m working with him, I saw him with a lot of women. But none of those got his attention.” He then looked at her.
Nervous, she looked at henry.
“You must be special for him.”
Ivyna laughed bitterly.
“Am I?” she asked. “Just like you said, you know him better than I do. So, do you think I am special to him?”
Without hesitation, henry nodded at her.
“Yes.” He said. “This is the first time I saw him care to others. He doesn’t care to his parents, only his grandfather. And I think he cared about you too.”
Ivyna gulped after hearing that.
‘Am I special to him?’ She thought.
Minutes had passed when Taese finally came. Henry bid his good bye to the both of them. They both entered his car. While Taese was driving, Ivyna was thinking to what Henry told her. She then looked in front of her and saw a serious look Taese had while driving.
‘How come we ended like this?’ She asked herself.
Ivyna couldn’t take it anymore. Her mind will blow up if she couldn’t ask those questions that kept messing in her head.
“Ah, Sir Taese?”
Taese looked at her through the mirror.
“I am very thankful to you for helping in my downfall. I know the word thank you isn’t enough for what you did for me since that day. So, I-I decided to…”
Taese frowned. It’s like she’s bidding her good bye at him.
“I want to move out and s-start a new life—“
“No.”
“H-Huh?”
“You’re not moving out.”
“B-But—“
“No more but’s.” He cut her off again.
Ivyna’s mouth hung up.
“Sir, please—“
“Damn!” Taese stopped the car and faced her. “Do you think you can walk away after what you cause to me?”
Ivyna was confused to him.
“W-What did I do?”
“Relly you don’t know?”
Ivyna didn’t talk.
“Even a bit?”
Still, Ivyna kept her mouth closed.
“Then,” Taese stared at her. “You should take responsibility for what you cause to me.”
“W-What responsibility—“
“I will court you from now on.”
